I'm done.

I will stop grinding league. I won't be trying for Gold.

A few months ago, I had the entertaining delusion that if I were a gold or higher player, people would take my jungling guides seriously. So I started to climb.

After passing bronze and entering silver, then playing a LOT of games, I realized something. These games aren't about skill. They're about who has the worse team.

Still, I kept grinding like an idiot. Now I realized something else.

It isn't going to get better.

It is never going to get better.

I could be in ****ing platinum, and it won't get better.

I know I'm a good player. I've had some incredible matches and carried through some really insane ****. But I keep losing because someone on our team is an utter idiot. And what made it worse, was that most of the time, I won because someone on the enemy team was also an idiot.

I can't play like this anymore.

I will still be playing league, just not competitively. I'll be playing to test my guides and builds, and to stay in Silver. But until the playerbase becomes bigger or HiRez fixes their broken system, I'm finished.

To RazeMage and UnknownPandr, I'm sorry. I played only a single game of Neith jungler and I've stalled my Guan jungle guide for this. Now I feel incredibly stupid, wasting hours of time for an ultimately luck-based system.

HiRez, for the love of God, give some more info on reporting. People never take it seriously. When I report people in League, there are so many options and you feel like something is being done about it. In Smite, you get the most generic options, and nothing happens.

I've had a Chaac on my team who kept saying **** like "I don't chat with spammers" or "I only talk to people who are more competent than you." He kept dying because apparently calling VI3 meant nothing to him.

Post-match lobby, I tried reporting him for noncom. He said "lol u cant report me for that." And the others agreed with him.

tl;dr: FOR ****'S SAKE, HIREZ, GIVE A TRUCKING LIST OF WHAT CAN BE REPORTED, AND MAKE NONCOM ONE OF THE OFFENSES!!!

sometimes you just gotta step back for a moment a realize its just a game its made it entertain you not not make you feel bad because you had a bad game which you're more likely to have than a good games for most players so just remember have fun and give the noobs advice instead of yelling at them we all gotta learn somehow right?

SMITE's matchmaking has too many problems at the moment, hence why I rarely set foot into ranked. A few things need to change before I can seriously consider it.

Timed queues. This is possibly one of the biggest issues with queues in this game currently: they run on timers, and draw from whatever pool of players have queued up for the gametype. It's a bigger problem in Ranked because not only is it on a longer timer that discourages players from lining up when they knowhave to wait 10 minutes for a match, but because once that timer runs out, the server tries to make do with whoever has queued up. Queues should be more like LoL where the timer is undefined, and the server waits until a sizeable quantity of players have signed up, and begins sorting them into matches if it sees relatively close ELOs.
Player skill balancing. This kind of ties into the previous point, but basically, SMITE's matchmaking has a tendency to "balance" teams by sticking one high ELO player with a lot of low-ELOs. This doesn't produce even matches because one player being vastly more skilled than the rest of his team rarely matches up to five opponents who are assumed to be more skilled than four of his teammates. The skilled player might win his lane easy, but the rest of his team would have a high probability of feeding, assuming the skill factor kicks in. Again, teams should be close to each other in skill across the board, rather than trying to assume one good player can compensate for several bad ones.
Better handling of ELO gain/loss. Being a tank or support is one of the worst roles you could be put into if you're hoping to climb up the ranks. Whenever you win or lose, how much your rise or fall depends on your K/D/A. Kills are valued over all else, while assists are a pittance and deaths are a detriment. It doesn't matter how good of a job you perform by absorbing lots of damage and not dying, or bailing out your teammates, everyone else who is actually doing the killing (and needs the kills to get fed) will be gaining ELO/rank points much faster than the ones who are just supporting. I understand they don't want people getting "carried" into higher ranks, but there's a difference between going 1/3/20 and 1/11/4; one was someone who was actively helping the team best they could, the other is a feeder who doesn't know what he's doing.

Being Gold or higher wouldn't make a guide better. The information would be the same you'd just have more bragging rights which doesn't improve a guide. Don't bother like already stated, the ranking system is broken. You're guide is legit which is why I have a link to it in my guide. I applied some of it when I jungle so thanks.

Well I'm not going to rehash what I assume DJ and TT said, I'll just leave you with this.

We have NEVER ignored you or not taken you seriously based on your rank. You have very thorough explanations, theorycrafting, and experience in the matter. As long as you SHOW us why it's good, that's good enough for us, and you reliably and consistently have. You, sir, are known as the meta-breaking jungler, and known for being good at it. You don't have to prove yourself to us, just prove the guides, which you have done and will continue doing.

Sorry ranked didn't turn out well, but kudos for simply trying, my friend.

@DarkJaw: It's like a mobius strip of pain. Matchmaking is bad because of the lack of players. There are a lack of players because of the bad matchmaking. I wonder how LoL ever got off the ground?

@TT: Yeah, I've seen you play, and you definitely deserve your spot. I also agree with your other point - wins and losses alone are not enough to determine skill.

I didn't read it all because I 100% agreed with you the moment you said it's about who has the worst team. I, personally, believe I deserve my position in platinum. I hope it doesn't sound too narcissistic to say that I am one of the best Arena players. But at the same time, I don't believe the games I won or lost really determined whether or not I should have been. It was really about which team had the worst players rather than intense, highly competitive games.

The only time I truly enjoyed league was when it first came out and all the good people were playing.

Welcome to the MOBA games, please enjoy your stay. Now, talking seriously, people have good games and bad games. If you're experienced enough, you'll see other people's mistakes, and you'll feel incomodated by it, that's a fact. Many people don't belong to their division, and that's what I can tell about you, from your attitude and teaching. I've not played with you yet, but you always sounded mature and serious to me. Might be like that as well in-game.

I, myself, gave up of Smite's Ranked long ago. Yes, the matchmaking in the game is terrible, and people are that much stupid. That's why I only play the game with friends or when I feel confortable to. If they, at some point, implement a Group Ranked of 5s, then sure, I'll be back to the rankeds. Or if they ever improve the matchmaking, which seems to be a very far, far away dream.

Smite gotta learn about Matchmaking with League of Legends. I'm climbing up to Gold soon, and that's just the start of the season. I get paired up with competent players, and not players that still buy the ''recommended'' items and follow a restrict build.

People on Smite feed and complains about you. Oh, let me just run into a 1v3 as a underfed carry and scream at my Support for not helping me at all. Or just complain about kill stealing in the entire game instead of taking down the towers.

The list goes on.

tl;dr: Smite's matchmaking sucks, thus I only play with friends or on casual. LoL matchmaking is superior to Smite, and HiRez gotta learn that from Riot. With that bad matchmaking, there are always bad players playing with you complaining about YOU, without complaining about theirselves, of course.
