Not sure about the start though. I would prefer Magic Shell. Not sure about chalice either.
For the support build, I think Gauntlet of Thebes, Sovereignty, and Heartward Amulet in the same build is a bit of overkill. I could be wrong.
For your usual build, Stone of Gaia is a bit questionable. Not 100% sure.
Thoughts?
As for the standard support build, that's an...okay cut-and-paste build for any support, but it could be better overall.
Fafnir is a bit more of an initiation Support. He's not the sit back and stay near teammates and peel for them kinda guy. As such, those team support auras aren't going to be as helpful.
Instead of Heartward Amulet, which I feel is the weakest of the 3 aura items, I would consider going more aggressive with Void Stone (if you have 2 other magical characters), Pestilence (for anti-heal), or Shogun's Kusari (great objective push). For that same objective push, you can consider Emperor's Armor as well.
Stone of Binding can also be a nice early bridge item, if you've got a good early game ADC.
Because he's got that great leap in both regular and dragon form, I'd say Shoes of Focus would be a better standard choice over Traveler's Shoes, but that might be preference.
As for Fafnir, as Bran pointed out, he's an initiator and not a peeler/protector. With him I'd go: Guardian's Blessing; Shoes of Focus; Sovereignty (if both the enemy ADC and jungler were physical, otherwise I'd pick up Void Stone or Pestilence depending upon the enemy's healing potential); Void Stone/ Pestilence depending upon whether or not the enemy team has strong healing. If I didn't already get sov, I'd get it now; Gauntlet of Thebes provided my ADC and mid had good clear and we weren't behind; situational items like Shogun's Kusari, Emperor's Armor, Midgardian Mail, Witchblade, Winged Blade, Hide of the Nemean Lion, etc.
As for this build, it's basically a cut 'n paste like Bran pointed out. It also doesn't mention any alternative items like Winged Blade for heavy slows or Witchblade for multiple enemy AA gods. As for the few alternative items listed, I would never get Hide of the Urchin, but the two robes are good depending upon the situation.
Even though this is a build and not a guide, i still think the author should provide alternatives. No two games play the same.
The cooldown build would probably be better served starting with reinforced greaves and ending with pestilence and breastplate of valor
