I should say laptop.
I'm having numerous issues here with PC version:
When booting up Smite I have to click through a bunch of notification boxes I just mash through
Despite it saying that I have the 3.15 patch, Skadi is the newest character on the list.
Hades classic map icon also appears on various characters.
The loading screen also never shows the pictures of the characters, just the border.
It's a lot of bugs. I'm not sure what's going on. Never did this before

Maybe you should read those? Might give you a clue as to what the actual problem is.

My current recommendation is to check your video drivers. They might be outdated, or running some kind of feature that interferes with Smite. If you have the PTS client installed, uninstall it.
After that, uninstall and reinstall regular Smite.

If the error messages are similar, please give us a few examples.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
