This build is currently undergoing development, so some parts will be missing within the build!
Welcome to the first guide of mine. This guide will be for Chronos. My main role within smite is the Jungle, however I have played my fair share of mid lane, so my understanding of the core function of this lane is still there.
This guide does go over a very common build for Chronos! It is more of a guide for a person who is new to Chronos, and wishes to learn him and his build!
Just a pre-warning: This guide is quite detailed and very bland at this moment. I am working on improving it!
The Build that we are going for massive damage with auto attacks. So the items placed in this build will help with this. In this guide i shall go through the pro's and con's of each item and skill and help you understand the allover power of this god. There may be parts missing within this guide, so leave a comment with ideas that you would like to see, as well as improvements.
Chronos' Lore:
Existence is measured in age. How many years has a mortal lived? What was the construction date of the Parthenon? When were the cosmos formed? Time begins at birth, at creation. But, inevitably, time for all things comes to an end.
Except, of course, time itself.
Bearer of the clock of eternity, rimmed by signs of the Zodiac, the Keeper of Time, Chronos, counts every tick of the second hand, preventing interference with that essential forward momentum.
If he knows who or when the eternal clock was wound, Chronos does not tell, but upon the first stroke, he came to be. Emptiness was the ocean, then, and his only companion was Ananke, Queen of Fate. Together, their powers divided the vastness into heaven and earth and sea and sky. Thereafter, Chronos became an observer, the watchman of infinity.
Patient to a fault, Chronos knows no urgency. He does not fear pain, or war, or death, for he is time itself and will outlast all. For this reason, his presence on the field of battle is alarming. This war between Gods must portend a conclusion so dire as to threaten the very existence of time. Perhaps, all the Gods should begin counting the seconds of the eternal clock. There may be few of them remaining.
Pro's
- Able to kill an enemy hero in 1v1 almost all the time late game
- Quite durable with Rewind
- Able to contribute to team fights with massive damage and stuns
- Ranged damage so can avoid getting close to a lot of god's
- Good disengagement from a fight if low in Rewind and Accelerate
- Able to regenerate life, save mana when casting abilities and deal extra damage with the Accelerate and Wheel of Time
Playing as Chronos, the Con's outweigh the Pro's early game due to the low amount of damage, life and mana you will have however, as soon as you hit mid to late game, the Pro's heavily outweigh the con's as you have 2 escapes, in Accelerate and Rewind, as well as the ability to regenerate health on the fly, stopping Accelerate on number 1 of the Wheel of Time
Con's:
- Easily killed early game
- Requires a reasonable amount of farm to become powerful
- Rewind can be difficult to pull off efficiently
- It can be difficult to use Time Rift and Stop Time effectively due to the aiming and speed of the abilities
- Difficult to stop assassins such as
and
due to their huge damage output and, for Loki his stuns and bleeds, and for Fenrir his lifesteal and ability to stay next to you with Brutalise
- Low Defense so easily killed if found by more than 3
His Cons may seem to be a bad start to this hero however, most of these only affect his early game, as after playing this god for a good amount of time. Most gods struggle to kill Chronos after level 9 due to the stun, Polynomicon damage and his ability to restore all of his life with Rewind
So now that you understand his Pro's and Con's, you need to understand his kit and why each item has been picked!
In summary, Chronos is an extremely powerful god, if the enemy team allows you to farm and lock down kills. Using your kill combo is extremely important just to make sure you can kill them off, before they get you. Be aware of assassins, as they are going to try to kill you before you get chance to farm yourself up, and be extremely aware of junglers, as they will rip through your life in early game.
If you have any advice in how to improve this guide! Feel free to leave it.

29/1/14:
Updated the guide to contain information about newly added items, as well as the skill changes. Added Hastened Fatalis to the build, and changed the idea of Fatalis in the items section. Changed Hastened Fatalis to Fatalis after fully understanding the affect of Accelerate.

Okay, first up;
The build is flawed. Don't get me wrong. The items are good, and they contain my favorite way of playing Chronos, but you got it wrong there. telekinesis ring is like mystical mark in the sense that the eariler you get it the more effective it is. Late game it is useless. Rod of Tahuti is a bad choice as a second item, for Chronos even more. And if youare going fora pure auto-attack build, Demonic Grip is a must.
My recommended build for Chronos is Shoes of the Magi, Fatalis, Demonic Grip, Polynomicon, gem of biding and Rod of Tahuti.
You should also add Breastplate of Valor as a situational item.
Now, as for the skills, they are way wrong.
First, the skill order is messed up. Getting Accelerate as your first skill won't do you good when starting the game in the jungle. You'd fare better with Time Rift. Afterwards you should put 1 point into Stop Time and only then for 1 point towards Accelerate. Then, max your Time Rift and move to Accelerate and not Stop Time as you start building some attack speed items like demoinc grip and Fatalis.
Also, remove the skill description.
There also too many colors, my eye hurt.
The correct way of weave clearing as Chronos is to use Accelerate in the II section for the mana refund, use Stop Time on the wave and Time Rift on the archer minions. If you can stack the minion wave with your auto attacks and hit all of them with Time Rift it's ideal.
This guide has some light spots, but it lacks information and its core build and skills are flawed.
A downvote from me and I hope you'll expand and fix it in the future. Farewell.
Thanks for the feedback, I havnt really played Chronos since the change to his Accelerate, but recently, i have gone back to playing him in order to improve this guide, and i must say the feedback that you have given has really improved my style of play on this god. I have now changed most of the parts you said about, so hopefully it will be more helpfull for newer players to play this excellent god!
Thanks again!
