Discordia Build

ADC Starter Build

Notes I would always recommend this starter because gives a lot of gold, attack speed and attack damage that in early game will make a difference comparing to other starters right now in the game!

Axe will evolve into Bragi's Harp.

Purification Beads will save you during early game giving CC immunity during 2 seconds.

ADC Full Build

Notes Sharpshooter's Arrow is a great starter for this aspect because it gives you attack speed and basic attack damage right away, which is exactly what you need to get your empowered autos going early.

Bragi's Harp fits perfectly on a hybrid Discordia. On top of power and attack speed, every hit adds bonus magical damage, so both your abilities and your basics hit harder.

Tyrfing gives you a nice chunk of power and helps your overall damage scale, keeping your poke and your autos relevant as the game goes on.

Odysseus' Bow is amazing for wave clear and teamfights. Its chain lightning on your basics lets you shred minion waves fast and spread damage when enemies group up.

The Executioner is a must against tanky teams. It shreds enemy protections as you attack, so you can actually kill the frontline and junglers instead of just tickling them.

Silverbranch Bow is your attack-speed spike. The passive fires a homing arrow on every 3rd basic, and you get an extra arrow for every 1.0 attack speed you have, so the more you stack, the more free damage you pump out.

Bracer Of The Abyss rounds off the build with power and attack speed, and its stacking basic attack damage rewards you for landing hits and multi-hit abilities, which you do constantly.

Alternatives

Notes Titan's Bane provides you with a great amount of penetration being a very cheap item, so it is a solid swap when the enemy team is stacking protections and you need to punch through their tanks faster.

Hastened Fatalis is a good mid/late game choice because of the passive: whenever you hit an auto attack to an enemy god your basic attack movement penalty is reduced, which can make a huge difference in offensive situations like chasing an enemy or kiting a diver off you.

Riptalon you should always consider this item because of its statistics and passive which allows you to have a really good survival and sustain kit, keeping you healthy in extended fights.

Relics

Notes Phantom Shell should be bought if their set up doesn't have gods with much CC's and they have walls in their kits like Ymir or Cabrakan.

Aegis of Acceleration it is a really good option because it has low CD. You should always buy it in the games where the enemy gods don't have much CC's or in the case they have many burst skills.

Introduction

Hey, this guide is brought to you by TottiGR! I started playing Smite on PC in February 2014. I have been playing competitive since 2016 and I have been a professional Smite player between March 2020 to July 2023. I have played in different teams like JustF6, Gilded Gladiators or Tartarus Titans this last year in the Smite Pro League (You can always check the SmiteVod Youtube Channel where there's my professional games recorded). I have peaked 3500 MMR GrandMaster/Masters in Ranked Conquest on PC platform every season since 2017 (SEASON 4). I also made Smite Masters (LAN) 4 times in 2022 so I really think I have the knowledge in guiding about the ADC role in SMITEGAME. I hope you find this guide as a useful learning resource for playing Discordia as an ADC.

Discordia Abilities

Discordia's Abilities

Passive - Contest of Gods

With the Aspect of the Gilded Victor, a portion of your intelligence is converted into attack damage, so every point of power you buy also feeds your basic attacks.
On top of that, every time you level up, get a kill, or get an assist, you gain a random temporary self buff for a few seconds: bonus intelligence, lifesteal, or healing.
This is what lets you build hybrid and snowball once fights start popping off.

Ability 1 - Unruly Magic

Discordia fires an orb that damages everything in a line and then returns back to her for reduced damage (the aspect removes the explosion, so it hits twice: out and back).
Every time the orb hits an enemy god, and every time it returns to you, you gain a stack that makes your next Basic Attacks explode into minor projectiles that deal bonus damage.
This is your main poke AND your basic-attack empowerment tool.

Ability 2 - Strife

Discordia creates a rectangular area of chaos that deals damage. If it catches only one enemy, they are rooted; if it catches two or more, they are afflicted with madness and forced to attack each other.
This is your setup and self-peel ability (it is unchanged by the aspect). Always try to land it on at least two gods so they stay put long enough for your combo.

Ability 3 - Erratic Behavior

With the aspect, this stops being a stealth field and becomes a pure DPS steroid. Discordia leaps a short distance and gains a burst of movement speed, attack speed, and attack damage for a few seconds.
This is your engage, reposition, and damage button. Use it defensively to dash away from ganks, or offensively to jump onto the enemy carry, pop your attack-speed buff, and shred them with your empowered basics. Because it moves you, you can also leap over walls to escape divers like Fenrir.

Ultimate - Golden Apple of Discord

Discordia throws the Golden Apple, a hard-hitting single-target nuke. With the aspect it is faster and no longer spreads: it hits, then explodes for a second burst, scaling with 100% of your attack damage on top of your intelligence.
Any god hit is Crippled (no movement abilities) and Trembled for 2s, so they can't escape or fight back. Aim it at the priority target and follow up with autos + Erratic Behavior to secure the kill.

