When in the game just hold space button move your mouse down a little bit, and you wont be looking right in the sky when trying to put an aoe ability on the ground. oh and dont forget to release the spacebar when the mouse is in the right position :)

I know what u mean u want 2 aim further without your god being in the way but i think u cant do it sadly

Just FYI, this thread is from 2013.

But there is the restricted camera pitch in gameplay settings (i think). Which makes it so that you can't tilt the camera upwards as much as you normally can.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
