What's going on, Stuke here again for another guide. This guide will be focused on the True Pharaoh of Egypt, but now the Benevolent King of the Afterlife, Osiris.
Note: you don't have to follow this guide to the smallest detail, these are suggestions on how to play Osiris. I encourage you to look at the comment section below and see other suggestions.

Who is Osiris?

Osiris is a Physical, Melee, Warrior that relies on getting close to his opponents and deal a considerable amount of auto-attack damage. His abilities are used more for catching up to your opponent instead of dealing damage. With his utility, control, and built-in damage mitigation, Osiris can be a dangerous god to box 1v1 against.

Pros / Cons

  • High Defense
  • High Basic Attack Damage
  • Damage Mitigation
  • Little Mobility
  • Wonky Crowd Control
  • Steep Learning Curve

Osiris is definitely not for beginners, his wonky crowd control, lack of sustain, and difficult time closing/widening the gap between him and his enemies will give new Osiris players a very difficult their first time with this god. Once you do get past his difficulty curve, he can be a lot of fun. Osiris' high defense, natural damage mitigation, and ability to whittle down his opponents with his basic attack and abilities make him one of the better warriors for those who like to box.

This is a unique passive, especially when compared to other designated tank characters. Every time Osiris uses an ability, he loses a body part and each loss gives him damage mitigation. When you lose all part, you are immune to slows, unaffected by movement penalties from your basic attacks, and can walk through player-generated structures; examples being Ymir’s Ice Wall and Odin’s Ring of Spears.

Sickle Strike
This ability lets you throw your sickle and when it hits an enemy god, you slow them for a duration. Due to this ability's relatively short cooldown, make full use of it to harass your opponent and keep them slowed or you can use this to deal with objectives as well as jungle camps especially when you have your other damage ability online.

Spirit Flail
Your main clear and poking power. When you hit a target with Spirit Flail, you gain a movement speed increase. When followed after Sickle Strike, the percentage and duration of the slow are increased. Perfect for harassment from a distance without putting yourself in danger and makes for a good ganking tool if playing jungle.

Judgement Tether
This ability works well in a boxing match against one or more gods as it reduces any damage to you from enemy gods caught in your tether. When the duration of this ability is up any opponent stuck in your tethers is stun for a duration which makes a kill even more simple. The only problem is that they can get away easily so the control on Osiris is very wonky and hard to use.

Lord of the Afterlife
When you use this ability, you leap and deal damage upon landing. Any enemy who got caught in the AOE gets rooted for a second and has their healing reduced by 100%. Using this ability uses up any remaining parts on Osiris. This ability can be used as an escape or an initiation.

Osiris is one of the best auto-attack warriors for his ability to take punches like a champ and keep fighting. Utilizing his hit chain and abilities to shift the fight into his favor in the long run, Osiris might not out damage but he can deal with large amounts of damage putting the fight in his favor.

Death's Toll
One of the better starters for Osiris. Every basic attack against an enemy provides health and mana back. Since Orisis's basics can cleave, your sustain will go through the roof if there are enough targets within basic distance.
At Lvl 20, we will upgrade this to Death's Embrace to take those stats and effect even more potent.

Warrior's Axe
If you're looking for a safer starter for Solo then this is the item for you. Every attack made against an enemy god will take that target's health and give it to you before going on a short cool down.
At Lvl 20, we will upgrade this to Sundering Axe to take those stats and effect even more potent.

Makinin Scepter
Every basic attack you land on an enemy will have their attack speed reduced and deal damage over time that will refresh every time you successfully hit them with an auto with Jungle monsters taking 4x the amount. Since Osiris's basics cleave, make use of that to more effectively clear camps and lanes as well as make boxing easier.
At Lvl 20, we will upgrade this to Manikin Mace to take those stats and effect even more potent.

Eye of the Jungle
An alternative jungle starter that works well with Osiris. While in the jungle, you deal additional damage to jungle monsters, once the Large Jungle Monster is killed, a vision ward is placed where the monster died for a short duration.
At Lvl 20, we will upgrade this to Protector Of The Jungle for additional percentage power and protections, perfect for Osiris' front-line playstyle.

Berserker's Shield
A perfect item for the in-your-face playstyle Osiris utilizes. The protection, damage, and attack speed are nice on their own but once you hit a certain health threshold, you gain even more power and attack speed for a short duration. Don't worry about any cooldown timer, if you get healed above the threshold the effect will reset and be ready to use once below it again.

