Notes Pendulum of Ages is the starter that keeps Aphrodite online. Since Love Birds has a high mana cost and a long 16-second cooldown, the item’s passive, which grants mana per second based on missing mana and intelligence based on available mana, ensures she never runs out of mana while maximizing the intelligence scaling on her healing ticks.

Spear of Desolation helps us for keeping Aphrodite's ultimate most of the times. Because she is constantly linked to a carry via Kiss, she racks up assists easily, triggering the passive that reduces her Undying Love cooldown by 5 seconds per takedown. This ensures her damage immunity is ready significantly more often.

Book of Thoth is the primary item for raw healing output. Love Birds healing scales directly with intelligence and this item provides the highest amount. Appart from that his massive mana stats will save you from running out of mana any time.

Chronos' Pendant is mandatory for low cooldowns. Decreasing the cooldown with Aphrodite is critical for getting her primary heal to cycle faster, minimizing the downtime where the god linked to her is vulnerable.

Gem of Focus provides the survivability Aphrodite lacks. Since she has no dash without her ultimate, the Movement Speed from the Momentum stacks synergizes perfectly with the movement speed buff from Kiss, allowing her to juke enemies effectively while the cooldown helps keep her defensive abilities online.

Rod of Tahuti is the power-spike for every mage as the passive increases her intelligence in a significant way. Additionally, the mana feeds into the Book of Thoth passive, creating a feedback loop that results in massive power numbers.

Obsidian Shard ensures that appart from healing when she uses any ability to deal damage, it deals significant damage to tanks, forcing them to retreat rather than just going through her skills.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Ragna and I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2021. I started playing in little community tournaments and after a lot of training and work I manage to play professional tournaments on Atlanta as the Smite Content Cup in 2024 and SCC on 2023 summer.

Now, in Smite 2 I have reached Deity every single split and I have competed in tournaments like Smite Vegas Qualifiers (ending in 5th position of EU) and right now Smite Prime, so Im always getting updated about the best metas on the game.

Apart from that I have a Twitch channel Ragna_smite where we play Smite 2 every single day and we do coaching for the subs to help them to improve on Smite 2, answering questions, talking about the game, etc.

Hope you find this guide as a good starting point for the midlane.

Here are my socials:

Abilities

Aphrodite's Abilities

Passive - Center Of Attention

Aphrodite gains Physical Protection and Magical Protection for each friendly or enemy god nearby.

This passive encourages you to stay in the thick of the fight. While you shouldn't frontline, being near your team naturally makes you tankier, helping you survive dive attempts while you peel for your Soul Mate.

Ability 1 - Kiss

Fires a projectile. If it hits an ally, they become your Soul Mate, gaining Movement Speed and sharing your Mana Regen/Protections. If it hits an enemy, they are stunned and your Soul Mate gains Jealousy (increased damage dealt).

This is your link to the game. Always keep your carry linked to boost their damage via Jealousy. You can also use this as an interrupt against enemies channeling abilities, but be careful not to break your link at a critical moment.

Ability 2 - Back Off!

Deals damage and pushes enemies away from both you and your Soul Mate. It also applies slow.

This is your primary self-peel and wave clear. Since it originates from your Soul Mate as well, you can use it offensively to secure kills for your Assassin diving the backline, or defensively to knock a Warrior off your Hunter.

Ability 3 - Love Birds

Fires doves that damage enemies over time and heal you and your Soul Mate. Each tick reduces your cooldowns.

This is the core of your kit. The cooldown reduction mechanic means that as long as your birds are ticking on something, your other abilities come back online significantly faster.

Ultimate - Undying Love

You and your Soul Mate become Damage Immune and CC Immune for a short duration. Activating this instantly refreshes the cooldown of Love Birds.

This is the best defensive ultimate in the game. You can also reactivate it to Leap to your Soul Mate's location. Use the cooldown reset mechanic aggressively to cast your heal twice in a row during emergencies.

