Basically the whole point to this Yamir build is to get max focus with some damage, while remaining tanky. I find in all matches you really shouldn't need more then
Bulwark of Hope and
Sovereignty to remain tanky while the
Void Stone and
Rod of Tahuti will make sure that anyone not stacking magic protection are basically dead.
Really this build works for all game types as yamir is a great tower holder in domination, a great lane partner with a high dps character in conquest, and a great initiator in arena.
Please let me know of any critiques to this guide that will make it better!
Seeing the point of this build is focus all of the items have focus on them even though it does go over the cap of 100 at the end. The
Void Stone puts you at 105 just over the cap and the
Spear of the Magus is picked up just basically for the added damage and penetration with the ability/ult combo Yamir has. It is the 6th item I prefer but you can choose a different one. It is basically just a filler item and any other damaging item could be choosen or you could pick up more protection if you wish to go tankier you can.
Boots of Celerity are the first item you get because of the cooldown reduction for your stuns, the focus given, and the speed boost relative to other boots.
Next you can either get both of your abilities sprint and
Aegis Amulet or you can go right for the winged wand. The sprint and aegis gives you more survivability early on and literally ungankable even without a having a movement ability.
The winged wand I feel gives a little less survivability but still good with massive health, movement speed, immunity to slows, and focus to increase your stuns and this build is all about the focus!
Bulwark of Hope is my third item because of the massive health, damage reduction if below 25% health, and gives you focus. It is seriously a ridiculous item to have early game and basically makes you unkillable by mages unless you eat basically three ults. Even then you will probably survive and be able to just pop sprint to run away.
Sovereignty is my fourth item because it just rounds out your tankyness with massive health/focus/physical protection. If you were killable before you definitely are not now.
Breastplate of Valor is an alternate choice. It doesn't give you the health or the aura but it maxes out your cooldown so you can freeze even more!
Void Stone is my fifth item because not only do you get more magical protection for increased tankyness but you gain magical power/focus/and a great magic protection reduction aura. Really ramps up the damage done to anyone who is stupid enough to stay in your ult.
For the last item I would just go with your favorite magic damage item be it
Rod of Tahuti,
Book of Thoth,
Spear of the Magus or any other item. It really just solidifies your player killing ability.
You will want to level up
Glacial Strike first, then
Shards of Ice,
Frost Breath, and finally
Ice Wall.
Farming Creeps
Just farm all the archers with
Glacial Strike. At around
Glacial Strike level 3 you should be able to one hit them or have them one club away from death. Don't really worry about getting hit by players at low levels because if you get hit the damage your creeps will do to them is a hell of a lot more then what they could do to you.
Players
You don't really want to go out expecting to kill anyone until you have your ultimate
Shards of Ice.
What you want to do is run up to someone and freeze them with
Frost Breath. Lay down a quick
Glacial Strike going towards their escape while they are frozen from
Frost Breath. This will slow them once they are done being frozen while doing more damage. Then finally you run towards their escape a little ways to get in front of them for the ult. This allows the enemy to make a choice, chance not being able to run from one side of your ult to the other in time for you to get the kill, or to turn back towards your teammates with low health.
Team Fights
Basically do what is stated above just try to get multiple people trapped by frost breath. Really
Frost Breath is ridiculous because with max focus it can last 3 SECONDS! (don't know why the site doesn't have updated focus skills) That is your entire channeling time for your ultimate so even if the person does have a leap if you use your ability instantly after freezing they shouldn't even have time to cast it.
If any of your teammates are around and are able to cast an ult on multiple players that are remaining still for 3 seconds it is basically over even without your ult.

Winged Wand and Sprint alone are questionable on Ymir, but even more questionable is Sprint and Winged Wand together. At the key moments in which you would use Sprint, you already have slow immunity so, the Winged Wand passive is useless in those critical situations. Rod of Tahuti seems like a waste as you only have Void Stone and The Rod itself as MPower items, so you really aren't getting that much out of the passive, especially considering how expensive it is.
Winged wand is not for the passive. It is for the focus, health, and movement speed base. Yamir doesn't have a movement ability like every other god so it enables you to catch up or run away a lot easier. Sprint also isn't used for the passive it is for getting away or catching up for a clutch freeze to allow teammates to catch up. If you think their is a better alternative to getting speed to keep up with people while maxing out focus I would like to hear the alternative.

who is yamir? hah just kidding, nice build, looks a lot like my first build of ymir (they said "use focus" so i buy all the focus **** i find XD) but i remember it works pretty well, i think i done a 10 4 that time, ery nice for a first time ymir :D nice build, thanks ;)
Yes it works very well. I have not had a game where I went negative k/d wise yet.
It works a lot better in arena/domination because of the increased team play and having multiple enemies stay still for 3 seconds is incredibly beneficial for anyone.
