Introduction

Welcome to my guide for Agni, God of Fire

I'm TheSirDrake. My favourite gamemodes are arena and Clash and I play with every god. This is a guide with build for Agni, a god I'd say I'm pretty experienced with.
Note: I'm planning on making some videos to help explaining what I mean.

This is my very first guide for smitefire! I'm planning on making a lot more. I just want to see how this one turns out. I also want to credit Zilby for making a guide template on which I based mine esthetically.

Here's Agni, Hindu God of Fire

Pros & Cons

Pros:
Killer Combo
Damaging escape Path of Flames
Long range ult Rain Fire
Decent damage
DOT with passive Combustion

Cons:
Squishy
Vulnerable if Path of Flames is down
Weak against assassins
Vulnerable until late game

Abilities

Passive - Combustion
I really think that this is an underrated passive. Combustion is a DOT (Damage Over Time) passive that gets activated when Agni hits 4 basic attacks. When the passive is complete, the next target will get damaged every .5 seconds for 3 seconds. This has already killed some enemies for me, especially when I ult a far enemy and he's on almost no health.

1 - Noxious Fumes
This ability was made to be combined with the 3 other abilities. It does a little bit damage over time, but I strongly advise you to never use it alone. When you use any other ability on the Noxious Fumes, it explodes the gas in an area and stuns for 1s. I know it's not much but it's certainly worth. You can really turn around a team fight if all enemies are stunned for that 1s. You can for example combine it with other ults like ares' or hades' ult.

2 - Flame Wave
This is Agni's main damaging ability (besides his ult). This can clear waves easily and might be used to finish of enemies. It's very strong and must be used wisely, especially early game when the cooldowns are high. Combined with Noxious Fumes, this is good if you're being chased and you already have a little head start.

3 - Path Of Flames
This is your escape. Be very careful with this because if you use this in an unnecessary situation, it might mean you can't use it a few seconds later if you're in grave danger. This is also a common situation: you're trapped and Loki is chasing you, but he's closer to your base than you are. Here's what you do: you place down Noxious Fumes under his feet and then you use Path of Flames through him and on the gas. This will stun him and give you a head start. This has saved me multiple times!

4 - Rain Fire
This is the most typical element of Agni. However, I think you should always try to combine it with Noxious Fumes. This makes it easier for you to hit your next ult and for your allies to hit that target. It's also a very good finisher. Here's how you use it: (note: I set all my abilities except my ult on Quick Casting for ease) you choose your place to strike and you ult once there. Before the giant ball hits the ground, you quickly place Noxious Fumes on the area. This will give the enemies a shorter time period to escape the ult and they will be stunned.

Game Tactics

Early Game

Note: This part counts for all builds
This is, in my opinion, the most crucial phase of the game for you. You have to be present, but not in the field itself. Stay on the back line, but don't go too far from your team. This can make you vulnerable for assassins like Loki or Thanatos. You can even use your ult to clear waves.
Don't participate completely in teamfights. If a teamfight happens, try to flank the enemies. If a low-health enemy tries to escape, you can kill him, but certainly don't stay too long. Early-game should end when you complete your second item Chronos' Pendant.

Mid Game
Balanced Build
Mid game doesn't change much for the balanced build. Try to stay on the back line. Don't be in midst battle and certainly don't engage. You can poke from time to time as long as it doesn't endanger you. The way I play him, I don't go in big battles. I try to stay on the sides and as soon as an enemy leaves, I attack.
Aggressive Build
The aggressive build grants you more power and penetration which means you can be more present. Poke from time to time so the enemies have to return more often. The triple-ult can really take a big chunck of a player's health away. Use it, but use it wisely. You're the nightmare of squishy enemies and you have the distance advantage, which makes it more difficult for players like Odin, Ares, Hades, Tyr, etc to bring you into the middle of the fight where you are most vulnerable.
Support Build
Personally, I'm not such a big fan of this build but I just wanted to add it for fun. Don't consider this build as something serious you should main. Use it as a 'dare me' build to do with your friends. The playstyle is that you're some sort of saviour of your teammates. This is the situation you'll be most useful: a teammate is being chased by 1 or more enemies. He's on very low health. Here's what you do: you place a Noxious Fumes under the enemie and then you use your Path of Flames to detonate the gas and stun him for 1s. Then you have to bodyblock the rest of the shots so your teammate can escape safely. Only do this if you won't bring yourself in danger. 1 death is better than 2 deaths.

Late Game
Balanced Build
This time around you're probably the god with the most power and penetration of your team, or even of the whole game if you've created an advantage. I often don't finish my whole build because it's so expensive, but when I do, I'm really powerful. You can kill enemies with a lot more hp than before. Don't waste your ult on tanky enemies. Use it to eliminate the gods with the most power. Don't initiate but wait until they're half health.
Aggressive Build
You have a lot of power on your hands but note that you're still very squishy. Never initiate, but participate in team fights from a distance. If you have bad luck and there's a Loki in their team, place Noxious Fumes under yourself when Loki strikes. Then use Path of Flames to get a head start and stun him.
Support Build
You should be pretty tanky by now. Your main role is still to make sure people survive chases. What I often do is when I see a teammate chase an enemy, I follow him and after he (potentially) kills the enemy, make sure he returns alive. Stun the people who will be chasing you.

Great guide! I'm still new to Smite and I've been playing (Sw)Agni a lot. I run your aggressor build full time in Joust and have had great results. So much late game power! Thanks for your effort.
