Hello everyone,
This is my first build, I hope it does well. First of all, I'd like to preface this guide with the standard: "This is the way I play Freya, there are other (potentially better) ways to play her." If you like it, awesome! If not, well I'm sure you'll find a build that you like.
Freya is a great God. If your team-mates are cooperative, and useful, you can be a huge help. If they're jerking around, you can seriously mess with them. Most importantly though, your team-mates need gold too. So while you can steal kills, don't steal every kill!
Shoes of the Magi:
This item is pretty important to give you the initial magical power that you need. It's important, because if you go into your lane/obelisk without any magical power, you're not going to be much help.
Obsidian Shard:
This gives you some more starting magical power, without being overly expensive. I prefer to build magical power before I build attack speed, because I would rather deal more damage overall than less damage quickly.
Book of Thoth:
If you're playing a game mode where this isn't banned (i.e. anything but assault), you absolutely should get this. It gives more mana, as well as a ton of magical power. Again, magical power is extremely useful for Freya, she needs it to do the extreme amounts of damage that she is capable of doing, and this item gets you closer to that amount.
Fatalis:
This item gives you a ton of attack speed, which is really useful for Freya once she has some damage. If someone's running, you can deal all of your damage a lot quicker, and most of the time, it'll get you the kill. Some people like to build attack speed first, but I think it's more beneficial to have high amounts of damage, before you can spam the hell out of your attack. You could swap the placement of this item with the Obsidian Shard if you really wanted to, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Once you've got those core items, you can choose whatever you want, I recommend: Polynomicon and
Rod of Tahuti
Polynomicon:
This gives you some additional lifesteal (very useful in a gank situation) as well as some more magical power.
Rod of Tahuti
This just gives you a ton of magical power.
With this full build, you get:
A whopping 586 magical power (not counting stacks on Book of Thoth)
25 magical lifesteal
1945 health
1635 mana
42 MP5
470 movement
General choices are:
Aegis Amulet
This is an awesome item for certain enemies. For example, Loki,
Tyr, or other
Freyas. Some people will buy this in order to avoid your ultimate, and that can be really annoying.
Combat Blink and
Creeping Curse somewhat accomplish the same objective. You can use them both if someone is trying to run away, but you can't use
Creeping Curse as a defensive active. You can, however, use
Combat Blink for defense, say, to get out of
Hades' ultimate.
Restoration Shard
I don't use this much, but you can if you're having some serious health problems (against Hel, for example]].
If you're playing Assault, Salvation is an absolute must!. It heals and restores mana to you, as well as to those in your vicinity. I really hate it when people don't buy this is Assault, because it's extremely helpful.
Brisingamen's Blessing (Passive):
This gives you 15 magical lifesteal, which is useful when you're killing minions.
Irradiate:
This is useful if your Pulse is on cooldown, or in tandem with it. It boosts the amount of magical damage that you do. If you've just finished using your
Pulse, and someone has only a few hundred HP left, you can use this to finish them off.
Pulse:
This is your main source of damage. It provides extreme amounts of damage (both direct, and AOE) and slows any target it hits. If your target isn't running, either out of stupidity or a stun, you can you your Irradiate at the same time as you use your
Pulse, and it will seriously boost the damage you do per shot. This is my preferred method of attack.(NOTE: If you have
Irradiate active at the same time, you don't get the AOE or the slow.)
Banish:
This lifts your enemies (Gods and minions alike) into the air for a few seconds. You can use this to save your team-mates, to escape, to waste people's skills (they won't work while they're floating), to stop people from getting healed, to stop people from getting away, my personal favorite, to seriously piss people off, etc.
Valkyrie's Discretion:
Freya flies into the air, and shoots four projectiles that deal huge amounts of damage. This is an awesome finisher. If people are running away at low health, they are no match for this. It can also help your team-mates, if you have an especially troublesome enemy.
Pros:
1) Extreme amounts of damage with a completed, and mostly even almost completed, build.
2) If you're being chased, her Banish is a great way to get away
3) She can use her Pulse alongside her
Irradiate to decimate most players (with a full build, you can kill a tanky-build Ymir in about five shots (give or take one shot)).
Cons:
1) Incredibly squishy, especially if everything is on cooldown.
2) Certain Gods can dominate her, no matter how much skill they have (ex. Isis).
3) If you don't get a good start, money-wise, it'll be much more difficult to catch up.
4) She's pretty mana hungry until you get your Book of Thoth.
Freya is a great jungler. She's kind of weak starting off, but once you get a little higher level, you can start to chew those creeps out! Plus, as an added bonus, while she's jungling she can easily jump into lanes for ganks (if people don't see her coming, there's no escape... Unless they have an escape.) or to help finish off towers.
If you're going to jungle, you should get Bumba's Mask and
Hand of the Gods before you get your
Shoes of the Magi
At level 20, she can easily kill the gold fury, and can deal a serious amount of damage to the Fire Giant.
*Important*: as with all junglers, if you don't gank, you'll be severely out-level'd by the end of the game. You cannot succeed jungling as Freya unless you keep your level at the average (or higher, if you want.)
Even though Freya is a huge kill-stealer, she can easily benefit her team, in team fights, ganks or chases. If she combines her Irradiate with her
Pulse, she can deal a pretty serious amount of damage, and help her team with a particularly powerful enemy. If someone starts to run, her
Banish can easily solve that problem. If someone needs a gank, or gets ganked, she can easily help out.
All in all, if you don't steal too many kills, you can really help your team as Freya.
Freya is an awesome God. Her huge amount of damage easily makes up for her squishy-ness, and she can provide a pretty substantial amount of help to her team-mates. She can steal kills, she can get people kills and she can save peoples' lives.
She can play tons of different roles (jungler, solo-er, duo-er) and can really benefit her team.
On the other hand, if your team-mates are useless, rude, or otherwise annoying, she can easily ruin their day.
I hope you enjoyed this guide! Please comment any suggestions that you may have, as well as any constructive criticism!

