So, I'm new here... I only realized a few weeks ago that the official Smite forums had been obliterated, and I haven't gotten around to seeking out any other places to get Smite news.
I've been playing quite a bit lately, and ever since they polarized the power stats (all mages to pure magic, everyone else does pure physical...), I've been wanting to find out why exactly, and if it will ever change.
The setup just really bugs me... first of all, some of the cool hybrid options have been greatly simplified (e.g. Freya). Secondly, it bothers me that every hero has a useless stat now that just stays 0 the entire game. Thirdly, Ymir and Vulcan have large blunt objects they use to pound people into the ground... dealing magic damage just looks silly.
I'm sure they did this for some balance reason, mostly I was just wondering what ya'll thought about it and if they have plans to go back to the dual power stat arrangement they had before. This is probably a slowbro thread seeing as how this change was made a while ago... apologies for that.
Well, even before then Isis had a magic auto attack, which was quite unique. I really do wonder what the reason was behind the change. It's hard to find out with their forums gone.
This is my signature. It is full of vowels and consonants.

It's not game breaking and I still play a lot, I think it just oversimplifies the game though. I especially think it's stupid that they block you from buying certain items. What if I just want the passive effect of an item even though not all its stats apply to my god? I can't think of any specific circumstance that would warrant it, but I'd like the option nonetheless.

A tank with Voidblade to let your carry do more damage is a good example on something you can't do anymore... So dumb!
