Introduction

Tyr is a very strong, very versatile warrior, capable of 1v1's and leading a teamfight very easily if played correctly. Built damage through penetration and with a lot of defense, he becomes nearly unstoppable.

I'll try to keep typing to a minimum, feel free to comment, this build has worked effectively for me for a long long time.

Items

As a bruiser, you should embrace this title in every role you play. Tyr is a beefy jungler and a hell of a matchup in solo lane, who is versatile enough to support and mid, if you grow comfortable enough.

STARTING ITEMS:
Against Physical:
-2 Health pots (sustain)
-1 Mana pot (sustain
-Rank 2 HoG (waveclear/creepclear)
-Rank 1 Mystical Mark (defense)
Tyr has very natural waveclear with his 1-2 or 1-HoG combo, as he groups the wave in a small area. This provides easy farm and effective push, as you can then poke the enemy with your creeps behind you hitting them. One mana pot should last you the time between the end of your blue and when the next camp spawns.

Against Magical:
-2 Health pots (sus)
-1 Mana pot (sus)
-Rank 1 HoG (WC [can buy rank 2 if laning v Ra, Hel, Aphrodite, etc. with Pestilence])
-Rank 1 Shield (Def/power [Can be swapped for Rank 1 Pestilence and Rank 2 HoG if against a healer)

The same thing goes here as for Physical, but the Shield provides more damage. The Pestilence buy is great against healers due to the passive.

FROM THEN ON:
-Finish your starter item (Mystical Mark, Pestilence, Shield)
-Buy pots to keep sustain (Mana over health, as 2 heals)
-Buy Rank 3 REGULAR Blink at first opportunity
-Build progression then goes:
-Warrior Tabi
-Focused Voidblade
-Titan's Bane
-Other starter item (e.g., if laning against Vamana, start mystical Mark, buy Shield 4th item)
-Qin's Sais

The Voidblade and Titan's Bane, when paired with your Warrior's Tabi, gives you 33% base protection reduction in addition to 40 pen. This means you can hit for about 700 in a 1-2 combo at level 10-12, if your build is complete with your pen. While this doesn't sound like a lot, Tyr's 1-2 is incredible at zoning enemies, putting them into your tower range, and forcing them into/out of a teamfight. That 700 damage means a lot now.
The other starter item simply balances your tankiness and makes you harder to kill. The Qin's are a great complement to Tyr. His swing chain is already pretty fast and it speeds it up, doing 1/.5/1.5 damage PLUS the passive it provides. Since you never initiate with Tyr without your 1-2, the 700 damage now looks even better, as the Sais' passive kicks in and does and extra 900 when your swing chain is done (Level 20).

Jungling

Everything stays pretty much the same in the jungle, except you start your build however you like to build your junglers. The only major difference is now you max your 1 as opposed to your 2. Tyr ganks can be devastating, so don't be afraid to get pushed a little and have your Tyr come from the jungle to knock them into the tower.

Conclusion

In its basest sense, Tyr is easy. The difficult part is finding ways to consistently get kills without blink plays or ulting in. That's when penetration and being a bruiser matters. Again, this is a guide only, feel free to rip on me if you want, I'll read all the comments. Enjoy.

Greenevers, I want you to play 3 games with my build. The skill order is very very possible. I would like you to at least try it, a fair shot, and see how it works. If you don't like MM, fine, just don't change the whole damn thing, and see how it works for you. It is just a guide, after all.

I disagree with you further. Cooldown is a great way to go with Tyr. And Qin's Sais just doesn't go with Tyr... That gives him a bunch of attack speed, which you don't really need. If you have the right build, you can take so much damage from the enemy god from just your Fearless and Power Cleave. Mystical mark isn't that great for jungling, it becomes really expensive, especially if not laning. So a big nono, you'll fall behind. You don't include Bumba's Mask and any variations on jungling items.

The skill order is impossible. The priority is weird. You want to prioritize Lawbringer over everything, since the power scales and CD scales down. Then have your Fearless prioritized next. It can be your escape, your initiator in combos, and takes a chunk of health away. Then Power Cleave or Change Stance, I go with Power Cleave.

You need to explain how to use his skills, the combos, gameplay, and more. Guide seems lacking, downvote.

Hey all, sorry for the absurdly late replies.

Epic and Peter, I'm glad you like it. The pen really helps a lot, Epic, as you now know!

Raven, I have to disagree with you. CDR Tyr became outdated after a few short weeks. While it can be done, and can be effective, it's much easier to build penetration in any case other than solo lane. I understand it when in solo lane, when your damage needs to come strong and steady, but warrior tabi should nearly never be switched and Jotunn's return doesn't fit anywhere. What would you replace with it?

I have used this guide in two matches, the first I started out horrible, but when I got Titan's Bane I melted through the enemies defense, I started out 0-2, then I got a triple kill and 2 more kills later on before they surrendered, leaving me at 5-2. The second match I played in I had hard time because the enemy duo lane came over to my solo lane, so I had to switch over to the enemy solo lane, but that's the only reason I did bad. This is a great guide, I hope that you fix things accordingly in future updates to get the best effectiveness. This guide is great as it is. The only problem I found is that I couldn't find the Mystical Mail shown above, so I was wondering if you could change the item portraits. I thank you for this awesome guide.

Build is meh. You want CDR, to Change Stance more often. More change stance = more CD PLUS your CDR = you're never not using abilities. Qin's Sais is meh...you're not really an auto attack champion. You *can* use it but I definitely don't find it ideal.

I'm not a 100% sure but I think that skill order is impossible. I don't think the skills can be leveled up in that order. I might be wrong, but I've never seen someone try to do it that way either. I can understand maxing lawbringer last - if you don't want the damage, it's not worth it. But I wouldn't leave change stances to last.

Basically, Power Cleave is for sustain. That's it. You don't max it for damage or for it's CDR. Damage would be Fearless (double hit in assault stance), CDR you'd just max Change Stance for the reset. Maxing power cleave past sustain is meh.

Fearless is if you're ahead and want kills. It's very very easy to get those kills with fearless - you juggle people like no one's business. If you're going for ganks, which as a Tyr jungle you are, you're probably going to want this.

Once teamfights break out, you'll want to max Change Stance. The CDR on Change Stance will affect every other skill in turn, making one skill upgrade reduce the CD on 5 skills (Fearless 1/2, Power Cleave 1/2, Change Stance). This is pivotal for teamfights - you need as much disruption as physically possible. Change stance is not a late game ability, it's a teamfight ability, and you will not start teamfighting at level 13, it'll be much earlier.

And as a Tyr guide, you're going to want to review:
His combo (you mention a 1-2 combo but you need to elaborate on it, and many others)
Active Choices/Alternatives
Item Alternatives
Other Skill Builds (Tyr is one of a few gods that can max *any* skill first. Although some are better than others)
Ganking - You explain jungling, not ganking.
Teamfights
Counterjungling
