Hm, Ares's viability certainly depends on his team's composition. If Ares is the tank, then he is horrible - his only peel is an ultimate that everyone counters. However, there is another tank, such as Ymir, then he can be extremely effective - long duration cripples + ultimate that ensures the real tank's CC won't be beads'd + high damage can be very frustrating.
S+ tier: Weakening Curse
S tier: Xbalanque, Zeus, Chang'e
A tier: Hel, Mercury, Chronos, Zhong Kui, Ow Kwang, Freya, Sun Wukong
B tier: He Bo, Hercules, Agni, Poseidon, Sun Wukong, Bacchus, others (bored of doing this)
