Smitefire  |  Rant  |  This is Stupid
Right now, I just straight up do NOT suggest even logging on to SmiteFire. I'm not even going make an effort to be productive until it's fixed.

That's maybe an overreaction, depending on who you ask, but to me, actual Smite-related content was a 100% core feature on here. The only other place where it is 100% core is the rarely seen "productive SmiteFire" (oh and sure, SmiteGuru too, happy DukeSloth?). But for productive SmiteFire (which I'm going to abbreviate as p!SF), it got an arguably BETTER version of existing in disappearing whenever it's replaced by its counterpart (memeing SmiteFire, which I'm going to abbreviate as m!SF)...yes, it loses a bit of reliability from its solid guides that become neglected, but it added DANK MEMES, went back DOWN in reputation, and so...yay for m!SF?

But see, m!SF has some really nice things going for it. Besides sticking to your waking mind with the new meme, it has:
  • Active veterans... Devampi did not say a word to us from October 20, 2016 to May 20, 2017, but these ___iness vol 1: a ___ rant blogs get everybody talking. p!SF does not have active veterans.
  • Roasts, after which everyone involved can continue laughing away. p!SF can interrupt with a "hey, be nice", a lesser concern and at distance, AND it can't do anything while that's hanging there...
  • A community involvement that makes it IMMEDIATELY unkillable (*edit* thanks DukeSloth for pointing out the inaccuracy) for the duration (up to 5 weeks). p!SF's community involvement (when it was at its peak) makes it so Reddit can't mock us anymore, but any bad reputation we already had still applies. So m!SF comes around, it doesn't die. p!SF comes around... yup, I've been the only one commenting on guides before.
  • A blogs section that gives it increased enjoyment and a lot of fun, even when a meme dies. Um... p!SF had memes in its blogs section... but m!SF ALSO gets a limited number of attention through dumb **** like these rants!
The things p!SF had going for it are higher potential help for new players at full productivity with guide-writing contests, and reviews on its guides... AS LONG AS THE COMMUNITY IS ACTIVE. When people leave, it's mostly screwed... yes, whoever's left could write guides with no input, but that lowers its integrity while it's got attention, and then with just comments it now has to be DUMB like m!SF in order to keep people interested (which at this point is also below m!SF's potential enjoyment). If it did the normal thing and had both people writing guides and commenting on guides at around the same time, it has very low DPS with just its blogs, again only when being stupid.

Okay guys, you want to do this the right way? No super long guides getting completely forgotten in favor of inside jokes, which you're SOOOO clever for coming up with. New and improved! If you want to drop the serious nature p!SF could get, drop the harsh unhelpful guide-bashing. If you want to avoid other sites from making fun of us, drop the walls of text, or don't (cuz what do you care)... but GET F-ING RID OF THAT PROCRASTINATION.

And if you don't like these other options by themselves...how about bump the activity back up? Changing from 2,150 members (made p!SF S Tier at the beginning of S3) to 2,600 members and doing NOTHING else dropped p!SF from OP status.

Seriously...there are tons of options...BETTER options...than what actually happened.

My fellow users, if you honestly like where Smitefire is, then I'm expecting a little love for the productive side in the next patch. I know a lot of people have ideas for that too, if you are interested. Thank you in advance.

Technotoad...give me a rant comic on this or something, lol. Oh wait, nevermind you don't like making those anymore.
