Build Summary

starting out

Notes benevolence is a no brainer for supports currently as the gold and experience it generates for your ADC is incredible the iron mail will lead into sovereignty which severely hampers early game damage from the enemy and the hand of gods is needed to help clear the support buff at the same time as your ADC finishes red buff so you can meet them at purple

average end game

Notes this is the best defensive build I have found on Sylvanus as the stones give equal protections (except for void but let's get real it's the mages that hurt the most so it's good to have) and mantle of discord can help you avoid getting insta gibed by getting CCD at the start of a team fight and compassion is great to take some hits for the team even if it isn't as much as just body blocking whoever is dishing it out and for the relics meditation clock is very valuable for team fights and thorns is going to be you're top DPS

Sylvanus's Skill Order Notes maxing out verdant growth first is imperative to being able to help your team as it can lock a squishy in place and remove there protections and don't ever be afraid to use it just for the mp5 as Sylvanus tears through his mana in the early and mid-game

wisps get maxed second as the burn damage is more than most realize and the healing is incredible sustain

nature's grasp is third because the only thing gained by leveling it up is reduced cost and shorter cool down but there's a reason that's the only change because this can make getting your team a kill very easy and can even save your team if the enemy is too far for you to body block just grab them and stun them giving your teammate time to retreat

playstyle

as Sylvanus you are going to want to stay near your team but still be in front of them you have ranged auto attacks use them if you don't need to get near the enemy don't but also don't hang behind you're teammate there going to be counting on you to soak hits for them heal when you're team has taken damage not just yourself and use your ultimate to break up enemy formations if they're grouped up and doing high single target damage make yourself the target and knock them all up if some ones running away use your root and pull to let your team secure the kill

the wombo combo

if you are near one of your teams DPS characters or you're under tower use natures grasp and immediately follow it up with verdant growth wait for the root to run out and follow it up with wrath of terra and wisps this combo can be resource-intensive from the mana cost and high cooldowns but it almost guarantees a kill if you DPS lands there hits on a mostly still target

general tips

when you're adc is hitting the melee minions use your auto attacks to lower the health of the archers without killing them

if you have a melee god hitting you and you cant get away use your pull point-blank to stun them giving you time to retreat

don't be afraid to use your root for mana if you aren't in a fight you should be setting up a network of plants so you can sustain yourself mana wise which by extension will allow you to sustain health-wise with your wisps

don't be afraid to get close just because you have ranged basics dosent mean you are a hunter get up in there and body block the enemy when you need to but if your team is able to secure a kill without getting close don't get close

Some of this build I like some of it I dont really like. I get the idea, but it just isnt going to be great. I think in lower level games, or games you snowball obviously this would be fine. But here are the points I would change - or as a new player reading this, this is what I would change from this.

Starting Sovereignty is totally fine, but normally id only do this into a heavy Physical damage team. Gauntlet of Thebes just has so much value. Yes you are stacking, but it doesnt take long, and if you play smart the lack of prots till its stacked doesnt really matter.

Stone of Binding this is a fun item, totally cool with this.

Stone of Fal is an interesting item, its cool! Its just not 'good' compared to any of the other items that should be in this slot for example Lotus Crown which works with Wisps to give extra protections to you and your team, or since you're an immobile guardian getting a Winged Blade has extreme value.

Void Stone I truly think this item is a bait for every support player. Yeah if you are snowballing or whatever its fine, or if you are just better than the enemy you can get away with it, I just dont think this item should be bought in support right now with how many great other items are in the game, like imagine instead of this we got a Pridwen right here. Huge value

Mantle of Discord OP item - should be bought in like every build ever, and its usually last cause expensive, I like it.

For your actives:

You start with Meditation Cloak I know it got buffed and I know its better than it was, its still a bait item. It does exactly what it did before. It lets you coast through the early game, and helps in the mid game but unless you snowball this item turns useless by 20mins. Its still affected by Anti-Heal items and since you're playing Sylv every player with a brain is going to get an Anti-Heal item just for your Wisps sustain.

Your other active Shield of Thorns this item is what we would call a 'dead pick' after nerfing it, not even solo laners are touching it. It has no real value in the game right now compared to all the other relics.

The relics id recommend would be - Sundering Spear Belt of Frenzy Blink Rune you cant go wrong with these options. Blink Rune is a bit sketchy with Compassion since anything can stop you from blinking in since your teammates are probs taking dmg from something. I love Sundering Spear with the changes it got. The item is OP. Belt of Frenzy is just nice for objectives and team fights, but you can def get something else here. Its a situational relic slot.

For your start - I think we are done getting Chalice of Healing unless you're like Ares who doesnt need Hand of the Gods to clear his purple.

Benevolence - {T1 of Sov/Thebes} - 1 Hand of the Gods - 4 Healing Potion

This is the best start as of right now IMO.
