You don’t need to build 30% cdr on Isis. She gets 10% from her passive, and lategame you can pick up power pot for another 10%, leaving just 20% from items to reach the cap.

Also Bancrofts loses some relevance lategame on Burst mages, and considering you lack Obsidian Shard in this build I would swap Bancrofts for Pythags (has 10% pen) and revise your build order.

Suggested build:

Start: Mage's Blessing, Tiny Trinket, 2 Healing Potions, 2 Mana Potions.

Build: Shoes of the Magi, Pythagorem's Piece, Spear of Desolation, Soul Reaver, Typhon's Fang, sell Mage's Blessing for Staff of Myrddin, Buy Elixir of Speed and Sell boots late for Rod of Tahuti.

With this build you have 40% pen, 20% cdr from Deso and Myrddin (+10% from stacked Isis passive and 10% from Potion of Power that you can buy lategame).

It’s up to you, granted the way I listed the build is for a better power curve.

Ok Brian, major improvement from what you had before (4 lifesteal items, no boots, etc).

However I'll let others such as branmuffin, devampi, and kriega be the final judge for how optimal the build is

I agree the conquest build is a lot better compared to the last one. I do have to say it's slightly unclear what the order is gonna assume bancroft's is a blessing substitute.

My biggest tip would be to swap the positions of fang and bancroft's. The 10% pen is nice however bancrofts is cheapaer and provides the better sustain and power as long as you aren;t running on full health.

in the other mode builds I would go either Doom Orb or bancrofts not both. Would exchange it for an obsidian shard or charon's coin for more % pen to be a threat to everyone no just squishies.

Hey Brian,

I'll provide a bit more feedback regarding why your choices aren't very optimal.
  • In some of your build examples, you've built 4 lifesteal items + Shoes of the Magi (replaced late). Lifesteal caps at 65% FYI. Also, building that much also makes it extremely easy and obvious for the enemy to counter you with anti-heal items, rendering the majority of your build inefficient when they do. When you go with lifesteal, you want to choose based on how well you'll use those items. Bancroft's (and sometimes w/ Typhon's later) is good for gods that have to get closer to enemies. Soul Gem is good if you can easily land hits on enemies to build stacks for that group heal and burst damage (Isis can use this one well). Pythag's (sometimes also paired with Typhon's but not often these days) is most functional for teamfights and also serves to provide %pen.

  • Eset has good poke with her 1 and 2. This means you typically want to build a good amount of CDR. Unfortunately, you only have 10%, which IMO is just not enough. I'd say 30% is a sweet spot (max is 40%).

  • Flat pen, as Kriega mentioned, is important to have. It's more effective against squishy gods (that don't build protections).

  • Teleport Glyph is typically used by Solo laners in Conquest, as their lane is far, and losing out on minion waves when they back hurts their farm significantly. Mid-lane is closer, and with them being squishy, they want some form of protection/survivability. This typically means the two relics you will get by default are Purification Beads (to get you out of CC) and Aegis Amulet (to make you briefly invulnerable to incoming damage). Meditation Cloak is honestly an awful choice here.

  • Pestilence, Contagion, and Toxic Blade are all bad choices for a standard mage. Toxic is for basic attackers, BTW, and should never, ever be built on Isis. Your one choice for anti-heal is Divine Ruin...keep that as an option (which also is close to core as it's one of your main flat pen items and there's a bunch of healing in the meta right now).

These builds are really not good. No Reaver, building Book of Thoth on a character who doesen't need it, some questionable relic options (teleport, meditation), no flat pen, and listing Hecate for whatever reason.

Personally on Isis I would go something like:

MID:

Build Path 1 (Chronos' Rush):

Start - Restored Artifact, 1 Healing Potion, 1 Mana Potion OR Mage's Blessing, Lost Artifact, 2 Healing Potions and 2 Mana Potions.

Build - Shoes of the Magi > Chronos' Pendant > Divine Ruin > Soul Reaver > Charon's Coin/ Obsidian Shard > Rod of Tahuti > Elixir of Speed and Ethereal Staff.

Build Path 2 (Early Divine and Deso):

Start - Mage's Blessing, Magic Focus, Healing Potion, 2 Mana Potions.

Build - Shoes of Focus > Divine Ruin > Spear of Desolation > Soul Reaver > Charon's Coin/ Obsidian Shard > Rod of Tahuti > Elixir of Speed and Soul Gem or Staff of Myrddin.

Build Path 3 (Bancroft's Rush):

Start - Talon Trinket, 1 Healing Potion, 1 Mana Potion OR Mage's Blessing, Tiny Trinket, 2 Healing Potions and 2 Mana Potions.

Build - Bancroft's Talon > Shoes of Focus > Divine Ruin > Soul Reaver > Typhon's Fang > Staff of Myrddin > Elixir of Speed and Soul Gem or Rod of Tahuti or Pythagorem's Piece.

Alright, we need to do some clean up here. That is way too much lifesteal. You'll get diminishing returns.
