Introduction

Bacchus, the god of wine, is a tanky mage who excels in CC and AOE damage. Here I try and explain why I think going a high magic power build results in wins.

Items

The items I chose haven't failed my thus far. I have a mix of high magic power and high resistances to make it so I can get into the fight and unload my entire arsenal safely.

1. Your first item depends on who you think you'll be laning against. If your lane opponent is predominately physical damage, Start with a Wall of Absolution. The wall provides a solid amount of physical resistance and power along with some MP5 so you can spam abilities slightly more than normal. If your lane opponents are predominately magic damage, start with a Void Stone, it provides a large amount of magic resist and power. I normally buy rank 2 of either of these as my starting item, I feel like belly flop gives me ample escape early on.

2. For your second item I would choose Boots of the Magi. Even though he needs to be tanky, these boots provide a large amount of mana which allows you to use abilities in lane without feeling like you're being punished.

3. The third item is going to be whatever the first item that you didn't get was. If you took Void Stone take Wall of Absolution and vice versa.

4. You're going to want a bit more damage at this point, and Gem of Isolation is perfect. It provides everything we need, magic power and tankiness.

5. By your fifth item you're going to a little squishy especially when the other team has had the chance to build damage. Pick up a Hide of the Leviathan to bring you back in line with the rest of the players.

6. By this point the game either ended, or is really close. Pick up a Polynomicon to pile drive people after you've jumped in for some extra damage.

In regards to rank up order I prioritize as follows.

Rank 3 Void Stone/Wall of Absolution,Rank 3 Wall of Absolution/Void Stone, Rank 3 Boots of the Magi, Rank 3 Gem of Isolation, Rank 3 Hide of the Leviathan, Rank 3 Polynomicon.

Skills

Bacchus' skills have amazing utility and his abilities are why his team fight presence is so huge. His 1 ability gives him the boost he needs for his 2/3/4 abilities, along with giving him a nice little physical power boost to be able to damage between cooldowns. His 2 ability is a fantastic gap closer/CC and I believe his best ability. His 3 when drunk, provides a fantastic AOE stun, unfortunately it's fairly dodge-able. His 4/ult ability gives him a huge Physical power steroid along with a large damage nuke and the drunken effect towards his opponents, making it so escape is harder than normal.

Creeping

Bacchus has the ability to murder creep waves in two different ways. One way being with his 1 ability and being smashed provides an absurd amount of physical power early, so you can melee down creep waves faster than most mages can aoe down yours. Or you can go the way of the mage and belly flop/burp the entire creep wave down.

Pros/Cons

Pros:
- Incredible aoe potential.
- Devastating aoe CC.
- Good escape tools.
- Beats people with a turkey leg.

Cons:
- Melee puts him in a tough position in some lanes.
- He is mana hungry for a large portion of the game.
- His early laning can be rough.
- Fairly high cooldowns.

Summary

In conclusion, I think Bacchus is easily one of the best Gods in smite atm. His pros are so good that his cons just get overshadowed. He can take a hit and dish it back in a devastating aoe. Pick this hero if you're looking to be a great team player, as everyone will thank you for just disrupting and destroying everything.

I added some color, added abilities and items correctly. What else could/should I add?

I'm smashed 90% of the game (Unless I die lol). I spam 1 in fountain then maintain it from there. I guess I could have a more spammy nature if I ran meditation.

As Asmoday said, add some color and the BBC codes like [ icon="Insert item or God here" size=64 ]
minus the spaces between the brackets.
Your item explanations are nice, enough depth and understanding but also straight to the point just add some color to this guide and it'll liven up fast

and to Asmoday, I don't usually buy meditation as I don't generally spam THAT much. I understand the passive is good but I have played with it a few games and I just don't feel it's a necessity. And in terms of Hide of Leviathan, I put it in there because it provides decent protection and some health that I could use pretty bad at that point in the game since everything except Gem doesn't provide health.

You should be spamming your 1 to keep yourself smashed, I dont think that is what you are doing because of you saying you dont need it. Hide is not a good item for anyone ever. The boots are better and then you can build wall of abso if you want to go magic. He already gets a passive magic protection and thats enough with your CCs to ignore them.

Lickalottapuss, If you check, Bacchus has Magic Power ratios on 3 of his 4 abilities. Belly Flop is a 70% magic damage ratio, Burp is 15% and his ult is 70%. I appreciate your polite way of putting in your word. But check his ratios again :).

Well My bad lol, On Smite Fire it doesn't show the ratios but your right in game it does.

Use the BBC codes for items and skills.

Take out the spaces from the brackets:
[ [spear of the magus] ]
Spear of the Magus

Skills work this way as well.

Ad some color to things, not much is really needed tho. Just on titles and things to break up the block of grey and white.

meditation is something that you HAVE to pick up on him. With the current way the game is you would be a fool not too. The passive that is always on made the viable now and render blue buff useless.

Some items I dont agree with, I prefer him as physical anyhow, but magic is viable as well.

Hide of Leviathan dont buy this lol. Terrible defense item to have. The reinforced boots alone are better.

Leviathoth,

Just quickly not to be mean Bacchus's Abilities do not scale with Magic Power, They have base Magic damage but that's it.
So items such as Boots of the Magi and Gem of Isolation you would probably want to steer clear from because they bring insignificant benefits to him.
