Introduction

"Somebody gon get their *** kicked!
Somebody gon get their wig spliit!
Beat him up, beat him up!
Break his neck, break his neck!"

Heyaaas!

Ferr again. This time, it's a joke (but not at all a joke) build for Kumbhakarna.

Dark complexion. Stocky build. Where have i seen this before? Of course!

(Click on the link. It'll make reading the guide much more fun.)

Enjoy beating up fools senseless!

Preface: Why damage?

I've always loved the notion of breaking metas (Just like how Henry likes to break legs, kek), especially ones involving using gods that are supposed to be tanky. They provide excellent cc opportunity in lieu of excellent damage. For example, Mage Bacchus. Bacchus can afford to build damage because he gets extra protections from his first ability, and also because his ultimate provides a power boost. Also mage Ymir. His passive is devastating when combined with a damage build.

After some games, i find that building damage Kumbhakarna is also a fun pick. Kumbhakarna's kit provides excellent damage and cc at the same time.

Of course, this is not at all for serious gamemodes like Conquest. I prefer to use this build in other gamemodes that has other teammates to engage the enemies as well, then have Kumbhakarna swoop in to deliver huge spots.

Abilities and Combos

Passive: Sleepy

Pretty straightforward: Every 4 minutes, instead of dying, Kumbhakarna instead goes into sleep mode; during sleep mode, Kumbhakarna can activate his 3rd ability to mesmerize enemies that are too close. Enemies will then need to land a set amount of basic attacks to Kumbhakarna in order to score a kill.

This passive is quite useful; even if you're not building tanky, the amount of basic attacks needed doesn't change. At higher levels, nothing short of an adc or assassin will be able to land enough basic attacks to kill you in time. This provides teammates with a great distraction as well, since enemies have a tendency to target a sleeping Kumbhakarna in order to score a free kill.
Ability #1: Running Body Block ( Throw Back)

This ability is a dash, which stops at the first god or minion hit. If it hits a minion, the minion is then thrown back, dealing damage to everything in its' path. The damage from the thrown back minion is more damaging than the damage of the actual dash, so if you can make the shot, feel free to try and hit enemy gods with enemy minions.

The ability is a great damage dealer (if you can land it) to clear minions, damage enemy gods, or to escape and chase.

Level this ability second.

Ability #2: Double Axe Handle ( Groggy Strike)

This ability lands damage to all enemies in front of Kumbhakarna after a small delay, rooting them.

The damage is quite impressive, and the root provides kumbhakarna with a nice chance to land further attacks to enemies.

Level this ability first instead of Throw Back, as this ability has less error factor and easier to land.

Ability #3: Mighty Yawn

This ability mesmerizes enemies around a certain radius of Kumbhakarna. If enemies are awaken early, enemies lose attack speed and are slowed.

This ability is great to interrupt abilities, and to keep mobile gods in place, enabling Kumbhakarna or teammates to land further attacks and proc the extra effect on the enemies.

Level this skill last, because we'll need the damage on the other skills early, and the extra effects will harm adcs and assassins more in later portions of the game.

Ability #4: Very European Uppercut ( Epic Uppercut)
-> (Maybe should have been Indian Uppercut, but there's no such thing. Oh well.)

This ultimate is a fun one; it damages twice, on knockup and landing. The landing damage also affects enemies in an area effect, too.

Targeting squishies is a great fun with this ability, not to mention the lower cooldown time as you level up. It also means that in emergency situations, you can use it to escape, too.

Combos

Pre-ultimate: Groggy Strike -> Polynomicon -> Mighty Yawn -> Throw Back
Keep the enemy god in place with Groggy Strike, strike the rooted enemy with a basic attack thus activating Polynomicon, mez them with Mighty Yawn, and do further damage and proc the yawn's extra effect with Throw Back.

Ultimate: Groggy Strike -> Polynomicon -> Epic Uppercut -> Mighty Yawn -> Throw Back

Same as pre-ultimate, except you can insert an Epic Uppercut, using your 3rd ability when the enemy has landed.

Reversal: Epic Uppercut -> Groggy Strike -> Polynomicon -> Mighty Yawn -> Throw Back

Instead of uppercutting a rooted enemy, you can instead engage an enemy with the ultimate first, then rooting them when they have landed with Groggy Strike. Follow up with a polynimicon basic attack, then mesmerize the enemy, and continue with Throw Back.

Feel free to make up some of your own, one of why this playstyle is so fun is the options available.

Itemization

Shoes of Focus

Kumbhakarna benefits from cooldown reduction as he is cc-heavy, allowing him ti activate them in rapid successions as fast as possible.

That's why i prefer the cdr boots on Kumbhakarna. The extra mana helps, too.

Chronos' Pendant

Pretty straightforward; more cdr for more cc and damage.

Polynomicon

This is a fun item; to proc its' passive, feel free to keep enemies in place with Groggy Strike or Mighty Yawn and land a basic attack.

Obsidian Shard

Cost-effective penetration option, the flat damage increase is solid as well.

Rod of Tahuti

Self-explanatory

Soul Reaver

Great flat damage increase, and the extra damage from the passive is amazing.

Conclusion

With amazing cc capabilities, mobility, and damage potential, Kumbhakarna excels in ambush situations and locking down opponents.

Thank you for reading Hall of Pain! - Damage Kumbhakarna! As always, feel free to leave comments and suggestions. I'll try to work on more for the guide. Special thanks to BranMuffin17 for input.