Talisman of Energy
When an enemy dies, you and any ally near you gain stacks of movement and attack speed. Since Osiris lacks movement options, this item makes up for being unable to get around without using his Spirit Flail, Ultimate, or Blink Rune.

Frostbound Hammer
A classic item used by warriors who utilize their auto-attacks. Hitting an enemy with your basic while having this item will slow both their movement and attack speed. Great for not just making it harder for them to get away but also making it difficult to fight back.

Stone Cutting Sword
Another item that many frontline basic attack gods use. Any enemy god you hit with a basic attack will steal a chunk of physical protection and apply it to yourself that can stack up to three times. Even if your target isn't tanky or building much physical protection, being able to steal that defense away makes it easier for you to kill them.
Note: only avalbile to physical melee gods.

The Crusher
A nice item to have for ability-based junglers. Every time a damaging ability hits a target, they take additional damage plus a percentage of your physical power. Since Osiris can spam Sickle Strike as well when it's combined with Spirit Flail to increase his damage output when boxing a target.

Qin's Sais
For when the enemies are tanky. Every basic attack against an enemy god will deal additional damage based on a percentage of the target's health. Additionally, the damage dealt if the target's health is above 2000hp and scales up proportionally the more health they have.

Void Shield
A favorite item for many bruisers. Get close to an enemy and reduce their physical protections as long as they stay within the debuff radius.

Toxic Blade
An option for auto-attackers to deal with annoying healers. With this item, your basic attacks will now apply a debuff to healing and last for a short duration but will refresh when you land another basic attack.

Your lifesteal option while in the jungle. Attack speed, penetration, and lifesteal are good enough for Osiris but there's more. Once you hit a health threshold, the lifesteal percentage of your basics increases for a short duration before going on cooldown.

The Executioner
An item against squishy enemies. Every basic attack reduces the physical protection by a percentage that stacks up to 3 times. This item is good against targets who don't build into protections or health items.

Runic Shield
Sort of like Void Shield but for magical targets. Stand close to an enemy god and this will reduce their magical power, making it easier to deal with magical gods who hit a little too hard for your liking.

Mantle of Discord
A staple last item from tanks. Providing a lot of protections and cooldown reduction are good on their own but what makes this better is its effect. When below a threshold of health, you become CC immune and send out a shockwave that stuns all enemy gods that get too close to you making you either escape or fight back if possible.

Oni Hunter's Garb
An alternative to Shogun's Kusari. You gain stacks of damage mitigation the more enemies that get close to you. This item is good if you're having a hard time during team fights or getting ganked early.

Shogun's Kusari
Outside of the stats, this item provides to you, its aura effect of giving all players increased attack speed as long as they near you. You can build this if you have other AA-based gods on your team.

The Sledge
A very nice item for any bruiser to have in their arsenal. You gain stacks of protections of physical and magical protections based on how many enemy gods are near you. Similar to Oni Hunter's Garb but with protections, this item makes it easier for you to jump into the middle of a fight without taking too much damage.

Mystical Mail
A nice defensive item for when you or your enemy likes to get too close. Once bought, this item provides an aura that puts out magical damage over time every second. Also, a very good item against stealthed enemies so makes use of the damage over time to either make them visible or pop their stealth.

Serrated Edge
An auto-attacker favorite katana. After casting an ability, excluding the ultimate, you gain a stack that provides power and lifesteal.
Note: You lose a stack once an ability is off cooldown so keep spamming those abilities if necessary.
Since Osiris will be using his abilities to control and set up for when he gets close to box the enemy, that additional power and lifesteal will make it a lot easier.

A nice final item for that extra punch for your abilities. When you land a damaging ability on a target, you deal additional damage based on a percentage of the target's health. The additional damage scales the more health an enemy has.

Tips, Tricks, & Combos

  • Invasion of the Living Dead
If you're going for an early invade, make sure that you can invade without risking your life in the process. Some matchups are good to invade on like, for example, Ra and Bastet as they don't have much early game power especially at level 1. If you're going to invade, put a point in Sickle Strike for the slow. If not, put a point in Spirit Flail as that is your clear and poking ability.
  • Wrap Them Up
When starting a fight, make sure you get some opponents in the range of Judgement Tether and kept there to not only reduce any damage they do to you but also for the stun if they can't or won't get away.
  • Dropping Weights
Use your abilities as much as possible in the jungle camps or the lane, as when you start to fight your lane opponent you don't take as much damage as you should be. Plus, your passive will help with boxing to reduce damage.

