Full build

Notes Archmage's Gem because it gives you extra damage to destroy after every single combo.

Gem of Focus because we get pathfinding (movement speed) and cooldown that allows us to move while we are using abilities.

Book of Thoth converts Eset's high Mana build into raw Intelligence. Furthermore, it also helps your Ultimate's healing scale significantly higher.

Rod of Tahuti is your ultimate finisher, boosting your Intelligence by 25% for a massive power spike.

Spear of Desolation reduces your cooldowns whenever you get a kill or assist, this allows you to cast your Stun and Silence multiple times in a single team fight.

Obsidian Shard is essential for shredding tanks who build magical defense against you later in the match.

Blinking Abyss solves Eset's main weakness: her lack of a dash or leap to escape danger. It gives you a combat teleport to blink away from assassins or engage aggressively.

God Aspect De-Activated

Aspect of the Lifewarden

Dispel Magic no longer requires an enemy god hit to shield allies and now applies Transference to all allies it shields. Wing Gust no longer has damage scaling, but applies a movement speed aura to allies, and when its projectiles hit enemies, all allies with Transference are healed.

Eset's Skill Order Notes You should start by putting points into Wing Gust (up to rank 3) to guarantee you have enough damage to clear minion waves efficiently during the early laning phase. Once your clear is secured, switch to maxing Spirit Ball immediately because upgrading it significantly lowers its Cooldown (from 14s down to 10s), allowing you to stun and burst enemies more often in mid-game fights. After that, upgrade Dispel Magic to improve the shield you get with this ability. Prioritize leveling your Ultimate, Circle Of Protection, whenever available, and finish upgrading Wing Gust last since its early ranks provide sufficient damage for farming.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Ragna and I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2021. I started playing in little community tournaments and after a lot of training and work I manage to play professional tournaments on Atlanta as the Smite Content Cup in 2024 and SCC during 2023.

Now, in Smite 2 I have reached Deity every single split and I have competed in tournaments like Smite Vegas Qualifiers (ending in 5th position of EU) and right now Smite Prime, so Im always getting updated about the best metas on the game.

Apart from that I have a Twitch channel Ragna_smite where we play Smite 2 every single day and we do coaching for the subs to help them to improve on Smite 2, answering questions, talking about the game, etc.

Hope you find this guide as a good starting point for the midlane and to improve your skills with Eset.

Here are my socials:

Abilities

Eset's Abilities

Passive - Funeral Rites

Whenever a god dies near you, you gain a stack of Funeral Rites, providing Health and Mana regeneration to you and nearby allies. Additionally, your third Basic Attack is empowered, hitting in a wider area and dealing Bonus Damage.

This passive makes you a sustainability engine for your team. The aura encourages you to group up with your team during sieges, as the regeneration can keep your allies healthy between fights. The empowered Basic Attack is also excellent for cancels after each ability increasing your damage.

Ability 1 - Wing Gust

Eset flaps her wings, gaining Movement Speed and firing 4 projectiles in a line. She is immune to Roots and Knockbacks while channeling this.

This is your primary clear and main mobility tool. Because you are immune to Knockbacks while firing, you can use this to counter gods like Poseidon or Bacchus who try to disrupt you. Use the movement speed to run away from danger while still dealing damage to anyone chasing you.

Ability 2 - Spirit Ball

Fires a ball of spirit energy that deals damage and Stuns enemies. You can detonate it early. The further it travels, the more damage and stun duration it deals.

Always try to hit this at maximum range to get the massive stun. It passes through walls, so look for opportunities to stun unsuspecting enemies from the Jungle to set up a free kill for your team.

Ability 3 - Dispel Magic

Eset silences and slows enemies at a target location, reducing their Magical Protections. Allies near the blast gain a Health Shield.

This is arguably one of the best peel abilities in the game as, If an Assassin jumps on you or your carry, drop this at your feet to Silence them instantly, preventing them from using abilities to kill you. The Protection reduction is also vital for shredding Tanks in the late game.

