Introduction

Hello there, i am mánga (manga was already taken^^). I am quite new to smite, but i have a lot of MOBA experience (playing LoL since its release).

This guide is about my favourite God, Bastet. The most fun God i played yet and "overpowered" if you play her right. She excels at midgame and if you are ahead at lategame as well. Bastet has a lot of tricks up her sleeve and if you master them you can carry games real hard, but more about that later^^

This is a sidelane guide with some jungle included for Conquest, read further for more information =)

Here you can see what Bastet is capable of:

Items

I always buy the same items as shown above in that order.

Start with which leaves you with more than enough money to get some
My goal is to finish as fast as possible to start stacking it, with some Stacks you will find yourself dealing tons of damage, which also makes this purchase very risky, because you lose all your stacks on lose.

Following up i finish my
provides the best stats for Bastet out of the Boots

I am really a big fan of this item. helps at clearing the jungle, aura, resistance and damage, if it had Lifesteal too, this item would be overpowered^^

DAMAGE DAMAGE DAMAGE! there is no better item to increase your DPS (Note: Ingame icon is different)

Notes:
(Skip if they have only 1 phyiscal damage dealer, but never happened to me yet.)
Consider selling if you find yourself dying a lot (losing your stacks too often)
Always get 1-3 when you go back to base, if your money allows it

Last item is depending on the game:
if the enemys stack armor i tend to get a
if you want to get Lifesteal is the perfect item

Abilities

There are only 3 Abilities i consider getting on Bastet:

Sprint perfect ability for chasing/escaping
this ability is a must if you face opponents like Ares (it counters a lot of ultis)
this ability is a must if the enemy Setup has 3 or more Crowd Controls (slows/stuns/fears,...) (Note: this ability does not break Ares Ulti!)

Skills

Bastet pounces to her target location, damaging enemies within 20 feet for 110 / 170 / 230 / 290 / 350 (+100% of your physical power) physical damage. For 4 seconds after pouncing, you can press the button again to pounce back to your initial location.

Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.

Cooldown: 12 s.

it would need a 10 minute video to show you the potential of this skill! depending on how you use this makes the difference between a bad/good/pro Bastet!
There are so many things you can do with this skill:

[*] jump over walls (on the sidelane you can jump to 3 Buff Locations) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW
[*] jump to enemys to harass and get back without taking any/much damage
[*] when being chased, there are 2 things to do: you jump away and run, if you are being chased you use the skill again after putting some distance to it and run into the other direction, if he stops chasing you, keep running
[*] if you are chasing a running enemy, always jump a little ahead of him!

Razor Claws Bastet swipes at her enemies, causing them to bleed for 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+35% of your physical power) physical damage for 4 s.

Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana.

Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 s.

[*] your harass/farm skill, nothing much to say about, deals a lot of damage over time and you can farm the backwave (archers) after putting 4 points into this skill and having decent items.

Nine Tails Bastet lashes her weapon, unleashing a projectile that does 70 / 120 / 170 / 220 / 270 (+100% of your physical power) physical damage and slow the enemy by 35% for 3 s in an 8 foot radius.

Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.

Cooldown: 10 s.

[*] this skill is sometimes really hard to land, if your enemy is moving a lot, this needs a lot of practice
[*] it is very important to land this skill when chasing because it is your only slow
[*] i also use this skill to farm the backwave (archers) lategame, it deals aoe dmg and kills all 3 archers while i use Razor Claws to farm the front wave

Cat Call Bastet summons 3 cats that attack nearby targets for 10s, slowing them by 20% and doing 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 (+20% of your physical power) physical damage per hit. Sensing the smell of blood, the cats will attack bleeding enemies first. The summoned cats gain more health per rank.

Cost: 90 / 95 / 100 / 105 / 110 mana.

Cooldown: 90 s.

This ulti is too powerful early-mid game. It secures me almost every game a kill when i hit level 5.
[*] If you land your and R, you can bring down every enemy at level 5
[*] Lategame this ulti gets less effective, because in teamfights your cats die from aoe attacks quite fast, but thats all right, because it is still very effective in small squirmishes if you wait for the enemys to cast their skills before your summon your cats

Laning/Jungle

Level 1-4:
[*] keep farming and be patient
[*] try to keep the lane pushed, but dont trade with the enemys, because minions deal way too much dmg earlygame
[*] try to keep your health up
[*] only go for a kill if your enemys overextend and make mistakes, otherwise wait to get your ulti which will secure you firstblood
[*] Remember to jump over walls if you need to escape a sticky situation (3 Buff camps located near the walls)

Level 5-13:
[*] this is where Bastet truly shines, depending on your lanepartner, you can start engages
[*] dodge enemy skills, harass, if they get to 3/4 hp or lower, go in for the kill
[*] before you go back to Base, check your HP, if you have enough to do a jungle camp jump over the wall and do it quick, recommend always buying at least 2 Healting Potions when you go to base

long story short: focus on picking up kills, you should be able to outtrade almost every god midgame, clear the jungle with your quickly, this way i am always the first one to reach Level 20, even before mid.

Level 13+:
actually the same as 5-13 but with more roaming and focus on big Map Objectives such as Gold Fury and Fire Giant. This is also where Teamfights should take place, try to get into the fight a little bit later than your mates. Consider yourself the cleanup service

Final Words

This was my first guide and it is not complete yet.
Feel free to leave a comment below or add me in game for further questions, I appreciate feedback. Sorry for my bad grammar

Plans for the future:
[*] Videos
[*] Pictures
[*] Matchups
[*] Lanepartner section/Combos
[*] better format/structure
[*] maybe Arena Section, if i test her on Arena enough

Thank you for reading my guide.