Example Combos

The Solo-Kill combo: Kiss (stun) -> Love Birds-> Back Off! -> Undying Love -> Love Birds

The Self-Peel: Kiss (Stun Enemy) -> Back Off! (Knockback + Slow) -> Love Birds

The Support Combo: Kiss (Link Ally) -> Undying Love (Leap to Ally + Immunity) -> Back Off! (Knockback + Slow)

How to play Aphrodite

Gameplay Start / Early Game
  • Push your first wave using Love Birds. Aim the doves to hit the entire minion wave to clear..

  • Head to your side camps with your jungler to secure farm; link to them with Kiss immediately to grant them Movement Speed and the Jealousy damage buff, allowing them to clear the camp significantly faster.

  • Return to lane to push the next wave and use Back Off! to poke the enemy mid laner if they get too close. The 20% Slow prevents them from trading back effectively while your doves tick down their health.

  • At this stage, you are vulnerable because you lack a dash; prioritize safe farming and keep an eye on the mini-map. If you are ganked, use Back Off! to push enemies away before retreating to your tower.

  • Use your Undying Love as soon as you hit level 5 if you or your Soul Mate are in danger. The Damage Immunity and CC Immunity can completely negate an enemy Jungle gank or secure a tower dive kill.

Mid Game:
  • You enter the mid-game once you have completed core items like Book of Thoth and Chronos' Pendant. This mana and CDR allow you to spam Love Birds, which further reduces your cooldowns.

  • Maintain a high farm rate by linking to your Jungler or Carry with Kiss. The shared Mana Regen keeps both of you active on the map without needing to recall.

  • Look for rotation opportunities using the Movement Speed from Kiss. You can move between lanes faster than most other mages, turning a 1v1 into a winning 2v1 instantly.

  • Focus on positioning; Aphrodite is a high-priority target. Stay behind your Soul Mate and use Kiss on enemies to Stun them if they try to dive your backline.

Late Game:
  • In the late game, Aphrodite becomes the ultimate sustain engine. Your goal is to make your Soul Mate (usually a hyper-carry assassin or hunter) unkillable while amplifying their damage.

  • Your primary goals in teamfights are:
    • Keeping Love Birds active on your team to heal and cycle your cooldowns.
    • Using Back Off! offensively by positioning your Soul Mate near enemies to slow and burst them.

  • Always position yourself near your Soul Mate but out of major risky areas; remember that Center Of Attention grants you extra protections for every god nearby, making you deceptively tanky in large scrums.

  • During Fire Giant dances, use Love Birds to heal up any poke damage your team takes. This forces the enemy to commit to a hard engage if they want to win, as they cannot win a war of poke against you.

  • If the enemy engages, hold your Undying Love for the critical moment. Activating it grants Jealousy to your ally, which can turn a defensive panic button into a massive damage counter-engage.

  • When sieging Phoenixes, stand at the edge of phoenix area. If your tank takes damage, heal them; if an enemy defender steps up, hit them with a Kiss Stun to allow your team to collapse on them.

  • Mastering the timing of Undying Love—using it to cleanse CC rather than just mitigate damage—will distinguish you as a top-tier Aphrodite player.

How to wards as a Midlaner

Early/Mid Game

Here you can see the best spots to ward as a Midlaner.

These wards will help you to be safe during the first instances of the game, giving you the information about if your getting ganked from the solo or duo side.

Very Passive Situation

These wards will help you recover if you come from a bad spot i which maybe you are getting ganked a lot or invaded

Late Game

These wards are use to help your team on teamfight situations or fire gigant pulls, there are a lot of possibilities take those ones who you consider that suits the best to your game situation.

Siege / Defense Phoenix

For this situation there are only two main spots to have a ward, as you can see them rotating from one lane to the others, maybe you could even put one at lane to see if minions are approaching the phoenix but it isn't that important as knowing which lane they are going to siege.

As with that information you could be able to be on the right position before your enemies giving you a great advantage for the teamfight.

Regardless of the role, wards are the most important consumable you can buy, so don't forget to buy two wards after each back!
