Introduction

Hello everyone! I'm back with another Nu Wa guide. This is a improvement of the Bruiser Nu Wa that was on my other guide. You can use it for both Conquest and Arena.

This build focuses on:

Magical Power - This one is obvious. Everything in Nu Wa's kit scales with Magical Power, even her basic attacks.

Defense - Since this is a Bruiser Build, you'll need items that raise your defenses and health so that you can take hits better and survive during the teamfights.

Attack Speed - The basic attacks are very important for Nu Wa. Both Flame Strike and Pillars of Heaven improve Nu Wa's basic attacks, making them her primary source of damage.

Pros / Cons

Pros

-Ranged and magical bruiser
-Strong basic attacks with splash damage
-Fast wave clearing and very good pusher
-Good Teamfight Presence
-Physical Protection buff from Clay Soldiers
-Different kinds of utility (stealth, minions, stun...)
Cons

-Squishy until you get items
-Damaging skils aren't very powerful on their own
-Minions leave much to be desired
-Dependent on basic attacks that can be missed
-Hard to master

Skills

Elemental Crystals (Passive)

Nu Wa's passive gives her Health Regeneration (10 HP5). Everytime she uses an ability, a crystal is activated, giving her a buff for 10s:
Elemental Crystals-Fog activates the Water Crystal, increasing the Movement Speed of nearby allies;
- Clay Soldiers activates the Earth Crystal, increasing the Physical Protection of nearby allies;
-Flame Strike activates the Fire Crystal, granting her basic attacks splash damage;
-Pillars of Heaven activates the Metal Crystal, doubling the damage of her basic attacks.

The Health Regeneration buff (always active) shines during the laning phase. Nu Wa can recover the Health that she loses when harassed by the enemy, being able to stay in the lane longer.

The buff given by the Water Crystal (Movement Speed aura) is the closest thing Nu Wa has to an escape. It will be used to escape or to catch an enemy that is fleeing.

The buff given by the Earth Crystal (Physical Protection aura) is very helpful to Nu Wa as a Bruiser. It works a bit like an item, improving her defense by a good amount that can really make the difference.

The buffs given by the Fire Crystal (basic attack splash damage) and the Metal Crystal (2x basic attack damage) are the most important ones. It's thanks to them that Nu Wa has such strong basic attacks.

When all crystals are active, Nu Wa transforms into her true snake form, refreshing the duration of all crystal bonuses.

Fog

Fog Nu Wa creates a fog that follows her at 95% of her Movement Speed. Inside the fog, she and all allies are stealthed while enemies are damaged every second.

This is mostly a utility skill, granting Invisibility and a Movement Speed buff. The bad thing about it is that enemies can see the fog and are able to predict where you are. The damage is not bad but isn't going to help you that much, since you must be close to the enemy and even then they can avoid the fog. Last skill to level up.

Clay Soldiers

Nu Wa conjures minions that have Health equal to 200 plus 20% of Nu Wa's maximum health. They will push lanes and attempt to attack nearby structures, and last for 8s. The number of minions conjured increases with each level on this skill.

These minions are so dumb that they don't even follow your orders, so don't expect them to save your skin or attack who you want. Atleast they can still block skillshots and tank towers. This skill will be more used for the Physical Protection buff; that's why I level up it after Flame Strike.

Flame Strike

Flame Strike Nu Wa conjures a burst of flame at her target location, stunning enemies and enemy structures for 1s and igniting them for additional damage every second. The damage increases the closer Nu Wa is to the source when cast.

One of the most important skill for a Nu Wa that relies on basic attacks. It has good damage and with the stun you can easily throw some basic attacks at the enemy. It's the buff that it grants to basic attacks that makes this skill so special, giving you the ability to clear waves really fast and damage multiple enemies during teamfights. Level up this skill first (after the Ultimate of course).

Pillars of Heaven (Ultimate)

Pillars of Heaven Nu Wa summons four metal pillars, creating a square with an electrical field. Enemies who pass through the field take damage and are heavily slowed for 3s.

The other important skill for Nu Wa. The damage is not the highest if the enemies are only hit once, but it starts to add up if they stay in the field; therefore it works better with other ultimates. Like Flame Strike, it improves your basic attacks, doubling their damage. Because of this, it should be used in the beginning of a gank/fight to make good use of that buff. However, you can also use it to escape or to chase an enemy that is fleeing, as the slow really helps. Level up whenever you can.

