Well I'm still fairly new to Smite Fire, only a couple months or idek, but I never understood what some ranks are for. I've seen I think Mowen or some administrator comment about what veteran was for but, still not sure o.o. I obviously understand what the Moderator and Administrator ranks are for (making sure things are in the right forum section, nobody is breaking forum rules, managing the community xD, releasing new content), but what about ranks like editor and veteran?

From what I know, editors can fix information in the smite database. Not sure if that's wrong, right, or the only thing they can do.

I really have no idea what the veteran rank is for other than signifying someone is a veteran. Unless that's the point of veteran o.o

I've also seen some people have different colored names for the same rank, is that for a special reason? I'm a curious boi

I'm pretty sure editors can edit the database. I'm still not sure what veteran does exactly, even though I think it's just to show they have been here for a good while. You already know moderator/administrator. I am pretty sure if they are an editor and a veteran at the same time. That their name still shows green. I'm like 48% sure on all that information.

Everything higher on the chain can also do what comes lower

Admins can do whatever they please, basically.
Moderators can handle threads, homepage things, create news articles, as well as a few other administrative things.
Editors can edit items, gods, and god rotations, that's it.
Veterans are just glorified Editors. They gain no new powers but are more 'respectable' or something than Editors.

At the moment, there's only two moderators, about 3 admins (Mowen, Alan, and Flash, there was a 4th but I have basically never seen him), and many veterans/editors

Raventhor is lying. Editors can adjust rep, give negative rep, and edit your profile.
Veterans can change the days and posts count on your profile; that's why every Veteran is so old and has so many posts.
Mods can delete your account and posts, and even your guides.
Admins can delete you from existence.

He's sadly correct, but will be quickly ousted by the rest of the veterans and subsequently deleted for revealing our secrets.
We're sorry Sub, we loved you but you betrayed us.
It has been fun, Comarade. As I've loved you dearly personally, I'll give you time to run before I tell our superiors.

You're nothing. You're our minions who do our bidding. But you're good minions, so we keep you around.
