Hi, this is the first guide I do in the game so please try not to be too harsh on me. First I want to introduce Freya. She was a hybrid until a recent patch, now her passive is pretty much like Anubis's, she get 15% magical lifestyle, something that will help her very much early game. Freya is an extremely Squishy god, but her CC and high damage burst make up for this.

Pros/Cons

Pros

    Is an assassin and has medium CC
    Has great damage and can 2 hit kill AD gods in late game
    Great at ganking with combat blink
    Vanish has great range can help secure kills (timing is tough)
    Can tower dive with Valkyrie's Discretion and receive no damage

Cons

    EXTREMELY SQUISHY! If caught of guard by an AD god you are done for
    While combat blink is on cooldown getting ganked could be a problem
    Mana hungry early game

Items

Shoes of Focus


Shoes of Focus
Shoes of Focus is the standard item for most mages in the game, it gives a nice amount of power and mana and will give a 15% cooldown bonus. Freya, being a mage relies in her skills most of the time as her basic attack are no longer powerful. The cooldown is more important than the penetration because in early game it will allow Freya to permanently have her irradiate or pulse active.


Meditation


Meditation
Meditation is need because of sustainability, being in a lane means that you will have to constantly kill minion waves and stay in lane and gank if necessary. Meditation will provide the mana and stop you from having to teleport back to be base and waste money in tower teleport (which you should be always using!)


Demonic Grip


Demonic Grip
Demonic Grip gives the needed attack speed and magical power that freya needs, this will provide 2 more pulse blasts per skill activation and will increase damage, increasing lifestyle and therefore increasing sustainability.


Fatalis


Fatalis
Oh fatalis, why u so hated? Well many people do not like Fatalis and say that it is a useless item. Well, it is NOT! Fatalis will provide 3 more pulses per skill activation and this is ignoring the fact that after three attacks the passive from Fatalis will trigger and Freya's attack speed will receive an steroid shot. The movement speed bonus is also nice, as it help Freya escape from uncomfortable situations and cut times to get to a gank.


Combat Blink

Simple, Combat Blink will help freya escape from situations as well as being able to get a better position in a team fight


Polynomicon


Polynomicon
FINALLY! The ultiamte basic attack, some might say that polynomic passive is of no use for mages, let me tell you, you are wrong.Polynomicon's passive is made for Freya. After you have activated you pulse, make sure to hit the target at least twice, the first attack will do the basic attack damage, plus the skill magic % damage, plus 100% magical damage . The enemy will take some damage, you might also be under attack but don't worry. After the 2 attacks activate irradiate, this will erase the slow and AoE, but the enemy is already slow enough for you to use hit most of the times, but now with the boost that pulse and irradiate will give and Polynomicon's, the enemy will drop after you pulse is down.


Gem of Isolation


Gem of Isolation
This items has a nice DPS boost as well as a nice slow that stacks with pulse. Hit two attack and the enemy will hardly be able to move.

Bancroft's Talon


Bancroft's Talon
For those who do not like Fatalis, Bancroft's Talon is a great option, it will provide a good deal of magical power and magical lifesteal as well as extra lifesteal in uncomfortable situations.


Spear of the magus


Spear of the Magus
This item gives magical power and penetration, it will help deal more damage to tanks. Make sure to hit them to trigger the passive!

Solo/Duo Lane

Early Game


Early game if solo or duo, the skill you want to give priority to is pulse, the second skill, this skill will turn your basic attacks into range attacks, they will also grant a magical damage bonus and furthermore AoE damage to enemy minions and player, and adding a slow. This skill is pretty much OP, so use its OPness as much as possible. The best way to approach a minion wave is to activate pulse (and only pulse because if pulse and irradiate are active at the same time the AoE damage and slow will disappear ), and attack the minion wave before they start fighting your own minion wave this way more minions will be affected by the AoE damage.