Your main harassment combo. Hit your target with Sickel Strike for the slow and then following up with Spirit Flail. This will not only help out when boxing but also when chasing the target as they become slower and you get faster.
Judgement Tether is a great control and damage mitigation tool. Activating that and following it up with Spirit Flail will keep you close to them while Tether ticks down to the stun.
Ultimate Combo
🠞 🠞 🠞
Start with Sickle Strike and Spirit Flail to get close to an enemy. Once close enough activate judgment tether and keep harassing the enemy until the stun goes off. Once that happens, use Lord of the Afterlife to deal even more damage and reduce any healing to 0. Repeat your other abilities until the target dies.

Stages of the Game

Early Game

Osiris has a good Early Game with Spirit Flail providing greater poking power and forces the lane opponent backed into a corner. Plus, if they try to aggro you, Judgement Tether can reduce the damage and stun them if they stay too long, and Sickle Strike helps with keeping them close to you. All in all, Osiris could get First Blood in under the 3-minute mark if the pieces are in place and can snowball like a mad man if possible.

Middle Game

Early and Mid-Game is where you want to not only push the enemy back but build yourself up with the gold and experience from the lane. You want to farm until you take the enemy tower or get some more items online. Once you down an enemy tower, you want to start making your rounds fighting with the rest of the team. If jungling, then just keep doing what you're doing.

Late Game

You are now the meatshield, jump into the middle of the enemy team, attacking the weakest link of the team, use your crowd control plus your damage mitigation to keep yourself alive, and direct all agro towards yourself while the rest of your team collapse onto the enemies.

In conclusion, Osiris is a wonky AA-based bruiser with abilities that make it easier to kill your opponent from the utility than the damage itself. Mainly used as a counter to other physical ADC's or magical healers but can hold his own against other gods. Hopefully, this guide is very helpful and allows you to use the powers given by the God of the Afterlife.

I hear that Bumbas Hammer is pretty broken on Osiris jungle. With a hybrid type build. Any thoughts?
Big Damage (34) | February 18, 2021 11:19pm
Stuke maybe consider adding more item depth to your builds. Your write up is fine, great even (although some parts are a little outdated) but with the new item choices in Solo there are far more builds than just Manikins > Tabi > Berserker's. You could go bluestone, warrior's, warding, or even Eye Of The Jungle for its late game upgrade Protector Of The Jungle.

I find useful to use spear sometime against gods like CuChu or Amaterasu, but nice build

Winged Blade should be considered for enemies who have many Slowing abilities.

The next God i wanna try out.
So until now, i thought the Shields (Glad or Berserk) are more Bridgeitems and you sell them in the Lategame cause they are "just" T2 Items basically.
Can't be said overall for all Gods or am i missing something else here?
Kriega1 (126) | September 2, 2019 6:20am
Most gods that use Beserker’s or glad Shield you sell late for another item. Exception being King Arthur where you don’t HAVE to sell it. Also it’s not recommend to build both shields, you go on or the other. Osiris can use either shoes but gladiators Shield is better for him. Berserkers is only really built on Erlang and Bellona.
Zerfall (4) | June 1, 2019 12:10pm
i love building both Gladiator's Shield and Berserker's Shield on him.
Kriega1 (126) | June 1, 2019 1:12pm
That’s something you would only really do if you were ahead
Meris Banks | April 15, 2019 7:56am
It's not worth putting points in your ultimate after the first one over maxing out your 2 and your 1. The reason for this is levelling the ultimate only increases the damage by 100 whereas levelling your 1 and 2 gives 50-5 damage and they're on a much much lower cooldown so it will provide more damage overall than levelling your ultimate. Though it's up to you whether to max 3 or the ult after that. Other than that, great guide :) would love to see you add more details to it about items and matchups in future :D

Great Guide. Great examples. I really do enjoy reading the guides you produce, they help a lot.

I think that with the new god, Erlang Shen, Osiris is quite....useless

I didn't really like any warriors until found this guide. Now he's my favorite! Thanks!
