Hello! My IGN is Featherlite, and I love Smite. I main Anubis - 10, Ra - 5, and recently started playing Bakasura - 3 and I love him. I never knew SmiteFire even existed until one of my friends linked me a Fenrir build. I don't play him much, but he wanted me to look at it and the site. I love the idea of players helping players by giving them helpful tips or builds. I thought I should make an Anubis Guide to help other Anubis players, cause every now and then when I face an Anubis Middle when I'm Anubis Middle, I just kill them. When I told one of my friends I made an Anubis Guide with my build, he said, "We don't need any more of you. 1 OP Anubis is enough,". I laughed so hard for a good couple of minutes. So, yeah! Welcome to my Anubis Guide! There will be edits as often as I can, so keep checking this guide!
In the build, I might switch Gem of Isolation to Divine Ruin if I'm facing a healer, or maybe Obsidian Shard if I'm facing a tank, etc. etc.
When you first get in the game, buy Magic Boots (Level 2 Cooldown Boots) and a Potion of Magical Might. Sometimes I buy a ward or 2, but your preference on that.
I have some spots where you can pick your item out of a couple different items. If you have Etheral Staff in your build, don't get Breastplate of Valor. If you have Breastplate of Valor, don't get Etheral Staff.
With Anubis, Actives aren't too strict, but I like to get Aegis because Anubis is squishy. I can't exactly tell you which Aegis to get. It depends on the enemy team. If they have stuns, get Greater Aegis. If you think you can deal with the stuns, get Aegis Pendant. I say this because Aegis Pendant helps you escape because you can move while using it. Greater Aegis can be used while under the effects of CC. It gives you a fighting chance.
Pros
This build can save your life when low on health. Put down your 3 infront of a minion wave, attack your enemies like crazy, or retreat into the jungle and take out a camp to gain health.
Shorter Cooldowns AKA Shorter Vulnerability time.
Lots of Damage
Pretty Good Early Game (Try to get at least 1-2 kills while your Potion of Magical Might is up. It will help later, putting you ahead in gold and a little bit in level.)
Late Game Is Amazing, especially if fed from Early Game.
Cons
Squishy if you use the build I usually use.
If you fall behind in kills, (say your 2-5 mid game), it is a little difficult to come back. You still can come back, just a little difficult. I don't know if this is my build, how I play him, or Anubis in general, so I'm putting this here just in case.
1. Hit your 2. You need to lead the enemy a little bit into your 2. Not too much ahead of them, just a bit.
2. When everything is on cooldown, you are vulnerable. Your basics are kind of useless unless Poly is activated. When everything is on cooldown, retreat and wait. Don't fight with your basics. The only time I fight with basics is after a successful combo of abilities on a god and he has a sliver of health left. I'll hit him with 1 or 2 basics to kill him then run off.
3. If you are running away with low health from enemies, sometimes you might want to turn around and attack them as much as possible. It sounds stupid, but it is a lifesaver. Lifesteal them as much as you can. Only do this if you think you can't get out running. The rest is up to your judgement.
4. Learn how to use your abilities accurately very quickly. You need to learn how to place your 3 after using 2 almost instantly.
5. When you are using your 1, be careful. You are an easy target because your standing still.
From what I have seen, these are your counters:
Tyr
Stuns cannot last on him for more than a second. You don't have enough time to kill him. Then, if your using your 1, he will Fearless you right after.
Chaac
If he builds right, he will be tanky and do damage. That's not the main reason he is a counter. He has a very good heal that heals over time. If he is using this, don't attack him.
Anyone that has a dash and knows how to counter you, they will be difficult. People with a dash that I know off the top of my head are Agni, Cupid, Hades, Sobek, and Herc. (Hercules isn't going to be to hard to hit cause the dash doesn't have too much range).
1. Your 2 and 3 are a great way to poke someone. If you miss your 2, your 3 is a decent poke.
2. Your 3 alone is good for clearing minion waves.
3. Your 1 is good for clearing minions. Just go to the side of the wave when they are fighting your minions, make sure they are all in it, and use it. I don't recommend using this often because it is very risky. It isn't as risky if you have wards around your lane.
4. Your main combo, your 2, 3, and 1 (In that order). Just make sure your close to them, as your 1 doesn't have too much range. If you hit them all, it will melt them usually (If they aren't a tank, obviously).
5. Your 2, 3, and 4 (In that order). It kills. Sometimes it won't kill them and they will get out of mummify, so get good at aiming your ultimate.

I don't know how spear works with DoT does it stack every tick? (reason I mostly take obsidian.
You get both stacks each from ticks or separate abilities. That's why it helps DoT abilities like tornadoes

Not only that, if you are in high ranked games or even level 30, most any midlane god would outpush you horribly. Even Loki could do it. If you were going support Anubis, maxing

I normally take mumify as 2nd skill (sorry plague of locust) because plague is sometimes very risky and then you can trap people in you're 3 adding a nasty ultimate sometimes.
