Zeus can't revenge kill enemies from a global distance. You have to look at the way it interacts with the kit. I'm purely assuming things from the descriptor now, but it looks like Zeus' ult is more utility-oriented, by giving vision and, well, needing to stay alive while using it. Karthus, on the other hand, is more damage focused, and it fuctions neatly with his passive. Karthus' weakness is primarily his lack of ranged damage, which can also be problematic when your killer merrily skips away from your unbreathing corpse. Cue Karthus ult.

I mean, yes, they're very similar. But there's enough of a gameplay difference to stop it from being a carbon clone.

It's extremely logical:

Spiders climb on walls.
So Arachne climbs on the ceiling (walls would probably be up). She's obviously invincible since she's upp on the ****ing ceiling. And when she lands she has to do something, otherwise it'd be boring.

A leap...that makes you climb on the ceiling...do you even play LoL? Because that is pretty much Elise's Rappel: a targeted strike makes the delay one second, pretty much identical to a leap's delay.

I'm not complaining about her being able to climb up, I'm complaining about how this ability is pretty much identical to another in both form and function.

Lastly, you're going a bit too far into the HiRez mentality there. It could be both interesting and original if she had altered abilities there. For example, let's say Drain Life could be fired from the web. Or egg nests can be thrown onto enemies' heads, or you plant them into the web you're standing on, creating essentially invisible traps. Or something like that. Along with giving it the limitation of forcing you to come down where you came, preventing it from being a chase or escape tool.

But the width of the target area discounts any of those theories, so again, it's just going to be a CC/damage nuke. Boring clone.

Actually... LoL copied dota. The original one. Like so many ults and kits are the same in some characters. We are all copying one game.

HoN copied DotA :P No, seriously, look at things like Legionnaire and Axe. They are LITERALLY carbon copies of each other.

I mean, I generally prefer the term 'inspired by', but in HoN's case, it's a copy.

I don't mind Arachne's ability (for which we aren't even confirmed on what it does yet) being inspired by Elise's Rappel. It's because LoL and Smite are drastically different in terms of how they are played. I mean, I won't deny that the possibility of it being a carbon copy, but the top-down view of League will offer a drastically different experience of using the ability than Smite's third person view will.

Emmmm, as a LoL player that plays Elise top, this one is really not her. AFirst, Elise rappel doesn't deal damage. Second, it cannot be freely targeted. Finally, i personally feel Elise rappel is not really important. I feel better to have her coocoon alone instead of rappel alone.

Finally, talking about copying. I don't care. Nothing in any game is a total copy. Ra might have a similar ult to lux, but does lux have an aoe heal or does ra have any roots. Rama and xerath ult is similar but one is physical while other is magical. Honestly the only copy i hate is Nu Wa because that ult is just a super random kit put there.

Final note, if you say some skills are copying, iit's like you are talking lucian e is same with grave e or anubis 3 is same with poseidon 3

And zeus needs to be alive to cast it but it's insta cast the moment you pressed 4 enemies get hit and take damage and the sight is created.
