Chaac's early damage is really really strong. With his 1 on a low cool down you can pe poking everytime your Warrior's Axe proc refreshes. Making it really easy to do consistent damage and keeping your sustain even higher than it already is. I feel Bluestone may hinder some of your survivability in lane due to it making you squishier. And Chaac isn't necessarily the tankiest warrior. Don't get me wrong, he is very tanky but with this starter you're extra tanky and your damage doesn't fall off either. But if you prefer Bluestone I suppose it could be a way to gain lane pressure fairly quickly while making you more susceptible to getting solo killed and ganked due to your squishiness. Health chalice and pots for extra sustain. Blink to make your engage easier. Beads for the safety.
Around this point in time, you should be level 5 or approaching it soon depending on how well you played out the lane before your first back. Warrior Tabi is strong on Chaac because his scaling is nice. And his heal is scaled off percentage of his power as well. I'm sure you may be wondering why I opted for Warrior's Axe over Bluestone when Bluestone gives power. Well, your first few levels of your heal aren't incredibly strong, but once it's leveled a few times it becomes incredibly strong along with your power. Don't worry, we'll build plenty more power in this build. Extra pots for sustain or wards if you're getting ganked or for invading.
Breastplate is so good on Chaac for the cooldown alone, but the prots and mana along with mp5 make it that much better on him. If the enemy solo is magical and the jungle is physical first purchase Genji's Guard for it's incredible stats. Then buy Breastplate afterward. If they're both physical then buy Breastplate and do this next step.
Transcendence is gonna be a massive power spike for you, and it'll drastically increase your heal as well. This item once stacked in combination with Breastplate will give you over 1100 mana alone. Converting that into power making your heal so much more valuable. This item will win you the mid game which is where Chaac begins to fall off. His late game is meh, but we're here to try and fix that. If you're behind i recommend just building another defense item that gives cdr. You can find some items in the "Other Items to Consider" section.
The Sledge is giving you more mana to convert to power allowing you to get more value from your heal. The stats alone from this item are more than enough to fit into this build. The passive is super nice as well because you can stack it really quickly as Chaac. You want to blink ult the whole backline so The Sledge passive gains value immediately.
Genji's Guard is a solid magical defense item and it's a great way to cap out on cdr and the passive means you'll have those abilities up so freaking often. Adding more health to you as well as 70 magical prots. It's really good for a lot of warriors.
I believe you have a solid choice between either upgrades. One is very defensive and the other is for offensive. You have quite a bit of health with this build so Hero's Axe will grant a decent shield. Sundering Axe on top of your Transcendence damage will be really good against squishies considering you'll have your abilities up by the next time the passive refreshes. But if you'd rather sell the starter, here's some item to consider.
Void Shield will up your power, pen and prots. Giving you all around a more tankier and scarier presence.
Hide of the Urchin will give you so much health and mana making you tankier while giving you a slight power boost due to Transcendence. I would build this item if you need more survivability.
Spectral Armor is good against high crit carries like Merc or Jing. Chaac gets blown up fairly easily so this item will help at least a little.
Pestilence is great against high healing comps, and as the frontline you need to apply your antiheal to the backline so your jungler has a better chance at bursting the carries, along with their antiheal of course.
Overall, you couldn't go wrong with any of the items, but they're kind of situational.
Here, I chose to hold onto my starter and upgrade it to Hero's Axe for the decent overshield it would grant due to my large health pool. I purchased Void Shield for the 3 P's(Power,Pen,Prots). The item is a great way end off a build, and with this particular build you'll still be very very tanky but have so much damage in your kit you'll be able to 1v1 most back line carries.
Mostly just items to help you win lane and giving you cdr. These are the items I feel benefit Chaac the most.
Mantle of Discord is all around a great item for the passive and the stats.
Spirit Robe passive makes you tankier and the stats are super nice. Underrated item.
Glad Shield is a damage hybrid item that I decided to skip because I opted for Transcendence for a larger power spike. But Glad shield is nonetheless a great item on Chaac.
Mystical Mail should only be purchased during the laning phase, anytime after and it's basically a waste of an item slot. It's main purpose is to give you pressure in lane when boxing. If you so choose to build this item, I suggest buying it withing your first three to four item slots.
Oni Hunter's Garb is really good on Chaac because it stacks mitigations with your ultimate making you nearly invincible for the during of your ult. The stats are nice but I opt for Genji's because of the cdr. But you can't go wrong with Oni Hunter's.
Magi's Cloak is really good if you can't seem to get your ult off in time after blinking or if you're getting Crowd controlled to death before getting your damage off.
Pestilence is always good into high healing comps. Decent health and prots as well.
Hide of the Nemean is good against high aa comps. Like Jing/Merc or something of the sort. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise unless their adc is destroying you.
Pridwin in combination with your slows and big knock up is really really nice. It increases your chances of chasing people out and your survivability due to the shield you receive after ulting.
Max your first ability to give you the most consistent damage. Your second ability does more the early levels but the cooldown is longer than your 1. Plus your 1 is ranged making it good for poke. I max my heal for the increased healing in the mid game because it can be really helpful in skirmishes as well as the massive slow increase that comes with it. Great space control. I do prioritize my ultimate because of the insane damage increase but also the mitigations i get as well. You can max your 2 over the heal but i just prefer to prioritize my heal.

Not a big fan of the 3rd item trans. And with the anti heal aura slightly unsure if trans keeps a place. If you're planning on trans it has always been a grab it straight after boots (or before) to have it stacked (and continue snowballing) quickly and honestly in that case you would also like Bluestone Pendant to help you get there. Chaac has a lot of early pressure because of his safe poke and Torrent providing him with prot when fighting in a wave at skill lvl 1. Since power also makes his heal stronger it allows you to lvl Torrent before Rain Dance allowing those extra prot gain by lvl 2 after 1.
there is nothing bad with the cdr build especially if you're planning to go with the axe starter. I think it might make him more obnoxious during the late game with those upgrades than bluestone. I haven't had the chance to test the starters yet.
Trans is still great on him. I wouldn't pick up Genji's Guard if you're picking up Breastplate of Valor. You don't need 30% CDR that soon on him (40% including blue buff) and later on you can easily reach 30% with a shield of regrowth / Mantle of Discord / Spirit Robe. Personally I don't think you need a single magical prot item on Chaac unless their mid is really ahead or they have 3 magicals. I normally go BoV and Void Shield and build the rest as mixed prot items (cad shield, mantle, etc.) but if you were looking to get a single magical prot item I would recommend Talisman of Energy or Bulwark of Hope.
Bulwark of Hope is useful because your Rain Dance has such a long cooldown, that if you're taking a lot of damage the shield can back you up until the heal is back. Talisman of Energy brings great proxy and teamfight potential for Chaac, he can catch people in his 1-3 combo and have enough attack speed to deal some damage to them; plus the rest of his team get the nice movement, MP5 and attack speed.
