@Gulf, Duck isn't talking about your build. He's talking about optimal combinations for maximum damage using that Nox + Athena combo. Bellona technically is a bad pick for that. It would be much better if you were to choose a god with high burst. Some of the ability or hybrid hunters with good ability damage, like Chernobog, Medusa, Neith, or Skadi would be best.
This strategy is goood, but not perfect. Countered by beads, magis cloak, good hel player, and depending on how tanky you are: spirit robe+mantle of discord.
I think you are putting a lot of confidence into the run of the mill smite player. Sure those things are counters to that comp, but those CC immunitity things counter a lot of gods as well, not just this combo.
Agreed. The powerful thing about this combo is that both are considered some of the strongest CC abilities in the game, and they're regular abilities, not ultimates. This means they can very easily outwork any standard combination of item effects, and if it's the Hel that's being targeted in your example, they won't be able to use abilities while CCd.
And things like Spirit Robe or Mantle of Discord will only help so much. You have that burst, and it's likely you're dead, even with the mitigation from Spirit. As for Mantle's stun, it might affect the Athena, but is unlikely to do so on Nox. That range is very limited (20 units), and Nox is likely to be closer to 40-50 units away.
