Go for the Sands build if you want a stronger mid game build spike. Both the Sands and Conduit builds have a similar lategame, though you can ditch Myrddin from the Sands build and rely on Sands/Pendulum for lone CDR without needing to invest in other CDR.
Sands of Time
Lost Artifact
Healing Potion
Multi Potion
If Anti-Heal isn't needed, you can trade
Divine Ruin for
Book of Thoth or
Spear of Desolation.
Pendulum of Ages
Doom Orb
Divine Ruin
Staff of Myrddin
Charon's Coin
Soul Reaver
Go for the Conduit build if you want stronger early clear. Both the Conduit and Sands builds have a similar lategame.
Gem of Focus buffs
Soul Reaver proc damage, which can give a *slight* boost to damage to very high HP targets.
Conduit Gem
Lost Artifact
Healing Potion
Multi Potion
If Anti-Heal is needed, swap out
Spear of Desolation for
Divine Ruin.
Gem of Focus
Doom Orb
Spear of Desolation
Staff of Myrddin

Replace
Golden Shard at level 12 for

Upgrade relics to their upgraded versions once you're full build.
Temporal Beads especially is the more important relic upgrade to prioritise.
Temporal Beads
Aegis of Acceleration
Golden Shard
Book of Thoth - High power item good for lategame scaling.
The Alternate Timeline - Defensive alternative to
Pendulum of Ages that can be strong in some scenarios. Can be considered if getting focused.

Hastened Ring /
Demonic Grip - Options for a hybrid ability / AA build.

Hi, this guide is brought to you by Kriega1, I started playing Smite on PS4 in 2016 around Erlang Shen's release in Season 3, and eventually long term migrated to PC Smite around mid Season 7. I have peaked GM/Masters on PS4 and Masters in Ranked Conquest on PC. I also am a Mentor on the Official Smite Discord where I focus on general building for each role. I hope you find this guide as a useful learning resource for playing
Poseidon in the Mid lane.

Was curious on your thoughts of a Gem of Focus + Doom Orb build. I'd probably replace Chronos' Pendant for Doom, and perhaps get a Deso/Divine instead of the Book of Thoth, though I haven't tested this yet.
Also, it might not be bad to specify in the title that this is for Mid lane. Although he makes the most sense there, some may find this guide while looking for a Jungle or Solo build.
You'd pretty much just do the Sands build but with Focus or if u want to go Hybrid AA you'd go Focus, Dorb, Deso, Nimblecroft, Typhon's, Hastened
