Build Summary

Starting items

Notes It is optimal to go for Bumba's Dagger as it gives you health and mana from killing jungle monsters. Being Jotunn's Wrath is your next item, the cheap price and 20% cooldown reduction greatly assist in early clear and rotations.

Susano's kit is 'mana hungry' which is evident in the early game so prioritizing sustain, you set yourself up for an exciting end game build.

Full Pen (Late Game Focused)

Notes This build takes full advantage of Susano's kit. It is, in my opinion, a great all rounder for Damage, Penetration and Burst.

Bloodforge is an interchangeable item, it is included as the extra movement speed and life steal are great but the added +75 power and the item's passive make you a late game menace.

Susano's Skill Order Notes Starting with your 1 first is optimal for clearing buff and xp camps that you group at the start of the game. Leveling the 3 next is preferable as it deals 'damage over time' or 'DOT' if you hit an enemy god, or gives you quick escape if you get in trouble . If you find you have early lane pressure and still have the option to choose your 2 or 3 at 'level 2', choosing the 2 can pull people back towards you or your fellow mid-laner.

1 X
Susano moves three times in quick succession; after each attack he has up to 3s to fire the next one.

First Attack: 100% Damage to all Enemies in a cone.

Second Attack: 100% Damage to all Enemies in a circle.

Third Attack: 50% Damage while Dashing forward.

Ability Type: Dash Special
Damage per Hit: 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 (+50% of your Physical Power)
Damage (Max): 100 / 163 / 225 / 288 / 350 (+138% of your Physical Power)
Range: 30
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80
Cooldown: 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12s
Wind Siphon

2 A
Susano commands the winds to blow, dealing damage in a cone in front of him.

Enemies in the center of the attack are pulled toward him.

Ability Type: Cone
Damage: 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 / 210 (+70% of your Physical Power)

3 B
Susano throws forward a gust of air which creates a whirlwind, dealing damage every 0.75s for 3s. He may activate this ability again to teleport to the whirlwind.

If the initial gust hits an Enemy, the whirlwind surrounds and travels with them, and teleporting to the Enemy reduces this cooldown to 10s.

Ability Type: Projectile Special
Damage Per Tick: 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 (+25% of your Physical Power)
Damage (Max): 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 / 260 (+100% of your Physical Power)
Range: 45
Cost: 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 65
Cooldown: 16s
Typhoon

4 Y
Susano summons a hurricane at his location, creating a Vortex that drags enemies towards the center while growing to up to twice its size, increasing the damage as it grows. Upon reaching full size, the storm is launched in the direction he is facing, knocking up opponents in its path. Susano may re-activate this ability early to fire the storm at its current size for reduced damage. If fired at less than half of its maximum size, he also foregoes the knock-up.

Ability Type: Line
Max Damage: 235 / 300 / 365 / 430 / 495 (+115% of your Physical Power)
Range: 70
Cost: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100
Cooldown: 100s

Core Items

Notes These two items synergize with Susano very well.

    -
Hydra's Lament is a great choice for a few reasons.

- Bonus basic attack damage after using abilities, extra cooldown and %penetration.

As 'Auto Attack Canceling' or AA Canceling 'In-between Abilities' is how you can unleash a large amount of damage.

- MANA! Susano is an combo heavy god, and Mana hungry.

- The Crusher most importantly offering increased attack speed and penetration. Two things Susano benefits highly from.

Note: Crusher synergizes well as his kit is combo based and crusher now deals extra 'DOT' (40% of physical power of 2 seconds).

Items like Transcendence negate the early game mana problem by increasing your mana pool tenfold, how ever it is a staking item and Susano is one of the best early game gods.

Items to Consider

Notes Transcendence Great if you don't want to worry about mana and want some cooldown.

Arondight is great if you look to initiate more fights yourself or have great follow up when in a team fight. Also provides extra Cooldown

Brawler's Beat Stick is the go for anti-heal. If the enemy team has a lot of healers or team healing, this is a must consider item. Typically bought as your 3rd item.

Relics

Notes Blink typically bought first every time eventually upgraded into 'Scorching Blink Rune' for bonus damage.

Beads used against gods such Ares or Ymir, whose abilities or ultimate's stop you from getting away and possibly killed. Upgrade into 'Temporal Beads' to offer extra cooldown in sticky situations.

Aegis is a niche relic for Susano as he is a great escape artist. Buy this if the enemy team has a Thanatos or Ao Kuang as this will stop them from performing their 'Execute' on you. Upgraded into 'Aegis of Acceleration' because getting away as fast as possible is your best bet.

Quick Summary

Susano, God of The Summer Storm.

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my guide for Susano, God of The Summer Storm.

My name is TonyPolony, or Tony for short.

I'm a casual Smite player who mainly plays conquest and more recently been playing in the Jungle role, specifically as Susano.

Hopefully, this guide can provide you with some helpful tips and moderate guidance to either help get you started with Susano or bring some light to his unique kit and playstyle.

There aren't many up to date guides for Susano at this point, so I thought I'd give it a go! Being my first attempt at making a guide, I would love to know what you guys think.

Please feel free to make any suggestions or tips to help make this guide one of the better ones out there as Susano can be perceived as one of the more 'difficult' gods to play.

This guide is a work in progress and will be updated as often as possible.

What do you think about Serrated edge instead of bloodfordge?

TonyPolony | May 3, 2023 6:04pm
If you start with Bumba's Dagger and upgrade it to Bumba's Spear, you'll over cap on %Penetration. Serrated Edge is beneficial with a higher attack speed build where as Bloodforge passive gives you a shield upon getting a kill, ideal for high burst damage builds :)

So are you not supposed to upgrade Jotunns?

Branmuffin17 (394) | May 2, 2023 10:09am
I think the build creator is leaving the upgrade choice to you. As the only item in the main build with glyph upgrade options, of course you would get something eventually, just not right when you finish Jotunn's.

The Glyph upgrade is personal preference, I personally would upgrade it to Jotunn's Cunning as it's passive is ability cooldown. I would suggest upgrading the Glyph after you've completed your build :)

Switching titans for jotunn and building it earlier would make it a very good build
