Pendulum of Ages as
Anubis relies heavily on his
Mummify to survive ganks. This item grants 20% Cooldown Reduction (CDR), ensuring your stun and your ultimate are available as often as possible.
Spear of Desolation This provides great amount of intelligence that allows you to deal great damage to squishy targets (Mages/Hunters) in the early-to-mid game. The passive cooldown reset is amazing for chain-killing enemies in teamfights.
Gem of Focus
Anubis its a very static god, making him an easy target. This item grants Movement Speed to help you positioning, making it easier for you to survive while you burn down the enemy on a teamfight.
Book of Thoth is the heart of your damage as this item converts your mana pool into a massive Intelligence boost, making you combos capable of one-shotting enemies in the mid-game
Totem Of Death is mandatory on
Anubis. Because his abilities tick rapidly, he instantly fully stacks the 30% Protection Shred passive. This allows him to melt tanks faster than any other mage in the game while gaining a massive 20% Cooldown Rate to keep his stun up.
Rod of Tahuti is your primary power spike. Its passive increases your total Item Intelligence by 25%, acting as a massive multiplier for your build. The added Max Mana synergizes perfectly with
Book of Thoth, giving
Anubis the raw damage numbers needed to melt tanks in seconds.
Obsidian Shard is your Tank destroyer. It ensures your ultimate remains a threat to everyone on the map, not just the enemy carries."

Divine Ruin instead of
Spear of Desolation if the enemy has heavy healing (e.g.,
Aphrodite,
Baron Samedi, or high Lifesteal builds).
Soul Gem instead
Gem of Focus if you want to have less movement speed but more lifesteal.
Time-Lock Aegis or
Blinking Abyss instead of
Gem of Focus if you want to have a doble relic.

While
Plague of Locusts does more damage, you should prioritize maxing
Grasping Hands first. The safety of clearing from range prevents you from being poked out of lane. Use your 1 only to finish off minions or when you have confirmed a stun with
Mummify.

Hi, my name is Ragna and I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2021. I started playing in little community tournaments and after a lot of training and work I manage to play professional tournaments on Atlanta as the Smite Content Cup in 2024 and SCC on 2023 summer.
Now, in Smite 2 I have reached Deity every single split and I have competed in tournaments like Smite Vegas Qualifiers (ending in 5th position of EU) and right now Smite Prime, so Im always getting updated about the best metas on the game.
Apart from that I have a Twitch channel Ragna_smite where we play Smite 2 every single day and we do coaching for the subs to help them to improve on Smite 2, answering questions, talking about the game, etc.
Hope you find this guide as a good starting point for the midlane.

Passive - Gain bonus Lifesteal, Physical Protection, and Magical Protection. These bonuses increase as your health declines. At maximum stacks (8), Bonus Protections are doubled and Bonus Lifesteal is tripled. This passive defines your playstyle as a "Drain Tank." When you are low on health, do not run away. Instead, turn and fight, as your tripled Lifesteal allows you to heal through incoming damage faster than enemies can kill you. |

Ability 1 - Locusts fly from your mouth, repeatedly dealing Magical Damage in a cone area in front of you. You are Displacement Immune but Slowed while channeling this ability. This is your highest damage non-ultimate ability. Use the Displacement Immunity to counter gods with Knockups. Since you can move while casting, use it to chase down targets slowed by your |

Ability 2 - Fires a bandage projectile that deals Magical Damage and Stuns the first enemy god hit. It passes through minions but stops on walls and gods. This is your only setup tool and defensive peel. It is a thin skillshot, so take your time to aim. Landing this guarantees that your target stays inside your |

Ability 3 - Summons allies from the underworld to deal repeated Magical Damage and apply a Slow in an area. The Slow refreshes on each hit. This is your safest clear and poke ability. Use it to zone enemies or drop it on top of yourself if an Assassin dives you. Because it ticks 4 times over 1.5 seconds, it instantly stacks item passives like |
