This is my first thing so

A lot of people really like my build, and when I forced my n00b friends to play as Anubis with me in a MOTD for their first time, I had them copy my build and they went about 15/0. So I decided like hey I should share this biz. And here I am.

New to Anubis?

So if you're brand new to Anubis, what you gotta do is

1) Hit your #2. Learn how to predict enemy movement. If you can't hit it, you're screwed. Royaly.

2) Once you hit your #2, you need to IMMEDIATELY lay down your #3 if possible. Get it as close to the middle of the enemy as possible so when the stun wears off, they still have to run through it and take more damage. Or predict their movement so they have to run through it no matter what.

3) Learn how to pretty much auto-attack with #2, #3, and then #1 or #4 if possible. If you're surrounded by enemies, DO NOT use these abilities unless you're certain you wont get culled. Your #1 and #4 make you immobile and vulnerable to damage for about 3-5 seconds.

4) Never use your #4 without your #2 (or another stun), unless you're absolutely certain on your aiming skills. It's hard to aim such a small attack and if you're enemies aren't stunned or slowed, they are free to use movement abilities or just flat out get out of your reach. This ability does go through anything though, and if your enemies are in a line you can get an easy double or triple kill, or kill an escaping jungler.

5) If you're being chased down, either quickly throw you're #2 and run like hell, or throw your #3 right under your feet and keep moving. Anubis has low defense unless built otherwise. Using you're #3 will not only get those enemies off your little Jackal booty, it will lifesteal any enemies on it and give you extra health to abscond with.

Item Order

Before you leave the fountain, you're going to want to buy:

1) First tier boots for Shoes of the Magi
2) First tier for Bancroft's Talon (Tiny Trinket)

This gives you movement speed--because let's face it; Anubis is really really slow, early life steal so you can stay out longer early game, more magical power to start with, and some extra mana.

This also allows you to buy either 1st tier of whatever two Active's you want (I usually buy Meditation [I run out of mana really fast so it's a necessity to me] and Teleport to Towers) and one health/multi/mana potion (your choice, I suggest health) -- or 1st tier of one active and any combination of consumables that you want. I usually get a stack of 3 health and 3 multipotions to get me through, with 60 coins left over.
It usually depends on which god I'm laned against for which one of those I do^
For example a god Like Ao Kuang I usually stack up health and multi, but someone like Ra I'll get my teleport early.

After that, just finish up your boots first and then talon. Depending on who you're against, you can get Rod of Tahuti or Obsidian Shard next. I usually get the Rod just for power early game. But if you're against a tankier god I suggest Obsidian for penetration.

Book of Thoth and Soul Reaver can also be switched up, I usually go Thoth first because it's cheaper and the extra MP5

Pros and Cons

Pros:
-This build gives you a heck of a lot of power and can kill low-defense gods (like most hunters and assassins) with one ability. (739/900)
-Easy to get ahead in levels (can kill whole minion waves in a few seconds or less around level 3 usually)
-Build works in all game modes
-Lifesteal (12/100)
-Penetration (15/50)
-Mana (15530/4000)
-MP5 (38/100)
-Movement Speed (413/1000)
-Slight defense (35 phys, 30 magic, 1010 health, 12 HP5)
Cons:
-Your defense is still pretty low, so stuns can almost guarantee death
-Anubis is a slow god and is easy to catch
-If you can't hit you're #2, you're pretty much useless early game and it's easy to fall behind
-If an enemy buys Magi's Blessing, you are basically completely useless against them because it will absorb your #2 once every 45 seconds
-Gods like Nemesis, Chaac, and Chronos are Anubis's biggest threats (at least that I've noticed), because Nemesis's shield can protect her from your ult long enough to keep her alive, and she can dash away or into you. Chaac's heals are devastating and it's difficult to get a kill on him, even with all four abilities. His slows can also spell your death if you stay by him too long (meaning using your #1 or #4 on him). And Chronos can roll back literally like 1 second before his death to full health against your ult.

