Notes Pendulum of Ages is vital as Nut is a spam-heavy caster. Her kit revolves around the frequent use of Crashing Comet to poke and Skyfall to control the battlefield. This item provides a crucial 20% Cooldown Reduction (CDR), allowing you to rain down your ultimate more often and ensures your Warp is always ready to dodge incoming threats.

Spear of Desolation provides great Intelligence, which is vital for making your Crashing Comet hit hard against squishy mages and hunters. The passive cooldown reset on kills/assists is incredible for Nut, as it allows her to chain her resets and keep firing abilities during chaotic team fights.

Book of Thoth is the heart of your damage. Nut's abilities have high scaling, and this item converts your mana pool into a massive Intelligence boost.

Gem of Focus provides movement speed every time you cast an ability. Since Nut is constantly cycling through her 1 and 2, you will almost always have maximum stacks, helping you reposition safely and survive dives after using your Warp.

Rod of Tahuti is the highest power spike in the game. Its passive ensures 25% additional Intelligence against low-health targets, turning your Skyfall into a top damage ability if you manage to hit it properly on the center.

Obsidian Shard is essential for the late game. The 35% Penetration from this shard ensures that Nut's abilities can still shred through high-protection Guardians and Warriors.

Soul Gem provides the final piece of Nut's kit: sustain and burst. Since Nut can proc stacks very quickly with her low cooldowns, you will constantly trigger the bonus damage and heal. This turns your Skyfall into a massive turning point in late-game teamfights, damaging the entire enemy team while simultaneously healing your teammates around you.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Ragna and I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2021. I started playing in little community tournaments and after a lot of training and work I manage to play professional tournaments on Atlanta as the Smite Content Cup in 2024 and SCC on 2023 summer.

Now, in Smite 2 I have reached Deity every single split and I have competed in tournaments like Smite Vegas Qualifiers (ending in 5th position of EU) and right now Smite Prime, so Im always getting updated about the best metas on the game.

Apart from that I have a Twitch channel Ragna_smite where we play Smite 2 every single day and we do coaching for the subs to help them to improve on Smite 2, answering questions, talking about the game, etc.

Hope you find this guide as a good starting point for the midlane.

Here are my socials:

Abilities

Nut's Abilities

Passive - Flux

Hitting enemy gods with abilities grants Nut stacks of Flux. These stacks to empower her abilities with additional effects.

Managing Flux is key to maximizing your damage. Try to use basic attacks between your abilities to keep the pressure up while your cooldowns reset.

Ability 1 - Convergence

Nut fires two projectiles from her hands that converge at the center.

This is your primary damage source. The shots pierce through minions, making it excellent for clear. In an Intelligence build, these shots hit very hard, especially if you hit the center where both projectiles connect.

Ability 2 - Crashing Comet

Calls down a comet that explodes in a circular area, dealing damage and Rooting or Slowing enemies depending on your Flux stacks.

Use this to confirm your damage. If you have 4 Flux stacks, this ability "Echoes," dealing damage twice and applying a Tremble. It is your best tool to peel for yourself or lock down an enemy before unleashing your ultimate.

Ability 3 - Warp

Nut warps in the direction you are moving and fires homing projectiles at nearby enemies. Using this ability resets the cooldown of Convergence.

This is the most important mechanic in her kit. It allows you to fire your 1, warp to reposition, and immediately fire your 1 again. Save this for avoiding key enemy abilities or aggressively resetting your damage.

Ultimate - Skyfall

Nut becomes CC immune and bombards a massive area on the ground. You can aim the blasts to punish enemies trying to escape.

This ability provides huge area denial. Use it to start a teamfight, secure objectives like the Fire Giant, or simply to gain CC immunity if you are about to be pulled by an Ares or Da Ji.

Example Combos

The Reset Burst: Convergence -> Warp -> Convergence

The Lockdown: Crashing Comet (Root) -> Convergence -> Warp -> Convergence

The All-In: Skyfall (to stack Flux) -> Crashing Comet (Echo Tremble) -> Convergence

How to play Nut

Gameplay Start / Early Game
  • Push your first wave as fast as possible using your Convergence. Since the projectiles pierce, aim to hit the entire minion line and the enemy god at the same time.

  • Head to your side camps with your jungler to secure farm; Nut clears camps incredibly fast by using Warp to reset her 1, allowing you to reach your Spear of Desolation power spike faster.

  • Return to lane to push the next wave and use Crashing Comet to poke the enemy mid laner while they are clearing; the slow/root will force them to back off or take heavy damage.

  • At this stage, you are vulnerable if your Warp is on cooldown; prioritize safe farming and keep an eye on the mini-map for aggressive Junglers like Susano who can chase you down.

  • Use your Skyfall as soon as you hit level 5 to secure neutral objectives. The massive area denial is perfect for zoning enemies away from the Gold Fury or saving a teammate from a gank.

Mid Game:

  • You enter the mid-game once you have completed 3 core items, such as Book of Thoth and Spear of Desolation, which turns your ability spam into a constant stream of high-damage artillery.

  • Maintain a high farm rate by using your Convergence -> Warp -> Convergence combo to instant-clear waves, then rotate to neutral objectives or help your Jungler invade.

  • Look for rotation opportunities using the massive range of Skyfall to cut off enemy escape routes during a side-lane gank or to start a fight with full Flux stacks.

  • Focus on keeping your distance; Nut is an artillery cannon. Use Crashing Comet to catch enemies out of position and punish them with your basic attack resets.

Late Game:

  • In the late game, Nut becomes a DPS machine, capable of shredding tanks and squishies alike with her protection shred and low cooldowns.

  • Your primary goals in teamfights are:
    • Stacking your passive Flux on the frontline to shred their protections.
    • Using Warp aggressively to reset your Convergence for maximum damage, but only when you know the enemy CC is down.

  • Always position yourself at medium range; Nut needs to be close enough to hit her shots but far enough to react with Warp if an assassin dives.

  • During Fire Giant dances, use Skyfall to zone the enemy team. Placing it directly on the entrance forces the enemy to walk through massive damage or give up the objective.

  • If the enemy is pulling the Fire Giant, look for poke with Crashing Comet from over the wall, trying to root the enemy Jungler to disrupt their secure.

  • When sieging or defending Phoenixes, use your rapid fire to clear waves instantly. Your ability to reset your 1 means you can clear fire minions and still have abilities up to fight immediately after.

  • Mastering the resets mechanic of your Warp and knowing when to weave in basic attacks will distinguish you as a top-tier Nut Mid player.

How to ward as a Midlaner

Early/Mid Game

Here you can see the best spots to ward as a Midlaner.

These wards will help you to be safe during the first instances of the game, giving you the information about if your getting ganked from the solo or duo side.

Very Passive Situation

These wards will help you recover if you come from a bad spot i which maybe you are getting ganked a lot or invaded

Late Game

These wards are use to help your team on teamfight situations or fire gigant pulls, there are a lot of possibilities take those ones who you consider that suits the best to your game situation.

Siege / Defense Phoenix

For this situation there are only two main spots to have a ward, as you can see them rotating from one lane to the others, maybe you could even put one at lane to see if minions are approaching the phoenix but it isn't that important as knowing which lane they are going to siege.

As with that information you could be able to be on the right position before your enemies giving you a great advantage for the teamfight.

Regardless of the role, wards are the most important consumable you can buy, so don't forget to buy two wards after each back!
