Chains extend from Ares' shield, doing damage to all enemies in its path. Hitting a god shackles them to Ares, Cripples them, preventing movement abilities, dealing the same damage every second while slowing them by 15% and buffing Ares. While shackled, Ares can fire another chain for free within 2s. Jungle Camps take an extra +40% damage.

You'll start with your boots to get your early game cool down and a little power. You start by running to camps with your team and all you gotta do is burn them no prob. If you have a mana problem just grab some pots here or there

Why Mail of Renewal? Why not Breastplate of Valor?

Why I choose to use Mail of Renewal is because you get a little CR(cool down reduction), health, and protections, but why i truly get it is because of the passive that heal and mana restoration is perfect because you stay on the battle field longer and you can rack up the gold for the rest of the build. Why not Breastplate of valor why not just max your cooldowns at the start? You don't need the extra mana honestly you start with good mana and the Mail of Renewal restores your mana anyway.

The rest of the game

Once your done with gem of isolation the enemy can barely move with your shackles in them and the slow from the flames if you don't get the kill someone will because the enemy is going nowhere and if they try just pop enfeebling curse and boom they should be gone.

The fault in my build

The only threat to ares in the situation is gods that silence him because you cant slow and it immediately ends your flames but thats the only fault i can think of. Ive tested it and i always was top on the team or close to it my recod so far is 14 kills 2 deaths 24 assists

A few notes:

-Generally players get more damage by leveling Shackles before Searing Flesh. This is because it's easier to land a few shackles on people and still be able to back off if necessary, as well as because shackles last longer and allow you to deal more damage overall.

-While Void Stone does provide some penetration, you'll be doing a lot more damage with a straight penetration item like Spear of the Magus in your build than items like Rod of Tahuti, with the exception of enemy gods that don't build ANY magical defense, which in Arena is rare even for mages because they have supports with Sovereignty close by most of the time.

-You may want to consider getting blink even earlier to maximize early kill potential with No Escape, although I'll admit this is risky while you're still squishy.

-Shackles' slow + Gem of Isolation's slow + Enfeebling Curse's slow is just asking people to buy counter items like Winged Blade and Heavenly Agility. You should probably consider other second actives like shield of absorption or Shield of the Underworld.

-Finally the main worry, this build is very beneficial to YOU but not necessarily your team. If there's no other support god and no one buys Sovereignty and Heartward Amulet, you're doing the rest of your team a huge disservice by not having them. Not only are these aura items that benefit Ares anyway, but they greatly improve the survivability of your squishier teammates. If there's another support god on your team, going full AP Ares is fine, but if there isn't you may want to at least consider replacing two items in your build for these.

Overall though good guide, I like shield of absorption and the max cdr and CC protection from Spirit Robe for arena. Nice to see some unique builds around the site. You may want to add some bbcoding, but for a basic guide like this it looks fine anyway. +1 from me

This is a unique build compared from what you'll normally see from people the play Ares, I like it and like how different from others build. Hope this kind of build catches up steam later in the future.