Items

Core

Shoes of Focus
- I think Shoes of Focus are better in Arena because there you are constantly engaging in teamfights and always having your skills ready is very important (CDR). Feel free to use Shoes of the Magi instead if you prefer.
    OR
Shoes of the Magi
- You should use Shoes of the Magi in Conquest because CDR is not as important and you want to improve your damage overall, as it will help you more during the laning phase. Feel free to use Shoes of Focus instead if you prefer.

Warlock's SashWarlock's Sash
- This is the first item you make to reach the max. stacks quicker. It is your primary Health item and provides Magical Power to improve your damage. The Mana is also helpful so that you can use your skills without needing to return to the base all the time.

Telkhines Ring
- Since Nu Wa relies on basic attacks, the Attack Speed and the damage boost to them is very important. The basic attack splash damage also applies on-hit effects, making this item much better. Not only that but it also gives Magical Protection that you'll definitely need.

Physical Protection

Witch StoneWitch Stone
- A great Physical Protection item for Nu Wa. It's this item's aura and attack speed that make it a very good choice. Movement Speed is always good since Nu Wa has no escapes.

Breastplate of Valor
- Insane amount of Physical Protection that this item gives. I think it is a good choice for Nu Wa because of the CDR. With it and Shoes of Focus, you reach 40% and you'll be able to use your skills more often.

Magical Protection

Focused Void Stone
- Definitely the best option for a magical bruiser like Nu Wa. This and Telkhines Ring give all the Magical Protection that you need. More Magical Power and Penetration to greatly improve your damage.

Last Item

Demonic Grip
- An item with a great passive, reducing the target's Magical Protection everytime you hit him with a basic attack. The Attack Speed will make you attack even faster. It synergizes very well with Telkhines Ring and Witch Stone.

Polynomicon
- Thanks to this item's passive, your basic attacks will do tons of damage after you use a skill. Even though Magical Lifesteal is nice, the passive is the reason why this item is so good. I think it works better with Shoes of Focus and Breastplate of Valor.

Gem of Binding
- This item basically reduces the enemy's Movement Speed everytime you hit him with a basic attack. Although not as good as Polynomicon or Demonic Grip, it deserves a mention because it makes life easier for those who have some problems hitting basic attacks.

actully, the idea of Witch's stone is not a great choise for me. it's a supportive item, and the bruiser idea is a liitle tanky, so i take this as support/tank build, still good, i like to play her at this way but not so much. +1 from me

The BBC coding is sexy!

And I'm afraid that you can't change the color of the rules. I like them as is; the white accentuates the color.

Very nice.

You do a good job of explaining how skills work, why you level or not level them up, and when and when not to use them. Good work.

Another example build isn't really necessary.

Now that skills and items are done, are you going to get some gameplay?

That will take some days since I have tests now, but I will do it.

UPDATE: A new item joins the build - Shoes of the Magi!
Skill Section is done!
Improved descriptions to the Last Items and Shoes, and added one to Gem of Binding.
And that's it..

Should I add another Example Final Build with CDR and Polynomicon?

Okay, yeah, you should delete them.

One problem I see with the build is the lack of any penetration, which will easily nullify most of your damage. Since you rely on basics anyway, shouldn't you go for Shoes of the Magi, since you rely less on your abilities? (Also, minion waves arrive once every 30 > X > 20 (not sure about exact number) seconds anyway, so CD is irrelevant, unless you plan on using multiple flame strikes on the same wave, which is wasteful.)

I have to admit, I really like the idea of Witch Stone on Nu Wa. It is definitely a novel concept yet synergizes with her quite well. I wish I thought of that. Have you considered adding Ethereal Staff as a defensive item option? I mean, you already have warlock's sash, so that might work.

Your pros and cons sections have really improved. But as TT said, your skills section is lacking.

Possibly my favorite part is the bit on the top giving a small overview of the focus of the build; attack speed, defense, and power. I wish I could see that on more guides.

Overall, this guide has improved so much, I'll upvote. If this guide continues to progress this way, I'll definitely recommend it.

Thank you for commenting!

Hmm, I think you're right about the boots. CDR is more important on Arena (which is what I usually play) but since this guide is for both Arena and Conquest I should add Shoes of Magi.

Regarding to Etheral Staff, I had that on my old build, but I didn't feel it was very important. If you use it, there is no room for one of the last items (which improve the basic attacks) and Warlock's Sash provides enough Health. Yes, they have synergy and you get more Health and Magical Damage, but I want to focus on basic attacks and for that, the items listed are much better.

I'm happy to see you liked the Introduction and the Witch Stone!
