Introduction

This build is best suited for Arena, but can be used for other game types if you are playing dedicated support. If you are playing mid or solo lane this build is not for you.

Aphrodite is quite a versatile support and can be adapted to a variety of roles. This guide focuses on using aura items. She can take advantage of the other teams strengths or weaknesses depending how they build. My base item build is not 100% set in stone; I make modifications based on whether the opposing team is physical or magical heavy.

This guide is a culmination of about two years of playing with items and testing in different scenarios.

Pros / Cons

This build is in no way perfect, like anything it has its advantages and disadvantages. It will cause a lot of havoc for the opposite team due to her healing abilities. Supplemented with the auras, it gives you a well-rounded support that debuffs the enemies giving your team the opportunity to make kills.

Pros

  • Reduces enemy healing
  • Reduces enemy magic defense
  • Reduces enemy movement speed
  • Max ability cool down
  • Decent life steel
  • Average healing

Cons

  • Low magic power
  • No penetration
  • Lower end defence
  • Lower health pool
  • Low damage output

Items

Why these items?

Shoes of Focus - This should be the first item you buy it will give you a base starting cool down & a little boost to your mana along with some movement speed.

Breastplate of Valor
- Second item is your defensive item. I tend to build less defence on Aphrodite due to her healing ability & her invulnerability ultimate. Where I use those to make up for her lacking in defence. The breastplate is great for its cooldown, mana & physical resistance. The breastplate is one of your main items that you can switch out depending on the course of the battle or team comp of the enemy. There are times where I will swap it for other defensive items.

My main go to items that I swap out in its place are:
  • Genji's Guard - I have seen lots of debates on using this item it seems to be hit or miss if people like it. Its advantage is it offers decent cooldown. Not as much as BreastPlate of Valor. However, it's passive triggers every 30 seconds or so and can give you a nice cooldown boost in a pinch. The negatives are it provides you with no mana. On the flip side, it gives you a high magic resistance.
  • Mantle of Discord - If they look to have a well-rounded team, i.e., if they have two magical attackers & three physical attackers, or two physical three magic. I will do this because Mantle of Discord has a great balance between physical & magical resist. While it still offers a decent cooldown rate. It's passive is great if you take damage below 30% health you unleash a shockwave that stuns all enemies within a range of 20 units for 1s and gains CC immunity for 1s. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 90s. Keep in mind this item is very versatile, and you could use this as your primary defensive item and just swap in Valor or Genji as needed.

Divine Ruin - This is always my third item. I will take it for the little boost in lifesteal, mana & magical power. Its true power lies in its passive ability. Enemies hit by your abilities have 40% reduced healing and regeneration for 8 seconds.

Pythagorem's Piece
- Fourth item for its cooldown because more cooldown is better the more you get on Aphrodite the fast you can use you heal. Never underestimate the cooldowns and those damn doves of war they are vicious little birds. This item also offers you with more magical power and more lifesteal. You will also be aiding your team with +20 Magical Power and +10% Magical Lifesteal to all allies within 70 feet.

Gem of Isolation
- How I do love this item its a beaut! Gem is great because it's going to give you a nice boost to power, mana, and health. Its true power is its passive, Enemies hit by your damaging abilities will move 25% slower for 2 seconds.

Void Stone - Void Stone is another one of those items that I will sub out depending on enemy team comp. Before I talk about why I will sub it out, lets look at what it does. It will give you a nice boost to magical power & magical protection. While its passive reduces the Magical Protection of enemies within 55 feet by 20. Which therein can lie the problem, if your team is physical damage heavy the enemy team will most likely build for physical resist. Which will make Void Stone pretty much useless.

Instead sub Void for:

  • Witchblade - Witchblade is fantastic all around item. It will increase your attack speed and physical resist. While it's passive is quite the marvel. All enemies within 55 feet have their attack speed reduced by 20% and their Physical Power reduced by 30. This item is especially good if the enemy team is Hunter & Assassin heavy.
  • Pestilence - Another great option and very useful if their team has an Aphrodite or other form of healer. It's passive slows healing and regeneration of enemies within 55 units is reduced by 25%. It also offers you magical protection and health.
  • Heartward Amulet - Heartward is decent and I don't use it very often with this build. I tend to use this more with my healing build. However, I am putting it in here just as an option if you want to experiment with it. It will give you magic protection, health and mp. It will give your team a nice buff also. All allies within 70 units gain +20 Magical Protections and +20 MP5.

Skills

How Do I Do This Skill Thing?

Arena Setup

When in arena battles with this build I put my first points into Kiss, Back Off!, and Love Birds.

Then I will give priority to the Love Birds, putting points into it as often as it allows. Keeping a balance between Back Off! and Kiss. Put one point into Undying Love as soon as you are able.

Other Game Modes

When in other game modes start out with putting your first point into Love Birds. Then follow up with either Back Off! or [Kiss]. Then you can shift back up and follow the same order I used for the arena build.

Summary

I want to end this guide by saying thank you for viewing it and feedback and suggestions are welcome. I would love to hear how it works out for everyone and if any changes you have made improved it.

Keep in mind cooldown so you can keep those heals up!