Discordia Combos

  • Poke/Wave Clear: Unruly Magic → Basic Attacks. The orb hits going out and coming back, which loads up your autos to explode. You'll be doing this all game.
  • All-in: Strife Unruly Magic → Basic Attacks → Erratic Behavior. Root them first, load your orb, hit them with your autos, then jump in with the 3 to finish the enemy.
  • Pick with Ult: Golden Apple of Discord Strife Unruly Magic → Basic Attacks. Start with the apple so they can't dash or fight back, then chain the rest. Good targets die here.
  • Engage: Erratic Behavior Strife Unruly Magic → Basic Attacks. Use this when you need to close the gap first.
  • Escape: Strife Erratic Behavior. Root whoever jumps you and dash out. You have no stealth with this aspect, so this is how you get away from ganks.

How to play Discordia as ADC

Gameplay Start / Early Game:
  • Start at the purple buff with your support, push two waves to hit level 2, and take the central buff if you've won the early pressure. Discordia clears fast with Unruly Magic, so use that to be first on rotations.

  • Your damage pattern is Unruly Magic into empowered Basic Attacks: fire the orb through the enemy ADC (it hits twice, out and back), then walk up and auto. Poke them whenever they step up to farm.

  • Golden Apple of Discord is a high-cooldown pick, NOT a spam ult. Save it to secure kills or help your jungler gank by locking the enemy ADC with Cripple + Tremble.

  • Look to fight around the central/experience camps or the purple buffs. If ahead, land Strife to Root the enemy ADC and burst them; if not, poke safely. You have no stealth escape, so keep the map warded and know where the jungler is.

  • Be active on comms (timers, dives, Gold Fury) and always buy wards to control objectives and stay safe from ganks.

Mid Game:
  • Rotate onto the Pyromancer and look to attempt, contest, or steal the Gold Fury. Discordia shreds objectives well with orb + empowered autos.

  • Only rotate with your wave pushed and the duo jungle gone, or you'll fall behind in farm. DO NOT ROTATE IF YOU'RE 2+ LEVELS BEHIND THE OTHER ADC.

  • Ward the Gold Fury with Sentry Wards and stay aware of enemy rotations, your death hands it to them for free. Hold Strife to self-peel with a Root if a diver jumps you.

  • Position beside your midlaner, peel for each other, and use Strife on two or more enemies for Madness before your combo. Use Golden Apple of Discord to lock down anyone contesting the objective.

Late Game:
  • Play the backlane behind your frontline, working around your midlaner to pump sustained DPS into the biggest threats while staying alive through positioning.

  • Have your actives ready ( Purification Beads, Aegis of Acceleration or Phantom Shell) before Fire Giant, and pop your defensive active the moment they engage on you, since you have no stealth escape.

  • Hold Golden Apple of Discord for the enemy carry or a key target, chaining it with Strife and Erratic Behavior for a free pick.

  • Stay safe and your team will have the DPS to close out Fire Giant or end the game. BE CONSTANTLY CALLING INFORMATION AND TRUST YOUR DECISION MAKING!

How to Ward as ADC

Normal Early / Mid Game Warding:

I would always try to get this two wards (NORMAL WARDS -> White Colour) because with them you can easily control most of the jungle size around duo lane, avoiding enemy jungler ganks or even support ambushes. You can also control the Gold Fury objetive during the mid game phase of the game and communicate your team anything happening over the duo lane!

Defensive Warding:

Here are warding spots for ADCs if you are behind with gold or experience compared to the other hunter. If the enemy team has your purple timer you should always try to Sentry Ward (GREEN COLOUR CIRCLE) your purple buff and make sure to call your teammates at least 1 minute before spawning.

Offensive Warding:

In case you have a high pressure duo set up (ADC with good clear and fighting capability and a support with crowd control, push and mobility) you should look to invade enemy purple buffs. This type of wards will make an easier way for you and your teammates to come over purple pit before spawning and being ready for stealing it [you will always know who is coming to gank you so you must be prepared]

Fire Giant Warding:

These two maps are efficient ways to use ADC vision to help your team know the position of enemies before starting a fight around the objective.

When you start fighting around Fire Giant, you should always look to ward in the same places as a midlaner because you two (ADC and MID) form what we call as "backlaners" (the roles who are supposed to deal DPS and damage to enemies), you will be sharing the responsibility for this rather than handling it alone, especially when it's not safe for you to step up to place deeper wards. Any wards placed closer to the objective within the Fire Giant pit tend to get destroyed by Sentries more often than not, so they tend to not be reliable.

Remember, minions act as moving wards in the lanes, and are able to spot nearby gods. If your towers are down, keep your minions pushed up as much as possible to provide an extra set of eyes and pressure.
