intro

hi my name is All4Games and im here to show of my main man He Bo. this is my first guide here and im not really good with the guide maker yet so if i F*** up im sorry.

im dutch and i have dyslexia. i don't give 2 flying f**** about spelling or grammer corrections though i will try to make as little typo's as possible.

updates.

21-08-13
fixed some typo's and worked on some ruff eghe's of the guide.

Pros / Cons

pros (aka YAYZ)
+high damage (and now your dead)
+high poke (look your flying!)
+decent escape (oh crab i done f*** up! RUN)
+able to partially cut path off (here il save you!... i tried.) or possibly. where do you think your going?)
+honer combat. (its a good thing)

cons (aka aw's)
-squishy (oh god it hurts my soul)
-has to get close to enemies (i... got...TO FIGHT!)
-not as much cc as other mages (stop running i just want to give you a refressing drink!)

Skills

passive

Steady Flow

everytime hebo uses an abilitie he will get a 10% magical power buff

max 3 stacks

duriation 5 seconds. can be refreshed

1 Water Cannon
low cooldown, high burst damage.
small cone .

level this first because it does the most damage and is good for farming .

2 Flood Waters
long line speed buff and slow.

level this last because he bo needs to do as much damage as possible.

late game that speed buff becomes pretty heavy and you can close a full lane/jungle path with it. the slow gets pretty strong so make use of it.

try to fight on your river it will help you juking and will give you a passive stack.
do not underestemate this river, it has saved my life multiple times from situations i should not have escaped as well as securing me a few kill that would have gotten away

3 Waterspout

small AOE with high burst and knock up.
great for poking and will get those pesky healing potions out of the way.

this abilitie does root you for the animation so keep that in mind.

enemies will fall in the direction they were running to when knock up. use this to your adventage

4 Crushing Wave

stupid high damage in the form of a giant wave dashing at your enemy at full speed.

when i use this abilitie it feels very satisving... i call it whaling on the enemy and i enjoy doing it a lot.

do not be afraid to initiate with this abilitie. it can knock a half health bar down even with out passive stacks.

when in a 1v1 lay down your river then use your 1 then your 3 then your 4 and then your 1 again.

when coming to gank the order is 2 1 3 4.

if your lane is being ganked by an allie start with the 2 than ult when you can.

same goes when your being ganked by an enemy. attack enemy by ulting them because the ganker is likly squisshy and will die ez.

Items

Shoes of the Magi will give a good starting damage. why not Shoes of Focus? because with He Bo you need to do as much damage in 1 combo to kill anything at early levels.

Cronos Pendant. BUT ALL4GAMES you just said not to get Shoes of Focus. why not Shoes of Focus? is my live a lieee?

yes its a lie and yes i did say not to get focus BUT Cronsos Pendant gives better cdr as well as mp5 so you can substain a bit better in lane. you do need cdr on He Bo but i think pendant and magi is better on hebo than focus. if you were to build both you would not do enough damage even if you shuffe your entire mana bar down the enemies troat.

this works for me, it doesn't take hebo's damage away as much as focus would but its mostly preference.

Focused Void Stone is pretty self explanetory.

moving on.

Rod of Tahuti is the cataclisme item for mages.
it gives you just sutch a high amout power that the real question is why would you NOT buy it.

Soul Reaver is a new item that will take a ***ping 15% health if any one gets hit by one of your abilities. keep in mind that this can only happen once every minute but the item it self already gives you a 100 magical power.

Summary

He Bo is a high burst mage but very squisshy with a moderate amount of cc and good poke.

in YAYZ and aw's i named "honor combat" as a YAY, what i ment with that is that he is not very cheap in the form of that to kill you he has to get close to you so you get a chance to fight back. unlike other mages who can just trow fish or meteors or lazers etc. from 1 tower to another hebo has to fight and win.

that is why he has a high burst and a low cool down. he can finish enemies of wiht a good snipe on his 3 but no matter how good you are with him you will miss some of them because of the animation.

when you start to hebo you will most likly underestimate his ult. THAT GIANT WAVE CAN TAKE A SQUISSHIES HEALT BAR BREAK IT IN 2 AND GIVE 1 HALF BACK WITHOUT HIS PASSIVE STACKS. now you know that so dont be afraid to initiate with it but try to save it for possioning and damage.

do not be afraid to use your ult defensive if there are 3 enemies in your lane.
if there are only 2 and your and full health try to eat them because you defenetly can but you may not always win so just try to take 1 with you.

it is your job as He Bo to teach the enemies respect towards you and learn them that when they gank you that you do not enjoy it unanounced.
which brings us to the next chapter.

lore.

He-Bo god of the yellow river.

As God of the Yellow River, He-Bo tamed the massive and turbulent waters with humility and sacrifice. Now, the forces of the great river are at his command!

Throughout history, no river has been the source of more nourishment or more destruction than Chinas Yellow River. Its basin valley was the cradle that birthed Chinese civilization, feeding fields with water and millions of tons of collected sediments, which give the river its yellow hue. The river is also treacherous and prone to flooding, destroying shoreline settlements and drowning thousands.

Long ago, Feng Yi, a mortal man living along the riverside, watched in dismay as a storm stirred the waters and gorged the banks. It would not be long before the mighty river consumed his village. Both humble and wise, Feng Yi tied rocks to his belt before casting himself into the waters. This act of sacrifice did more than appease the angry river, it promoted Feng Yi to Godhood over it. Thus, he became He Bo.

Much time passed, and He Bo grew proud of his great river, so proud that he declared the Yellow River the biggest body of water anywhere. A passerby asked if He Bo had seen the North Sea, but He Bo dismissed the comment, for heavy rains were falling and the river was roaring and full. As time wore on, thought of the North Sea tickled his mind, so he made the journey. There, the Dragon King of the Northern Sea warmly met him. Viewing the endless expanse of water, He Bo was humbled and returned to his River wiser.

For He Bo, there are no greater virtues than wisdom and humility. With the force of the Yellow River at his command, He Bo will remind his enemies what it means to be humble.

the not so great ending.

well there you have my hebo guide. i hope you it will help you in the lane's and jungle of smite. i also hope you have gotten atleast a few laugh's form my sence of humor and if you didn't i will cry in my basment(i will do it!).

Would 100% consider Polynomicon a core item with his short CD's. It's got a ridiculous amount of lifesteal and magic power, and hte passive, when weaving in auto attacks, makes you burst people down like nothing.

Also would swap out Soul Reaver for Gem of Isolation. He doesn't need the 15% damage - already does enough, especially if you add in Poly. The utility will be better for catching targets, has a decent amount of MP, and has a good amount of health.

both of those items used to be in my build (though situatoins wouldn't let me build it that way all of the time

but when they changed poly to magical i stopped using it because it was more usefull to me to do damage to towers also i don't like to use it in combat because A i have already killed any squishy when i trow all my abilities at the enemy and stopping to try and hit a poly shot will cheat me out of my damage if i dont' hit it on the first shot while i also slowing me.

the magical lifesteal is something i don't care enough about because it won't be enough for actually healing you.

gem i changed for soul reaver because any extra burst helps you more than a bit of slow which you can already get of if you become skilled with river placements.

you can absolutly use those 2 items and don't use reaver as long as you keep the core build

magi, pendant, focused void stone and rod of tahuti somewhere.

builds are about prefrence and situations so if you prefere gem and poly i say go for it aslong as you keep the core build.
