Hades Build

Starting Items

Notes Starting off with Blink Rune will let you teleport over walls as either an initiation tool or as an escape if your leap is down. Use it often, as it may help you get out of a sticky situation, or create one for the enemy team.

With Assassin's Blessing, you'll gain some bonus damage to Jungle Minions, as well as some Health/Mana restoration to help keep you going for a bit longer in the Jungle before having to back.

Shoes are always a must for the Jungle role- they will get you where you need to be faster. Simple.

The Multi-Potions are to help you along if you find yourself taking too much damage in camps. Try to use them all before you back, unless you are critically low.

Wards always helpful in providing vision on enemies, including the enemy Jungler. Place your first one at Mid Harpies before the game starts, and save the other for a bit later to place above Oracles.

Core Build Items

Notes Traveller's Shoes will return you to Jungling faster after coming out of the Fountain, so these are a must in Early Game. Initial MP5 is also quite nice to have. I suggest selling those for Shoes of the Magi once your enemies start to build more protections, because Magic Pen is extremely helpful when playing burst mages like Hades.

Most would build Book of Thoth first to start building stacks early, but I suggest getting this second. The boots will a little power to scale for a bit, but with a little extra damage from a god in a lane, you'll start to clear camps a little faster as you rise in Level and in stacks. Ganking with this item will be key for you to build stacks quickly along with standard farming.

Soul Gem is helpful because it provides a little bit of sustain and utility, along with a large amount of Magical Power. The stacks that will be expended upon ability hit on a god will give you an edge if you have already taken damage and are looking to heal a bit more.

By Level 12...

Notes By now, you should be about halfway- if not almost- full on stacks for Book of Thoth, so these will be next.

Horrific Emblem will help get the drop on enemies you gank because of the slow. You'll have to Blink or Leap, Emblem, and continue your combo from there.

I recommend Spirit Robe for Hades because it provides him with enough protections and CC reduction to protect him enough to make a difference. The added cooldown reduction is a great benefit because he relies heavily on his abilities to gank and clear camps/waves.

By now, you should be able to sustain enough clear camps easily, but every other god is going to be hitting much harder by now, so you need to hit harder to and prevent your enemies from hitting anyone else. Take one Magic Potion (if you can afford it) and buy at least one Ward every time you back from now on.

Rounding It Off

Notes This is the last part of the game, so these are the items you want to buy to be sure that you deal a LOT of damage in the end game.

The new Obsidian Shard is very handy to have as a Magical Jungler. The additional Magical Power it provides, as well as the percentage Penetration, are both very handy in bursting down tough targets and make attacking more vulnerable ones easier.

I usually take Chronos' Pendant because of the massive cooldown reduction and MP5 on mages to help me get more damage out there faster. With Hades, this is no exception, especially as a Jungler. More CDR = More Damage = More Kills/Assists

The final piece of this puzzle is Rod of Tahuti because of its massive burst capability on enemies that are already weak. This will help you to finish the job on already weakened foes and clean up the map a bit.

You can purchase an Elixir of Power if you have the money for it and are looking to close out the game with your team.

Sentry Wards should be used whenever Fire Giant is active, so get these as often as you can when it is up.

Introduction- Hades in the Jungle?

Hello, everyone!

Welcome to my Hades Jungle Guide and Build!

Now, I know what you're probably thinking. "Potato, why would you want to put Hades in the Jungle? He's super weak in early clear and he couldn't possibly keep up with someone like Loki or Bakasura or Odin or any other Jungle-capable character." But I've given this a shot a number of times before, and it works pretty well. You know, when you're not getting targeted and your team is working together perfectly.

Hades is actually quite viable in the Jungle, however, and is capable of keeping up with others that are effective Junglers, too. Initially, he will need to lean on his teammates a little bit to help him along in the earliest parts of the game, but that little bit of help will go a long way in the long run.

Being a mage, Hades is going to have a small health pool, so he will be vulnerable to being targeted by the enemy Jungler and being stopped by enemy crowd control. Therefore, timing and positioning are everything- and they are even more important now that Hades is in the Jungle role. He jumps in too soon, he will be focused and killed; he jumps in too late, the fight will be over before he gets involved.

This is the first guide I have put together, so please feel free to leave a review and up-vote it so the rest of the community may see it and give it a try!

Enjoy!

Skills- What the Skills Are and How to Use Them

Passive: Blight

Description: Hades' normal staff attacks apply a debuff to the enemy, called Blight. This debuff stays on the target and can be refreshed. If an enemy is afflicted by Blight, each of Hades' other powers have an additional effect.

Uses: Each of Hades' abilities and basic attacks apply Blight to an enemy, which provides an additional benefit, listed in the descriptions below.

Ability 1: Death From Below

Description: Hades descends into the ground and erupts from below at his ground location, doing damage to all enemies in the area. If the enemy is Blighted, they are also slowed. Applies Blight.

