PASSIVE
- Enemies killed by Xbalanque while Darkest of Nights is active permenantly add 5 physical power.
Branching Bola
- Cause 10/20/30/40/50 additional damage and hits 2 other enemies behind the target for 30% damage. Right click to cancel.
Needless to say this is great for farming minions and should be your first skill. Bear in mind that this consumes a small amount of mana per shot so be accurate and cancel it when there are only a couple of minions left to slow down your manaburn.
Poison Darts
- Fire 10 darts in a cone in front of you. Enemies can be hit by up to 3 darts. The first dart will deal 30/50/70/90/110 + 40% physical power while the other 2 deal 30% damage. Enemies that are poisoned take an additional 10/15/20/25/30 + 20% physical power as physical damage every .5 seconds for 3 seconds. Enemies are also slowed by 3/6/9/12/15% increasing with Focus up to 40%.
NEVER use this skill on minions, it will be a waste of mana. Instead, use it to harass the enemy or combine it with the next skill to secure a kill. It's worth noting that the darts will not go through minions or obstacles so make sure nothing will get in the way before you use this skill.
Rising Jaguar
- Rush forward and jump into the area firing darts at all enemies in a wide area around you dealing 80/130/180/230/280 + 40% physical power as physical damage.
Enemies that are poisoned by your darts take an additional 30% damage.
ENEMIES THAT ARE POISONED TAKE AN ADDITIONAL 50% DAMAGE. So yeah... use Poison Darts + Rising Jaguar for massive damage. Not only would I give Xbalanque a 10 after nailing the landing, this skill is so fun to use and is your enemy's bane. Once you activate this skill you will rush forward by approx 25 feet before jumping up into the air and raining death on all enemies below. You will have full control over your movement whilst in the air and the AOE is huge. You really can't miss with this skill and you can easily escape or chase down enemies. The only drawback with this skill is that despite the jump you can't go over walls/obstacles.
Darkest of Nights
- Shrouds enemies in darkness restricting the vision to approx 25 feet. Increase Xbalanque's attack range by 40ft and increase movement speed by 20/30/40/50/60& increasing with Focus up to 100%. After 3 seconds any enemies that are moving are stunned for 1.5 seconds increasing with Focus up to 3 seconds.
Ho Ho-ho-ho holy ****. The amount of times this has secured me a kill is inconceivable. Enemies MUST stop just before it ends or they get stunned. And using this whilst in the jungle is even better. The enemies vision is restricted so navigating the jungle will become hard for them. This skill will also effect every enemy in the game despite how ever far they may be from you. Yes you read that right. Use this skill to prevent enemies from running away from fights or during team fights to give your team the upper hand. As this increases movement speed and attack range, Xbalanque can easily chase down enemies who are far away especially when combined with Rising Jaguar.
Poison Darts +
Rising Jaguar +
Darkest of Nights +
Branching Bola
That is the formula to success with this God.
Xbalanque is squishy however so if you can't get an immediate upper hand over your enemy then it is probably best to escape the fight. For this reason it is best to sneak attack the enemy from the jungle whenever possible. You abilities have a wide range so don't worry too much about being accurate with them. Just get in there blowpipes and bola blazing.

I think because of the huge AD bonuses Xbalanque gets passively from Branching Bolas and his passive you can just maximize attack speed and skip the physical power items.
Of course, I mostly play him in Domination where it's super easy to always get your 6 kills early.
Putting points into your ult is pointless. All it does is slightly increase speed. Putting the point into a damage ability should be better since you get the utility out of the ult still.
Also this build is called 'Mobile Assassin'. Outside of boots there isn't anything extra mobile about it compared to any other Xbalanque guide.
No, the best way to go early game is to level poison darts first, then rising jaguar, put one point in your ult, then max poison darts and jaguar, and only then get branching bola's for faster clearing so you can push a lane fast. With this skill build you constantly pose a threat to the enemy players which makes it hard to gank for them, easy to retreat with rising jaguar and also easier for your team to gank. (poison dart into rising jaguar does very good dmg.)
The set works amazingly in all game modes.
Also I don't get the first skill first just because I don't need it in arena :P
Allllso I haven't tried this out in conquest, but for arena it is awesome ^_^
PS: if you have a high crit % with a deathbringer, it's still pretty damn good without the attack speed. 1/3 shots 'll be a crit and they'll do massive damage. I ussually kill carries with about 3 branching bolas
quite confusing, something which seems to be the standard in smite. This build is probably pretty effective, but I just don't get why. Same with anhur, people build qin's and att speed on him as well and it rapes, yet there's absolutely no reason it should. Both anhur and xblan scale solely on ad. You're leveling his 2 & 3 as well which makes attack speed absolutely useless. Cupid and artemis have the need for att speed, due to their passives. But on xblan it's quite the disadvantage actually, less bola's fired = less mana used? Yet ur entire build is focused on att speed...
And what if your abilities are on cooldown? Or when team fights occur? Or if you're out of mana? Abilities alone will only kill weakened/underleveled enemies. You will need to land however many hits it takes to finish your opponent and this is especially true against tanky Gods. Can you imagine playing a full game sitting at around 1-1.2 attacks per second as Xbalanque/Anhur? Also as ranged Gods you're not always guarenteed to hit your enemy unlike with melee characters, so being able to throw in many more shots will greatly improve your chances for killing.
Kinda like saying no abilities used = no mana used. Thats what mana is there for and it is only consumed when you have branching bola active so you can always turn it off if you feel you are manaburning.
Now, a comment on the item build I ALWAYS start with Warriors Tabi. That crit is a NEED. Now depending on how well I do in a lane and when I go back is what I get for my second item. But this is the build I usually go for: Warriors Tabi-->(Deathbringer if I'm doing well or i postpone that until the last item otherwise.) Qin's (attack speed damage and that extra true damage.) --> soul eater (life steal and attack speed) --> fatalis --> Titans Bane (that way you can harras and open up with your 2/3 for a full damaging hit on them peircing 33% armor).
Sorry but the build and the skill order aren't good in my opinion.
Why would you buy the Bolas first? Theyre too mana firsty and with Xbalanque you need to nuke the enemy quick, fast and easy.
Also the ultimate shouldn't be maxxed when its available.
See the comment above yours.
Bola is for the minions. Poison darts as the first skill won't do much to the minions and it is mainly used in combination with Rising Jaguar (for 50% more damage) which if you try to use to kill minions at the start will put you in immediate danger of being killed or losing a lot of your health as this will likely cause you to hit enemy Gods and therefore all minions attack you. Therefore you may aswell take Bola to assist with farming and being able to push your lane that much easier without putting you in harm's way.
