Mulan Build

Starter

Notes A big problem with Mulan is not her damage or clear, it's actually her survivability early on. Hence why we purchase Warrior's Axe. Chalice/pots for sustain. Blink for aggression, beads for safety.

Notes Warrior Tabi will increase your power in lane and give mobility to chase or evade. This is the best option for Mulan because you want to abuse her early pressure while maintaining safety with you Warrior's Axe. Pots for sustain or wards for vision/safety.

Notes Glad shield will give you more damage and prots keeping you a threat and making you tankier. The Sledge will do the same thing making you a big problem as long as you're not overstepping or overcommitting.

Notes If you're against a magical solo buy Runic Shield first then Glad shield after. This is keeping you tanky but giving you damage as well.

Notes Pridwin will give you a shield once your ult is finished casting. This is good since your ult makes you very vulnerable. It also gives you all prots and CDR.
Oni Hunter's Garb is your magical defense but it's passive gives you 15% damage mitigation once fully stacked, which will be pretty easy once you blink ult the whole enemy team. The stats are nice as well with some health and CCR.

Notes We're gonna switch it up a bit, so no Sledge for this one. Pridwin for the shield and Mantle of Discord for the passive giving you a little more survivability, CDR and all prots.

Notes These items apply to both versions of the build.
Hero's Axe is good if your jungler is consistently diving with you, giving them a shield when they get hit by a hard cc.
Hide of the Urchin giving you all prots, health and mana.
Hide of the Nemean for high AA team comps.
Pestilence if they have a lot of healing.

Notes I suggest this build option if you're against a physical solo, but you can sell your blessing if you so choose. I didn't because my jungler was by my side every time I would dive. Void Shield is really good on her too because you wanna get up close and personal with your opponents.

Notes If you're against a magical solo, I suggest this one if they're healing a lot. Pestilence is really good for antiheal and for magical prots. Void shield is great regardless of the situation. You could even get Oni Hunter's Garb over pestilence if you don't need the antiheal.

Other Items to Consider

Notes Hide of the Urchin is great for health and mana and the 51 all prots it gives you.
Hide of the Nemean is only good against AA carries.
Spirit Robe gives you CDR, CCR, 40 all prots and 15% mitigation in the passive when hit by a hard cc ability making it a great item.
Breastplate of Valor is really good for CDR and physical prots.
Genji's Guard is great for CDR and magical prots with a really good passive decreasing your cooldowns.
Caduceus Shield and Sould Eater go hand in hand so if you want one I suggest also buying the other. Cad increases healing from you and your team. Soul Eater allows you to heal from your abilities, this is amplified by Cad Shield.

Mulan's Skill Order Notes I like to max my 2 for the susatin, but you can max your 1 if you prefer that. Point save at level 8 then at level 9 max your 2(or 1)and put a point into your ult.

Great build so far. Played a ditto with it and it wasn't even close, and the jungler couldn't ever finish me off. Team fights were strong too, even though my team was down the jungler.

That’s great man. I’m glad it’s working out for you. If there’s any questions you have for me or something let me know. And as Big Damage let you know, there are other items to try and I put some of those in the “Other Items to Consider” section, but he should know that by now! Silly guy. Anyway, he’s right, most of the time you don’t want the same build unless it’s ALWAYS working. Go ahead and try swapping a few things out for items that you definitely need. But thank you so much for commenting.

Because Mulan has really high base damage and poor scaling, there are definitely better item options than some that are here.

You want items that give damage bonuses for hitting abilities, such as; and (listed). Maybe some penetration for that physical base damage to hit harder like . falls into both of these categories and is a nice item if you need more damage, but isn't necessary.

Other than those hybrid items Mulan needs to be full tank. Items like , , , , etc. should fill the build. There isn't any point building power on a god that doesn't scale it very well.

Is the build overall bad? No of course not, otherwise you wouldn't have done well in your game but maybe try swapping some items around and see how it works out for you.