Ultimate - Circle Of Protection

Creates a massive field that mitigates damage for allies standing inside. It charges up as damage is dealt within the circle, and can be detonated to deal massive damage and healing.

Drop this on major objectives like the Gold Fury or Fire Giant to secure them; if the enemy tries to steal it, they risk getting blown up by the fully charged detonation. It is also your best tool to turn a losing teamfight into a winning one by healing your team while nuking the enemy.

Example Combos

The Main Combo: Dispel Magic (Silence to prevent escape)-> Spirit Ball (Stun) -> Wing Gust (Close the gap)

Instant Peel: Dispel Magic (Silence) -> Spirit Ball (Stun) -> Run away with Wing Gust

Objective Secure: Circle Of Protection (On Objective) -> Dispel Magic (Silence Enemies) -> Detonate Ultimate to finish.

How to play Eset

Gameplay Start / Early Game

  • Start by clearing the first wave aggressively with Wing Gust. Position yourself to hit all 6 minions with every gust to secure level 2 before your opponent.

  • Return to lane and look for poke opportunities. Use Spirit Ball from the bush or behind walls to catch the enemy mid-laner off guard with a max-range stun.

  • Be careful with your positioning. Eset has no dash or leap, so if you push up too far without vision, you are an easy target for enemy junglers like Thor or Fenrir.

  • If you get ganked, place Dispel Magic at your feet to silence the enemy instantly, then use the movement speed from Wing Gust to backpedal to safety.

Mid Game:

  • You enter the mid-game once you have your core cooldown items like Chronos' Pendant or Spear of Desolation online. Your goal now is to control the map with your crowd control.

  • Stick to your Support and look for skirmishes. Eset shines in team fights where she can land multi-man silences with Dispel Magic to strip protections for her team.

  • Prioritize objectives like the Gold Fury. Circle Of Protection is the ultimate objective-securing tool. Drop it when the objective gets low to heal your team and burst the boss, making it nearly impossible for the enemy to steal.

  • Use Spirit Ball for vision and zoning. You can fire it into the jungle to check for enemies or to force them to dodge, disrupting their pathing during a chase.

Late Game:

  • In the late game, Eset transitions into a supportive artillery mage. Your damage is high, but your utility is what wins games.

  • Your primary goals in teamfights are:
    • Peeling for yourself and your Carry with Dispel Magic.
    • Stunning priority targets with Spirit Ball to set up kills for your Assassin or Warrior.

  • Always save Circle Of Protection for the critical moment. Do not use it just for damage; use it to counter a massive enemy ultimate like Ares's pull to save your team.

  • During Fire Giant dances, your Spirit Ball is a massive threat. A single stun on an enemy squishy can force them to use relics or even a kill if your team its ready, giving your team a free Fire Giant.

  • When sieging Phoenixes, position yourself safely behind walls. You can throw Spirit Ball through the terrain to hit enemies under their tower without ever exposing yourself to danger.

  • If the enemy dives you, don't panic. You can fight inside your Circle Of Protection to gain damage mitigation and heal up, often turning the dive around into a kill for yourself.

How to ward as a Midlaner

Early/Mid Game

Here you can see the best spots to ward as a Midlaner.

These wards will help you to be safe during the first instances of the game, giving you the information about if your getting ganked from the solo or duo side.

Very Passive Situation

These wards will help you recover if you come from a bad spot i which maybe you are getting ganked a lot or invaded

Late Game

These wards are use to help your team on teamfight situations or fire gigant pulls, there are a lot of possibilities take those ones who you consider that suits the best to your game situation.

Siege / Defense Phoenix

For this situation there are only two main spots to have a ward, as you can see them rotating from one lane to the others, maybe you could even put one at lane to see if minions are approaching the phoenix but it isn't that important as knowing which lane they are going to siege.

As with that information you could be able to be on the right position before your enemies giving you a great advantage for the teamfight.

Regardless of the role, wards are the most important consumable you can buy, so don't forget to buy two wards after each back!