Skill Order

I don't really have much to say here, but my order looks kinda strange so I'll elaborate a bit.
Grasping hands first is essential for clearing minions and getting back health without running right up to them or the enemy.

Then I get Mummify to keep enemies away from me, and trap them in my #3 with the minions. I don't usually try to get a kill this early on.

Next getting Plague of Locusts this early on, combined with your #3 (depending on what god and level the enemy is) is usually enough to secure a kill this early on, or at least do some hefty damage. Also can clear jungle camps pretty quickly.

Of course the ult is the most important ability so always upgrade it as soon as possible.

Then I usually keep my priority on Grasping, since it's the ability I'll use most often. Upgrading it early means it'll do more damage, faster. It can clear minions hella quick and if you hit you're #2, will be devastating to poor enemies.

Mummify is probably your most important ability, but keeping it first tier for a bit isn't gonna matter a lot. But the higher the upgrade, the longer the stun. So I usually prioritize it near the end of Grasping for the combo.

Locusts, in my opinion, is the least important ability. It makes you vulnerable for too long and I usually end up having to cancel it early in fights to avoid death.

***Your #1 and #4 abilities can be cut off early by right clicking, and I highly suggest using it. If your ult fails in a team fight, and you can't secure a kill or get out of there in time, don't risk it and get out of there. Same for #1--if an enemy is running at your face with it, or they're ranged and can reach you w/o being in it, don't be an idiot. The minions aren't worth dying for.***

Team Work

When I first started playing Smite, I was afraid of Mid and Solo, so I usually played duo. Keep in mind, Anubis is my favorite god in all mythology, and he's the reason I got Smite. A lot of people will chew you out for duo Anubis, but when I was new, it was pretty awesome to say the least. It got better when I made a build.

If you're new to Anubis, I'd say don't be afraid to ask to duo with him to get some experience. He is ranked "Very Hard" for a reason (mainly because his #2 and #4 are such small targets, I'm guessing.)

A great team I discovered was Anubis and Ymir. If you miss your stun, Ymir still has his and you can use it like your own, and if an enemy is running, Ice Wall with pretty much any of your abilities is perfect.

He's also a great god for ganking, if you don't get caught. Sneaking up behind an enemy from the jungle and Mummifying them can save teammates and, if not get you the kill, at least an assist in most cases. (mummifying doesn't do damage so don't forget your #3)

In team fights, Anubis is a great god for crowd control and singling out targets. It's really easy to get doubles and triples with him (Unless you get KSed lol). Just make sure not to get too far in front because his defense is really low, and his movement speed is nothing compared to someone like Apollo.

The Titan and You

I'm only making this chapter because I get really peeved off about this with other Anubi

If your titan is under attack by fire minions, don't just basic attack them--use your abilities. Fire minions are strong and can kill a titan quickly, and frankly your basic isn't strong enough against them. Also stay kinda backish from fire minions when defending. They can kill you pretty fast if you don't pay attention.

Also, if you're attack an enemies's titan, you don't have to get right up in the base and suicide for it. You can hide behind the wall and at least lay down your #3 and kill it safely. Also, your ult works through walls. With this build, I've gotten the titan down to 1/4 health with my ult alone (at level 20, full build). One grasping was enough to finish it off.

I'd advise that in future you don't post up WIP guides, and for you Items, why would you get Book of Thoth 5th item? It takes a while to stack, and you won't get the chance to do so in late game.

Agreed with Firraria, you need to finish it before it goes out. It's okay if it isn't perfect, but take the criticisms and move forward. As an Anubis fan and legendary Anubis mainer, I can definitely help if you'd like it.

There are a lot of things that I miss. I never played Anubis so I'm not going to criticize your build.

First thing I just miss the gameplay, teamwork, Pros & Cons, skills and more detail on the Items

Also look up the bb-code guide for some bb-code bassics like double brackets (i.e Shoes of the Magi)
