Hi guys,

I'm at the beginning of my journey to league : the qualifiers!
However, I noticed that the way teams are created is a bit weird.
Here is my last game.

I was teaming up with a friend (Jivelake4301955) and we were with 2 bronze league guys (bronze V and bronze IV...) and another guy that was in the qualifying phase. On the other team, 2 Silver II, 2 Gold V and 1 Gold III.
Is that even fair to have such difference in both teams?
As we won, you might say it was, but the Nemesis was really a burden... Hopefully, we managed to communicate, which helped a lot.

I don't know what to think of all this. Is the qualifying phase supposed to give you harder and harder games until you loose to find out your level? Is that the aim?
Is it because we were in a party that we had harder opponents?

Thanks in advance for your help! :D

They tried to balance both the team's experience and the fact that you were duo-queuing (they assume you'll do better with a duo-queue than a solo queue) not their ranks.

Idk how to help with qualifiers since mine really ****ed me over, but I'd recommend trying to carry as jungle if you're confident.

Why was that game so long?

that's low elo green. a lot of mistakes in bronze that loses games are when to push for towers etc. The focus on them is lower losing a lot of people the game.

also avarage elo's
your team 1232

enemy team 1316

pretty big difference (in smite in dota it's pretty balanced) but this also probably has to do with the qualifiers having a really unstable elo for MM throwing them into a higher place.

Thanks for the support Zilby! :D
I could carry as a jungler, actually I'm quite confident in my abilities, but people were calling for roles really aggressively, so I preferred to "carry" as a support (my Geb shield saved 6 lives at least) to make sure we would have a front line during team fights.

Green, the game was long because people kept calling for the wrong decisions (poor communication, except for my friend in duo queue), not grouping up etc. Always trying to get gold furies after 30min when it was not required, trying to split push or to defend towers when we could take phenixes...
Also the jungler ( Nemesis with a weird build) kept dying because he was going on the front line while that should be my role (and Osiris). I was trying hard to tell them that I was going to engage with blink + Cataclysm, but most of the time there was no follow-up.

It sounds like I'm blaming them, but honestly I'm trying to analyze! xD
I only died once because I (felt I) had to trade my life to save the Janus. Maybe not the best trade, but as their carry and mid was down, at least the could not take much objectives if our ADC/mid were alive.

41min was long, but it could have been worst. We managed to finish the game because Medusa (fast learner compared to others I guess) understood what I was trying to do and finally used her ultimate at the perfect timing with my combo. 3 guys down, 1 other fell 10 seconds later. GAME.

@Devampi : Well, our team ELO is not "that low" (even tho it's a big difference), but only if you take mine and my friend's into account. Which does not make sense to me considering it was our third game. Or maybe it is based on casual games as well? I honestly don't know. But that's what is bothering me a bit :(

Also, the way I understand smite.guru's analysis, Neith/ Ymir were duo queing and same for Arachne/ Loki in their team.

yeah the nemesis was also queueing like the poseidon in solo (vague gure)

and you don't call it a big difference but normally elo changes in smite are around 10 (max 15 min 5) so a difference of 80. In dota it's not much as there changes are around 25

If I understand it correctly, us being in the qualifying phase does not change anything.
If it's your first game, your ELO is 1500 so you are more likely to be teaming up with lower ELO guys (How do you end up with 475 ELO?? o.O) in order to "balance" the team. Is that it? :(

Also, just to be sure : once I've finished the qualifying phase; will I be allowed to team up with more than 1 friend? I does not make sense to me that we can't have a 5 guys team in ranked...

no only duo queue.

also you can get - elo (yes it's possible) but then you should be losing on purpose

Then how do you end up having playing with a team for some competitive games? Only for casual games? :-/
That's sad! :(
