Skadi is a norse hunter without any escapes or low cooldown stuns, but what makes her a great choice is her pet Kaldr. Together with the perfect builds which I found throughout my time as a rank X Skadi, you will find her extremely powerful.
Pros
Highly dangerous in 1v1 fights
Can stun and slow enemies
Extremely high damage
Good chasing god
Cons
No escapes
Not the best choice in team fights
Without her wolf, Kaldr is an easy target
Mana hungry early game
Piercing Cold is Skadi's main and simple damage skill. It's easy to land, but just to make it easier I suggest using it after Permafrost (Skadi's 3) or the ultimate's root, just to completely avoid missing it.
Rune of Hunt is basically a skill that targets the wolf to attack. Kaldr, your wolf will instant run towards the target you mark. Upon reaching small distance from the target Kaldr will charge and become as close as it can be to the target - that would usually be the perfect time to activate your ult, which will also root your target as Kaldr is close to it.
Perma Frost is a cc skill that proves to be useful in team fights. You will place a circle of ice on the floor, and enemies will be forced to slide towards the direction they were going once stepping on it. It's useful because that way you can predict exactly where your enemy will go - and thus land your piercing cold skill on it. Enemies will also take small damage while sliding from the permafrost skill itself.
Winter's Grasp is Skadi's ult. Either Skadi or Kaldr have to be in range of the target in order for it to be rooted while the ultimate is activated. In addition, while in Kaldr's or Skadi's range it will be slowed. And finally, Kaldr will heal to full health and will also be completely invulnerable while the ultimate is active. This is massive power and you can use it to your own advantage. A good trick would be sending Kaldr to attack something, and just before dying activating the ult so that it will heal back up and continue attacking. It can also be used to destroy towers by letting Kaldr take about 11 tower hits before it starts attacking you.

I think Transcendence is better left at where it is, because Kaldr's basic attacks make up for your damage, so might as well get some movement speed.
Good point, I'll change Rune of the Hunt to second skill you should max out. And as for the root, thanks for pointing that out.
kaldr's early game is unreliabe. his early game is really not enough to make up for lack of damage.
Hey!
Getting Transcendence as your second item will pose a problem as the enemy adc will have more power and will be able to outbox you.
Maxing Rune Of The Hunt third will take away from kaldr and your early/ mid game a lot, mazing it second is more efficient.
and a root (making someone stuck in place) is different than a stun (making them unable to move while unable to attack)
