Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is Lustygrouper and this is my first guide. I am here today to talk to you all about our freindly feline Bastet. I first attempted playing her just for fun and immedietley fell in love. She is great at 1 v 1 battles, initiating and escaping fights, and doing a high amount of physical burst damage. If you're looking for a flexible, fun, interesting god I would highly recommend Bastet.

Now down to why you are here. This guide is for beginner and average players who want to start playing with Bastet. I do not admit to being a pro player, but I have played many games with Bastet and feel my views on her are worthwhile to take a look at.

Above I have layed out three separate builds for Bastet. They are intended to appeal to any sort of player, the damage fiend, the all-star and steady-as-she-goes player. Obviously if you're fed early game or fall behind you may want to vary the builds to your current situation.

By no means are these rules you should follow to a T, these are merely guidelines to help players become better with Bastet.

Items

devourer's gloves - As you can tell I am huge advocate of devourer's gloves and feel they are important part to all of my builds. In my opinion Bastet does not need that much lifesteal. Most of my fights with her are either ganks or waiting for an opportuninty in team fights. This item gives me the neccessary amount of lifesteal while adding in a decent amount of physical damage. Get full stacks ASAP and reap the rewards.

- I like to get if I have a tankier lane partner or just feel like going more damage I will choose these boots. They are great for damage but lack the survivability of the alternative.

reinforced boots - This is your alternative. I really like these boots for a couple reasons. One, they give you the early game survivability with the magic and physical protection. But, they also give you some HP5. In my opinion this is HUGE early game. It has saved me countless gold in the past. There is no need for health pots while laning, so you save money not buying them while staying in lane longer to gain more gold. In my opinion, a win-win situation.

- This is a no brainer for any physical carry. We want the crit, we want the damage, and we want the crit bonus. Just a great item. The downside to this is its high cost. So, if you're having trouble with your lane and slow on gold, maybe wait an item or two to buy this beast.

- Armor penetration! Love the armor penetration via . Gives you bonus attack speed, physical power and armor penetration. All great stats for when ganking the innocent. This is my choice for armor penetration but if you are facing more than one tanks I may suggest instead.

- The passive on this item makes it one of my favorite physical damage items in the game. When I land my abilities then auto attack this eats chunks of enemy health. The stats on it are awesome as well. More damage, more attack speed, and some extra health!

Skills

- Our flexibility skill. Use it to initiate, escape and distract! Early game I love to pounce into the enemy, land claws, and pounce back. It forces them to be safer and deals some decent damage. The beauty of this skill is the fact that you can click the button again and return to the inital location of the jump. This is great for harrassing enemies or escaping a sticky situation. It fits almost any situation so use it wisely! The cooldown is a little rough.

razor claws - This skill is our bread and butter. razor claws is our main damage skill. It is a great bleed attack that scales well with our damage. It can also be used in many situations. Pounce in and bleed the enemy and pounce out before they knew what hit them. The other main use is to lure our Cats. We will talk about that in our Ultimate section.

nine tails - Slow down, where are you going?! Our slow and chase ability. Use this when you jump in on an enemy and they aren't going anywhere. It does damage as well when it hits, so thats a plus! It also lets our Cats catch up with them. Great ganking ability and distance closer when is on cooldown.

cat call - Who let the Cats out? A lot of people tend to undersetimate this ultimate. In my opinion it's one of the best ganking ult's in the game. Three Cats that are drawn to the scent of blood and do a decent amount of damage? I'll take it.

The best method of ganking with Bastet is to into the fray, lay down your razor claws, hit them with your nine tails and release the cat call. Good luck to anyone trying to escape that vicious combo. High damage, slow them, a bleed, 3 new enemies for them to kill and you auto attacking. Cat food.

Summary

In summary, Bastet has a lot of tools at her disposle and has the potential to do very high amounts of damage. Her escapability is very good as well as her initiation. However, she does have some weaknesses. The biggest one I would say is her defense. If caught in a bad situation with on cooldown you will recieve a ton of damage. She isn't built for the front lines so don't go straight into the enemies or they will eat you alive. Play it safe and strike quickly if you want to succeed.

Pros / Cons

PROS

- High damage output

- Great ganking capability

- Flexibility throughout the game

CONS

- Very low damage protection

- When is on cooldown, low survivability

- limited range of ultimate
