Introduction

Hi! I'm enfinity, and this is my first guide. I've only played Smite for a few months, but i really like Poseidon and wanted to make a guide for him. This is the build i use for him, so it's not a tournament or ranked tested build, just how i like to ply him.

Thanks for reading!:)

Skills

Changing Tides

This is your passive. There is a little meter at the bottom-left hand of your screen, and each time you land a basic attack, it fills up some. Using an ability makes it loose some of its progress. This means you should try to get if full before you attack an enemy god so you can be as powerful as possible.

Tidal Surge

This is your first ability. It's a slow skill shot that knocks enemies back a little. It can be pretty powerful, but it is slow so it can also be dodged. It is a great ability to use on a stunned god (or any CC, really), because they cant dodge it. It is also your 2nd best lane clear.

Trident

This is your second ability. IT modifies your basic attack so that you shoot three little waves instead of just one. It also increases your movement speed a it, making it your best escape. However, you're still not super fast and any god with a dash (ie. Agni) will probably catch you. It's also great for filling up your Changing Tides meter, because each attack fill it up.

Whirlpool

This is your third ability. It is a medium-sized AOE circle that does damage and slows anyone in it. I think it's your best minion clear. If you aim it right, you can fit an entire minion line in it, then just basic attack them. Its slow is also good for setting up a gank or combo. (see-Combos)

Release the Kraken!

This is your forth ability, your ultimate. In my opinion, it is one of the best ultimates on the game. It is a big AOE circle with one smaller inner circle. When placed, enemies in the outer ring will take minor damage, but if they are in the middle they will take huge damage and be stunned. It's really fun to use, and can be deadly in a 1-on-1 or a team fight.

Vampiric Shroud

This is the best starting item for mages in my book. The health and mana you get for minion kills really help,