Uses: This is a good initiation tool for fights, but it can also be used to jump onto an unsuspecting target in the middle of a fight. A good rule of thumb is to wait for someone with stronger initiation to start the fight (like Geb, Bacchus, Ares, or Cerberus) to distract the enemies and jump in to start the combo.

Ability 2: Shroud of Darkness

Description: Hades silences all enemies in a cone in front of him. If the enemy is Blighted, they are also feared. Applies Blight.

Uses: This ability is good for interrupting abilities that are being used, like Bellona's Bludgeon or anything that is not CC immune when channeling it without a stack of Blight. If an enemy is Blighted, the enemy will be Feared, and will be forced into running away whenever Shroud of Darkness hits. It's good for interrupting fights that are happening in front of you, whether the enemy is Blighted or not.

Ability 3: Devour Souls

Description: Hades devours the souls of his enemies, dealing damage in a radius around him. Blighted hit by this ability are Detonated, dealing damage to enemies and healing your allies around the Detonated targets. Enemy gods only take 50% of the damage from Detonating Blights.

Uses: This burst, AOE damage ability is good for making an impact in your area. This is going to be the bread-and-butter of Hades' kit, and probably the ability you will be using the most. When Blight is active on an enemy, you will heal off of the Blighted enemies that are hit by Devour Souls. In the Jungle, Blighted Jungle minions that are hit by Devour Souls will heal Hades for a small amount of health.

Ability 4: Pillar of Agony (Ultimate)

Description: Hades calls to all enemy souls nearby, pulling them closer to him over time, doing damage every .5s for 4s. If the enemy is Blighted, their protections are reduced. Hades also gains protections for the duration.

Uses: This ultimate is best used when the fight is just boiling over. This needs to be used in conjecture with other ultimates that use great amounts of crowd control (Cerberus' Stygian Torment; Ares' No Escape; Geb's Cataclysm; Cernunnos' The Wild Hunt; etc). If used by itself, you will become the focus of the enemy team and will be killed immediately

Combinations- Using the Abilities in Tandem

To the Underworld (Clearing Combo)

The most basic combo in Hades' kit. This is the most effective combination for clearing Jungle camps, allowing Hades to get the most out of his abilities.

Death From Below > Devour Souls (> Devour Souls, if needed again)

A leap into the camp, like Bakasura's Take Down or Odin's Dive Bomb combo, and then an AOE damage burst to clear the camp and restore some health to you.

From the Depths Combo (Ganking Combo)

A combo that uses all of your kit to make an attempt on an unsuspecting enemy's life, or can be used in a gank on duo lane to help the Carry and Support ensure an enemy dies. You can stop this combo at any time.

Blink > Shroud of Darkness > Pillar of Agony > Horrific Emblem > Devour Souls > Death From Below

Use Blink to start the gank, and then silence them with Shroud of Darkness. With the Blight active, use the Pillar of Agony, and the enemy will have limited protections. After the ultimate, use Horrific Emblem to make them slow, and then use Devour Souls to burst them. If they manage to survive that and start to get away, pursue them with Death From Below. With Blight still active from Devour Souls, Death from Below will slow them, allowing your team to secure the kill if they haven't already.

Stygian Wrath (Team Fight Combo)

A combination of your abilities to use in a team fight. Remember: you should not be the first one in the fight because of the limited health pool of Hades, so let your stronger initiators jump in first, and then follow up in suit with the following combo.

Blink > Devour Souls > Pillar of Agony > Shroud of Darkness > Death From Below

After the fight starts, Blink in and use Devour Souls to apply [url=]Blight. Then use Pillar of Agony to reduce the enemies' protections and deal damage to them in a large area. After the ultimate ends, use Shroud of Darkness to silence enemies to help clean up. If any enemies escape, pursue them with Death From Below. With the Blight active, Death From Below will slow the enemy and will not let them get away.

Pros / Cons- Hades' Strengths and Weaknesses

Pros

[*] +High burst damage
[*] +High mobility for a mage
[*] +Capable of reducing enemy protections
[*] +Mild crowd control
[*] +High sustain

Cons

[*] -Minimal health pool
[*] -Weak early game clear
[*] -Heavily reliant on abilities
[*] -Vulnerable to Crowd Control

Conclusion

Even though Hades is not a dedicated Jungler, he has enough power in the later parts of the game to truly feel like he was born to be there. All it will take to put Hades into the spotlight of your game is a well-oiled team that will combo their strengths together to make the best of any situation.

Take this into the game and give it a shot! I hope this works for you as well as it did for me!

Again, feel free to leave a review and up-vote it to make sure others see it!

Thank you very much, and best of luck with this build!

I think you should get an early Warlock's Staff (after boots)), just like you would do on He Bo. Haven't played Hades jungle since season 1 I think.

I know it can work, but you will never win a game just because of the Hades jungle pick. It is fun doing wonky stuff though!

Interesting pick for jungle, I haven't seen him at all recently
