Intro

Hello everyone, this is my first tutorial so dont be harsh on me. :)

Ymir is one of the most played champs so I tryed to make a guide based on what I have seen. The cool thing about Ymir is that you can play with him TANK, Off-Tank or APC, thanks to his AOE spells.

I will update the guide as I see better builds, but dont think this is the only build, you can modify it as you want.

Positive and Negative aspects

Ymir is an good champ to play for starters but there are few things that you need to keep in mind.

Positive:
- Good tanking in the beginning
- Nice AOE spells
- Lots of ways to play in-game

Negative:
- Really slow movement
- Your busted if in danger you have Frost Breath in cooldown

Few tips for in-game

There are a lot of ways to play with him but I`ll give you few tips.

KEEP IN MIND THAT TANK YMIR IS NOT THE DAMAGE MAKER, HE ASSIST FOR THE KILLS!

1. Ymir should be in the front lines, your job is to tank and make sure that the enemy attack only you, if they dont you should help your teammate.
2. If your team attack a tower and there are no minions, you should tank the tower.
3. Icewall is an awesome spell that you should practice, it can:
- Help a teammate escape death
- Block enemy escape path and secure his kill
4. If you see that enemys are attacking, use Icewall INFRONT OF YOU (the enemy may think that your trying to escape and if you see that they are STILL COMING use Shards of Ice (this should be made in instant) its a good chance that you will get more enemys in your range, if you see that most of them will escape, right click so you stop the ultimate and explode.
5. You can also, get close to the enemy use Frost Breath on them and use your Shards of Ice.
6. Good combo is: Frost Breath > Glacial Strike > Icewall (block enemy escape path)

You really didn't test this thoroughly, did you? It's impossible to get Shield of Regrowth on Ymir. He does magical damage and as such can't get items that give him physical power. Please, test your build thoroughly before and after you make a your guide with it.

Couple things
>There's like no magic protection. You have Mystical Mark, Breastplate of Valor, and Sovereignty for physical, but only Stone of Gaia for magic protection. I don't count Shield of Regrowth for two reasons: the amount it gives is mediocre, and you CAN'T USE IT. It has physical power, Ymir is magical. You literally can't use the item, the game doesn't let you.

>As a tank you should be matching Frost Breath over Glacial Strike. As a tank, you need CC to be useful, and the increasing length of the stun is nice. At the LEAST, interwork more ranks of the skill early in the game, if you're going to still max GS.

>You have 0 CC Reduction. You went with plated greaves, too, so you literally have 0. As a tank who doesn't have Preemptive Strike, Charge Prey, Belly Flop, Lunge, Death From Below, etc, you have no gap closer. Compound this with no CC reduction, and they'll just CC you once and slowly walk away. You have literally 0 way to catch you opponent unless it's in the jungle and you can wall them off from an escape *perfectly*. In reality, there's no way you're ever going to catch them.

>You have no decent health in your items. Mystical Mark and Sovereignty don't provide enough to matter, so even though you have a severe amount of physical defense, with Titan's Bane and Executioner being core items on most ADC's, your low health pool is going to rot you.

>Girdle of Might is iffy. Sure it helps allies, but you would rather have Beads, Aegis, Sprint, or Crippling Curse. Basically, Your allies aren't doing damage if you're CC'd/Dead, and they're being focused. They are, however, doing damage, if you're not CC'd or Dead, and are peeling for them with the wall or icebreath.

Guide Tips
>Items Section. Required, explains why you chose what you chose
>Alternative Section. No build is ever 100% efficient, so if their/your team comp is different, explain what could be a better pick up in one situation
>Skill Section. Why do you order it in that way?
>Laning Tips. Especially important for a support tank, because your ally relies on your in lane.
>Team-Fight protocol. What's your role? When do you initiate, versus when do you peel for allies?

Hope this helps.

Woah, this guide needs a lot more content.

You seem to be new to this, but be aware that I will show no mercy for a lax attitude. Inexperience, yes, laziness, no. Don't use the old "first guide" excuse to explain away this travesty.

Literally, all you have is an item build, a few (extremely basic) tips, and s rather threadbare pros and cons section. This isn't a guide, it's a skeleton of one. Dead. Empty. Depressing. Dismal.

Here's what I consider necessary for a guide to be considered as such:

A build, pros and cons, item explanations, build explanations, role in teamfights, and role in lane. The last two can be stretched a bit, like instead putting a section on early and late game.

I can't rate this guide, since it'll make me feel bad. Seriously, a downvote is like punching a mentally infirm child. Please, fill this guide up.
