Hello my name is Kobe and this is the first build I have ever made. I figured I would start with a Ymir build because he is my favorite sup as of right now. I like this for support Ymir because he has such good damage potential and lock down. Poly is used in the build because ymir does good damage with basic attacks because of his passive and it helps with that. Soul reader is great because it definitely can be used to chip away at anybody's health. Breastplate is a great item because it gives you CDR and great protection with some mana so u can use abilities a little more.
The boots are good because they give you a little bit of CDR which helps you get more stuns off. I put gem into the build because you can stun them and then after that they get slowed 25% it is a great item to get to try and lock someone down. If you do not want gem I also recommend grabbing Mystical Mail for more physical defense. Void stone is all around helpful; it gives you more damage with protection and it makes them have less protection. The area of void stones passive will help you get the most out of your abilities especially your ult.

Boots help you for some early damage and breastplate is great for CDR and mana. Chronos pendent will help you keep using abilities and don't have to back as often. The ring will give you some attack speed with some power along with gem keeping them slowed. Last but not least Rod will give you a great power spike so u can keep breaking their spirits.

Your Support build doesn't really seem like Support...more like a bruiser/aggressive build...and your Damage build is just a different way to get damage. Just my opinion here.
