There is almost no reason to in conquest... You are rarely up against a mage, and if you are you go gaia. The CD and Phys power is easily outclassed by Jotunn and it got a nerf a while ago, so now even more players are reluctant to use it.

tbh I disagree, IMO the recent changes to the item killed it. I used to pick it up 5th/6th item for Bastet, but it's just so meeh now I buy Mail of Renewal cuz it's more worth it.
And Ancile is good when the enemy team has 3-4 mages, in any gamemode. I have played league matches againts 4 magical and 1 physical, or 4 physical and 1 magical, and those matches suck hard T_T

It's good for everything really. More prot for runeforge and the magical protection is just there as an added bonus. I almost always build this no matter what on a supp/warrior because of the prots on it.
Regarding OP, I've found out shifters is really hard to build into, it's so damn expensive (but really good) so this build might not be viable..

Jotunn's Wrath Mail of Renewal And these are the weapons of choice for me consideringdamage. Runeforged Hammer The Executioner Titan's Bane

Shifters Shield and Ancile every now and then.
For the life of me I cant get The Magic Cudgel to do much damage.

You are getting like 25 damage off the runeforge, youd be better off getting some crits. I suggest building mystical mail for dat 40 dot and procing runeforge even more.
