Notes Get Transcendence online, then build in order. I like to build Jotunn's before The Crusher for the CDR, as Medusa's cooldowns are annoying.

Item #5 (Damage)

Notes Pick one of these if you're doing well. Brawler's against healers, Bloodforge otherwise for heavy damage. Medusa's 3 reduces enemy healing by 50%, so that in conjunction with Brawler's can completely ruin gods like Anubis, Hel, Sylv, Aphro, etc.

Item #5 (Defense)

Notes If you happen to be getting clapped instead of doing the clapping, pick one of these to help turn the tide. Ancile and Discord offer great defense, along with 10% CDR to cap your CDR. I'd only take Void Shield if both your team + your enemy's team have 2 physical damage dealers.

Summary

This is an Ability-Based Build for casual Jousting. It usually results in complete and total domination of the damage meters. In my opinion, Medusa is a great ADC selection for Joust, and her simplicity makes her a friendly choice for console players as well. With this setup, you'll want to focus on always hitting your abilities rather than relying on rapid auto-attacks and critical hits.

The suggested build is simple, and has few situational variants - so you won't have too much to remember. Upon completing your core items, Medusa will be an absolute force to be reckoned with.

PROS
ELITE mid/late game
Huge ability/ult damage
Great against healers
Demon King soloable @ 3 items

CONS
Little bit squishy
Slightly weak early game

Abilities

#1 - Enhanced auto-attacks. Medusa gets 3-4 auto attacks with increased attack speed and damage, as well as a bleed that deals some damage over time. This is great for dealing burst damage, or hitting a low-hp target who might fall to bleed damage while escaping. Save it for enemy gods or jungle camps.

#2 - Medusa's heavy hitter / lane clear. This ability is often used wrong by players new to Medusa. A single projectile shoots in a line, and then splashes in a cone behind the enemy hit. This ability should be leveled up first, as it is great for lane clear, and super annoying for opponents.

#3 - Medusa's escape, chase, and healer counter. This ability roots the enemy god hit for a split second, so it can be really annoying for opponents and might catch them off guard. Also reduces enemy healing by 50% for 3 seconds - VERY good against healing gods like Anubis, Hel, Sylvannus, Aphro, etc. Not a top priority for leveling, unless playing against a heavy healing team.

ULT - Medusa's One-Shot. It requires that your opponents are FACING YOU when you cast it. It'll eliminate their HP, and stun them long enough for you to use your other abilities on them to finish them off. The best time to use this ult is when you are ganking the enemy team @ the damage buff, or when you are being chased by 2 or more gods; you can catch them off guard by turning around and ulting, as they will be too caught up in the chase to consider turning around. Level this up ASAP.

Items

Item reasoning is summarized in the tool-tips of the purchase orders, but I will elaborate on the core items here as well.

Transcendence - A common stack item for Hunters. Once fully online, it'll provide you with a bomb of Mana, and a ton of power. Build stacks ASAP by getting the killing blow on minions (using your 2), or kill some enemy gods.

Warrior Tabi - Most Hunters build Ninja Tabi for its attack speed and extra stats - but not us. We want all the physical power we can get for this build. Ability Damage > Attack Speed. Get Warrior Tabi instead.

Jotunn's Wrath - Fairly cheap, good power, excellent 20% CDR, +10 pen, and a little bit of Mana that goes towards your total power thanks to Transcendence's passive. Must build.

The Crusher - Another solid damage item. Provides you with good power, +30% attack speed, +15 pen, and bonus ability damage. That's why you always get The Crusher.

See the tool-tips above for information regarding Item #5. This is your "situational" slot.

Heartseeker - An expensive, but crucial item to this build. Offers a ton of power, Mana, and a bit of pen. It deals additional damage with your abilities based on your opponent's health. Most effective late game due to opponents having higher health pools, and due to the fact that it is too expensive to build earlier game. Medusa is scary with Heartseeker.
