introduction

Hello I am a casual smite player who likes to play cupid. I am giving you my guide of cupid. any comments are not only more then welcome they are encouraged!

ps: there will be an explaination on items and other items to think about.

pros and cons

good crowd control with his 1 and his ult
very helpfull in teamfights with stuns and with heals
easy to play

has to hit 8 times before his ult and 1 stuns
only 2 damaging abilities

abilities and how to use them

lovestruck: Every hit with a Basic Attack gives Cupid a Stack that increases the damage and healing of his abilities. At 8 Stacks, Heart Bomb and Fields of Love will also apply a 1s Stun.

heartbomb: this is his first ability. cupid fires an arrow doing 50/80/110/140/170 (+90% of your physical power) physical damage. at 8 stacks he stuns the enemy

share the love: this is his 2nd ability. he throws 3 hearts healing yourself or one of your allies. if you allies pick it up, you regain mana. it heals 30/50/70/90/110 (+25% of your physical power). and it regains you 30 mana.

flutter: this is his third ability.
Cupid flutters quickly forward, leaving a trail behind him that increases all allies movement speed. Cupid also gains Attack Speed for a short time after Fluttering! it give every allie an extra 30% movement speed.you also gain 10/15/20/25/30% attack speed.

field of love: this is his ultimate. cupid places a field of hearts damaging all enemies who are on it by 220/300/380/460/540 (+100% of your physical power). if hit by 8 stacks it does stun the enemy and do extra damage.

use your ult and heartbomb only at 8 stacks of your passive. unless you are sure to get a kill. also if you have low mana don't be afraid to throw your hearts for regaining mana. even when your allies are at full health. ask them to pick them up for mana regaining. your 3 you can use to chase, to get in a fight or to escape.

items

for starter item it depends how you play. I recommend death's toll but you can use bluestone pendant aswell. the reason I use death's toll instead of bluestone pendant is because it gives you more power. and with cupid you have a mana and health regaining ability. So I buy 1 mana potion, death's toll and the 1st tier of devourer's gauntlet.

after you leveld up devourer's gaunlet you buy hastened fatalis this becaus of it's movement speed, his attack speed and his great passive. it gives
you no movement penalty if you succesfully hit with your basic attack. yes, this gives you less movementspeed then ninja tabi, but when you attack you will see that you go faster as your enemy. wich makes you possible to dodge them while attacking him. wich is very ussefull. but you can also buy ninjatabi for it's movement speed and physical power. after that you buy or malice or ichaival. if you think attack speed is more necessary then the physical power and critical hits, buy ichaival otherwise buy malice, rage or executioner. if you want to have many crits and more physical power buy malice if you prefere the attackspeed buy executioner. then you buy rage and then deathbringer. like with most hunters. the build I gave will give you 185 physical power, 70 critical chance.

ending

well this is my way to build cupid. feel free to comment and to like or dislike this page.
that's all bye!

Yeah you're right, that's what I intended to say by "miss", not missing the target, but missing the critical, but it's way clearer the way you say it! :D
Sometimes my English finds its own limitation! xD

Actually I'd keep Malice and remove Rage to put either Jotunn's Wrath or The Executioner. Considering Cupid's abilities cooldown, I'd go for the Jotunn's Wrath, but both are interesting for hunters. And depending on your opponents, I'd probably put The Executioner instead of Devourer's Gauntlet, expect if you're the only physical-ranged god in the game, but that's very rare.

Well, I can see you kinda miss the point about Cupid here. The fact that he does have a heal means nothing, As lifesteal would be MUCH better ina fight then just spamming your 2 and walking into it while your opponent gains more health using his lifesteal and crits.

Now i could see why would you want Malice on Neith since she isn't a normal hunter and she's heavily ability based, I mean, Cupid is also kinda bility based but rage would still be the better choice, Your damage output will be higher with Rage since you really need that extra crit to deal more damage, I mean, Malice could be nice but rage is way better. And if you don't wanna believe me, You can also go into twitch and ask, trust me, Malice vs Rage has always been an important topic, But rage wins with AA gods.

So, Regarding the build itself, You have too much attack speed, And you could replace Fatalis for a warrior tab to increase your damage output, and you can exchange Ichaival for Fatalis if you still want it in the build.

and also about the Rage passive it dosen't go up if you miss, it goes up if you land a basic attack and it dosen't critically hit.

it is true that it has to much critical hits. malice I took not so much for it's crits but for his power. but you are right the executioner is better as malice. I mentioned it in the extra information.
thnx for your feedback it is appreciated

It's a nice build, but I don't think that Rage is really beeing used correctly.
With Malice, Rage and the Deathbringer you have a base 70% critical strike chance.
If you add to that the passive of Rage : if you miss, you add up 10%.
Let's do some maths.
If you miss your first (having 70% crit.), then you have 80%. You statistically have really low odds to miss more than once. In more details, you have 94% chance to have at least one critical strike after 2 hits. (1-(1-0.7 * 1-0.8) = 1-(0.3 * 0.2) = 1-0.06 = 0.94).
As a consequence, I think that you already have 1 critical strike item that you can remove and replace (either Rage or Deathbringer if you ask me). I strongly suggest to put The Executioner into this build, because you need penetration, especially with high attack speed. Also, remember that against Geb, this build won't be that efficient because of his passive that reduce critical strikes effect.

Also, Cupid being able to heal himself, maybe the lifesteal is not mandatory. You might consider adding the Jotunn's Wrath in order to get some CDR and penetration (or instead of The Executioner)

On a pure stylist comment; you should emphasis the items/abilities you are mentionning using the double square brakets.