Mid Game


Now most of the players will be between lvl 8 and 12. You will have at least the first 3 levels of your first item. During mid game, things start to get a but crazy, ganks occur more often and people start to leave their lanes more and more. You will have to stick to your lane and be aware of MIAS. The key to avoid ganks and survive them is not to use your skills too early. Vanish should be used after the enemy god is slowed with pulse, because it will much easier to hit him then. Valkyrie's Discretion is used for only two things, one securing one ore more kills or escaping while dealing some damage to enemy gods that will make them less likely yo keep attacking.


Late Game


Keep the ganking going and securing kills. Once in a while a speed of attack buff will make you no harm. But don't get greedy you jungler will need them more that you do. Never initiate, and less with Valkyrie's Discretion you won't deal enough damage and enemies will know were you will land and have all their skills ready to demolish you.

Jungling

Early Game


After getting the middle harpies with you team you will have to use HoG on the nearest attack of speed buff. After that you will have an early power boost which will help you take the nearest harpies gold camp. After this you would already need at least one health potion running. Go to the nearest mana buff and kill it, make sure to tell your laners that there is a buff on the floor so they take if for themselves. After this go to the opposite side of the jungle and check if the middle harpies are there, if they are kill them with HoG, you don't want to get ganked with low hp. Then go and take the gold camp, and go to the attack/speed buff. By now your previous buff should be nearly expired. Kill the mana buff and tell your team mates. Repeat the process over and over, make sure to be aware of MIAS and of ganks, it is your job to set up ganks after all.

Mid/Late Game


The mid and late game are very similar to the lane. The only difference is that you get your exp and gold from the jungle creeps.

How and when to use skills

General


Irradiate
Irradiate is simply put a auto attack damage boost, note that the damage boost is magical and it will be affected by magical protection. In lanes is will be best to use Irradiate on the front minions as you can use your own minions to body block damage from enemy minions and non God AoE damage.

Pulse
Pulse will change your auto attack into a ranged attack, it is bomb that will do magic AoE damage to nearby enemies. Also applying a slow. Pulse should be used in lanes when melee gods are attacking you front minions as you will able to damage the minions as well as the enemy gods. Note that is irradiate is activated while pulse is active there is a massive damage boost but the AoE and slow is erased.

Vanish
Vanish is an Aegis Amulet you use on your enemies. You might say why would you have such an ability, but it will leave an enemy out of combat and allow to focus weak gods, it will give you time to escape and will also give you time to catch up enemies and hit them with your pulse. Do not hesitate when using vanish it is hard to hit and has a long cooldown once you miss it you wont use it in a good amount of time, so use it wisely.

Valkyrie's Discretion
Valkyrie's Discretion is Freya's ultimate, it is a high damage burst, but do not think it is a one hit K.O, many people make that incorrect assumption. This skill should be used only when trying to finish an enemy or when trying to get out of a gank and Combat Blink is on cooldown. Make note that you won't move a hell of a lot while on mid-air so, do not think you will be able to fly half the map using this skill. Note that if irradiate is activated before Valkyrie's Discretion you will have a damage boost, so use it if it is not on cooldown!

Jungling


When jungling and trying to take minion camps quickly, the first thing you need if HoG (Hands of the Gods). When still in early game you will take quite long to kill a minion camps so do not hesitate to use HoG, the faster you kill the little minions the less damage you will take and the faster you will get the HP boost from Bumba's Mask. The most effective way to kill a minion camp is to focus the big minion with pulse and then after the skill 5 seconds are done, activate irradiate and finish the big minion. When taking the mid gold harpies, make sure to kill them quickly because the enemy jungler will probably be lurking around the area. When trying to steal an enemy minion camp, make sure that or the enemy jungler is dead or you have HoG read to use. You don't want to get caught of guard.

Well, I can tell you now that the build is nothing special. Almost every Freya that I have seen, including myself, has used that build.

Guide-wise you have some good stuff. I highly recommend looking at my thread on the Build and Items Discussion thread on BB Coding. It can give you some great stuff on making guides look... sexy.

Decent guide overall.
