Smite God: Ravana

My Introduction

What is going on viewers of SMITEFire, Stuke here again for another guide. This guide will be about the King of Lanka, The Ten-Headed Twenty-Armed Demon, Ravana. Note: you don't have to follow this guide to the smallest detail, these are suggestions on how to play Ravana. I encourage you to look at the comment section below and see others suggestions.

Who is Ravana?

Ravana is a physical, melee, warrior that is like a mix of Osiris' AA-based combat with Chang'e's kit. He relies on his basic attacks and his abilities like Prana Onslaught to build stacks on Chain of Blows to give a sheild to stay in the fight longer.

Pros & Cons

- High Single Target Damage
- High Sustain
- Hard to Kill
- All-in Fighting Style
- Roots
- Slows
- Fast Hit Chain
- Shields

- Squishy
- Poor Early Game
- CC Lockdowned easily

A lovely little passive that when you get 8 successful basic attacks or ability hits on a enemy or minion, you gain a shield off a percentage of his health that can stack for a limited amount of times.

A simple cone attack that slows. Level this first for eh damage and the slow scaling.

This is similar in function to Chang'e's Moonlit Waltz but with more of an offensive twist to it as you launch a ball that damages anyone hit with it.

This is what puts Ravana in the solo lane. A straight forward attack that passes though minions and when it hits a enemy god it roots them, but with the added effect of it giving you health for the amount of minions and gods you hit with this ability.

Almost like Loki's Assassinate, but works more like a leap and deal AoE damage. You also gain a damage mitigation buff to the enemy closes to the center of your ultimate. Uses mainly as an engagement tool but could be used as much as an escape as well.

Example Build

Ravana can hit hard, both with Auto-Attacks and Abilities, so you could use a hybrid build for maximum damage and to combo the in-hand attacks with the abilities or you can stick to one side of the damage spectrum.

A optional active for any solo laner, as you can return to base and get back to your tower in half the time if you just walked there.

Do I really need to explain why this active is important? It makes you immune to any CC for 1 second which allows you to get out of a CC lock to either retreat or continue to attack your opponent.

Like purification, almost necessary and well known that no explanation is needed.

When in a CC lockdown, and your death is closing in on you. Use this active to make you immune to any damage for a duration and run away while you-re immune.

Have trouble with healers are people that faster then you, get this active.

When you or your teammates are in a huge fight, drop this active so everyone on your team gets a spike in protections

Tips & Tricks

- Go into the jungle camp or minion wave and build up your shield before you engage on an enemy god.

- Ravana can be a good invade god, but it's a high risk so know what you're going against before you try to invade.

- Use your slow whenever possible so you can try to kill or get away.

- Use your ult when your opponent uses up their escape so they can't get away.

- Ravana is a better 1v1 boxing god that can take out a single target at a time, so his presence in a teamfight is very small and can get picked off if he's focused.

- Use your kit to set up kills like 10-Hand Shadow Fist's root or Prana Onslaught's slow in an attempt to secure the kill.

Phases of the Game

Early Game
The early phase of the game is the most dangerous to Ravana as his abilities are not strong enough and his lack in defense early on can get him killed real easily. So try to farm up as much as you can or you will be out-pushed and will die almost every time.

Middle Game
This is when things start to change for Ravana. After you get your three core items online you will finally be able to hold your own in a fight and may even get a kill in the process.

Late Game
Jump into every teamfight, figuratively and literally, and attempt to claim kills while you're at it. Ravana falls off a bit at this point for he won't provide the damage output as he would before because you'll need defensive items to stay afloat in fights. Not early game bad, but just not enough for the late game.

Things to Look-out for

- Like Osiris your damage is not as good as other AA-based gods and your kills might get stolen very often, so don't throw a tantrum if someone steal your kill.

- Like Chang'e you lack a true escape so you have to use your abilities to try to keep a distance away from your attacker.

- The standard CC lockdown is dangerous to any god, but it affects Ravana a tap bit more since he's like a bulky assassin.

A Little Something Extra

In conclusion, Ravana is a very in-your-face type of god that like to fight mono to mono and deal a considerable amount of damage while being hard to kill with his jukes and sustain. Attacks like Osiris and having the abilities similar to that of Chang'e makes him a deadly foe and a true opponent to go against. So keep on fighting and show them that no God nor Demon can out-match the King of Lanka.