What are some good actives to use on Freya? I'm a new player of Smite, by the way. I do have a lot of experience with similar MOBAs though.
Another note for the author; I like this build a lot. I've only played two games as Freya, and I have dominated both games, averaging 21/3/12. They might be level 9 games, but still. My last game my team was feeding my mid laner (which was Apollo for some reason. I don't know if that is normal... xD). Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your guide. I may not be the best critic though because I'm only level 9 at the moment though.
I've updated, and added some actives! Thanks for reminding me!
Okay, about item build's flexibility, you might want to reconsider some things.
Let's say duo lane has died twice, and the enemy is Neith and Aphrodite. Neith is also a level above you, and she is very fast with her backflip. Also, the enemy has a very strong Mercury jungle. You could very well consider witch stone as an attractive option, which not only helps with mobility, but also gives some damage thanks to the attack speed, as well as reduce the effectiveness of the enemy Neith and Mercury.
You could put out an option to replace
Thanks for the comment! I'm going to consider all of my options, and update the guide some.

Okay, you make some good points. I'll update the guide.

I believe that what Subzero meant is that your build don't fit all game scenarios. Saying
In a matchup where you are facing many magical gods, or having problem with a fed one, it is a nice idea to build
The point is that games are not always the same, sometimes you will be facing some stuff and other times you will be facing others, that's why, in order to have a complete guide, you should put some variety in your build, so people can choose what to build, based on their adversaries.
Guide looks fine, keep up the good work. add more stuff to it and it may get very good ;3
Build
Completely and utterly inflexible. For example, what will you if the enemy had tons of healers? What about gods like
Try to give a "core" build of 3-4 items, and the rest are situational.
Freya isn't a very flexible God, at least in my opinion. She only really works if she's able to run in, dish out her damage, and then get away if her target isn't dead. When she get's silenced, she can't really do anything. Of course, you could get something like
Skills/Items Explanations
Skills are basically the description copy and pasted onto the guide. You also give poor reasons to get those items. Also, I don't like your build, because it feels too cost heavy on the front end, and some of the items, like
Concerning the skills/items sections, I agree. I'm working on it. In regards to the
Gameplay
There is absolutely no useful information here. Try to pretend that the people who will read this guide have no idea how to play Freya. That is why it is called a guide, see?
I'm not trying to teach people how to play Freya, I'm trying to give them the advice they need to learn on their own. That's the way I learned, and I feel like it's a lot more fun. I don't want to pollute someone's sense of the "right" way to play Freya. As such, I've given some tips, what to do, what to avoid, and now it's up to those playing Freya to figure out how they like to play her.
Details
Lacks coding, but it's not unpleasant to read.
Could use some general expansion all around, and you need to remove the stupidly vague "tips," such as "if someone needs a gank or gets gank, she can easily help out."
Okay, coding problems. Fair enough, it's the first build I've written, I'll work on it. Again, situational vagueness is my way of allowing people to discover the way they like to play Freya. In the case of your quotation, ganks are pretty simple, and they don't differ from the norm for Freya. Run in behind someone, surprise them, kill them.
Summary
Incomplete, not very pretty, and most of the guide is just general tips and stuff copypasta'd from the wiki. Downvote.
I'm open to fixing it, if you develop. I don't know what you mean by "incomplete" and "not very pretty". The important part of this, the part that I actually wanted to get out, was the build. The "guide" is just some advice. Nothing here was copypasta'd from anywhere, it's all original content.
Also, if you have updated this guide and wish me to change my review, give me a PM. I might change my vote.
Will do. Overall, thanks for the advice. I'll work on it.
I DIED LIKE 420 TIMES USING THIS BUILD
*sigh*
