Obviously everyone has got that 'right in the feels' feeling when they watch a movie or play a video game. This is the thread to share it all.
I'll start us off.

So this is my first visual novel experience, Katawa Shoujo. Putting the hentai aside, it is very well written, and each route gives you amazing moral lessons and are great tear-jerkers.
This one is the ending, from Hanako's route, where she finally confesses to the main character, who thinks of her as nothing more than someone to protect. When they finally put things straight, we get this heart-wrenching scene.

This one comes from probably the "greatest guy-cry movie ever made", Warrior.
It's a story about 2 brothers raised by their abusive dad, then they fight over their differences.
Both of them join a fighting tournament, one for supporting his fellow soldier's widow, and the other one for supporting his family.
As they fight it out in the ring, they reconcile over their differences.
I'm going to omit the one everyone talks about; the death in the Lion King. It's a good one, but everyone knows it.
Anyway, here are some examples I can come up with:
SPOILER ALERT ON THIS ONE
This scene from the Iron Giant always got to me when I was a kid. Hell, I still get hit with the feels watching it to this day.
This was one of those moments where you had to sit and regain yourself after it ended for a few.
This one wasn't even fair. Like christ, it was depressing to watch. I was probably 20 or 21 when I first watched this episode, and it was definitely a tear jerker.
Excuse me while I go watch something to make me laugh now...
I wanna cry, you remind me of my cousins, you remind me of my forgotten childhood moment, you made me remembered it, i wanna cry.......
..... I missed this film, it's so wonderful...
It's easily one of the greatest animated films of all time. Such a great movie.
I also just noticed Ferrum's original post talking about video games, so I figured I'd go with that too.
As far as I can remember, there haven't been many tear jerking moments that I know of, even though I can get pretty invested in the characters I'm playing/get involved with. However, I can think of two that can probably fit this category.
From The Last of Us. I guess it's a bit of a spoiler, but this happens literally in the first 15 minutes, so it's not going too heavy into spoilers. From what I've read/seen, this also hit a lot of people.
The next one is a very interesting one. I'm not going to post a video for it because, for one, the video itself showing everything is pretty long, and two, you would have had to play the entire game for it to be that effective, but it would be the ending of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It didn't necessarily get any tear jerking in, but by the time it was over, the entire situation that unfolded was on my mind for the next few days because it was a real shame what happened:

While the game didn't give a whole lot of background information on The Boss prior to her "defecting" to the Soviet Union, as Snake progresses through his mission, more and more is revealed about The Boss, her relationship with Snake, and everything she had done for her country. They truly built her up to be this big, bad *** antagonist that Snake would eventually have to face in an epic showdown. After Snake does end up killing her and his mission is over, everything is revealed. It was her mission to defect to the Soviet Union, and after things took a different turn for the worst, there was no choice but to have her publicly labeled as a traitor to the US and killed at the hands of Snake to prevent WW3 from breaking out.
Long story short, she completed her mission, gave her life, and tarnished her name. Even before this mission, she was a hero for everything she had done, but after the mission, everyone except for a handful of people will know her as a traitor and a monster. They won't know the sacrifices she made and the lives she saved doing what she did. Like the game said at the end, she was a true patriot.
